Reborn as an Ugly Wife in the Countryside
Chapter 1632 - 1634: He Decided—He Will Marry Her!
The passage of time is uncertain.
Yang Dong maintained the same posture all along.
Finally, he noticed a serious problem: although Li Chuntao was still breathing, she hadn’t woken up.
The joy he felt earlier suddenly turned heavy.
He let Li Chuntao lie in his arms again, looking down at her while repeatedly calling her name, "Li Chuntao, Li Chuntao..."
But no matter how he called, Li Chuntao lay silently in his arms like a sleeping beauty, motionless.
Yang Dong, anxious and fuming, looked up at the sky; it was nearly dark, and he needed to get Li Chuntao back to the village as soon as possible.
Yang Dong, having made up his mind, got up and prepared to carry Li Chuntao on his back.
However, when he touched Li Chuntao’s waist, he felt something sticky on his hand.
His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly withdrew his hand to find bloodstains on it.
He was instantly terrified.
She was injured!
When did this happen?
Was it when she fell?
He quickly checked Li Chuntao’s injury, finding her clothes neatly cut by a knife at the waist.
This immediately reminded him.
It was Yang Xiaocui.
The injury was inflicted back then.
She had fought with Yang Xiaocui for so long with a knife wound.
No wonder she chose to fall down.
She had already run out of strength.
It was already incredible that she managed for so long.
He now resented himself for being so slow; if he had reached her side a bit quicker, she wouldn’t have fallen.
It’s all his fault, everything is his fault.
Yang Dong looked at the blood still seeping from Li Chuntao’s waist. He knew it was because he had just touched her; if not treated in time, it would be a problem.
Yet, the moment he stretched his hand, he hesitated.
Undressing a woman like this isn’t appropriate.
After a few seconds of indecision, he took action anyway.
Because he had decided to marry her!
When he lifted Li Chuntao’s clothes and saw the horrifying wound on her waist, his heart twisted with pain.
She truly was a brave and strong woman.
Without any medicine to stop the bleeding from the wound, he could only tear off his undershirt, wrapping it around Li Chuntao’s waist again and again. Thankfully, the wound wasn’t too big, so this should do.
Yang Dong was very worried, unsure of what other injuries Li Chuntao might have sustained in her fall and why she hadn’t woken up. He needed to get her back as soon as possible.
They had fallen from somewhere in the middle of Nanshan, not deep inside nor on the outskirts.
This fall was likely still within Nanshan, not far from Yang Family village; they just had to keep moving outwards to get there.
With this plan set, Yang Dong once again got up, hoisting Li Chuntao on his back.
By now, it was already dark. If he delayed any longer, they wouldn’t make it out and would have to spend the night here.
He had to hurry, faster and faster.
But he still couldn’t make it out; nightfall came silently.
Along with it came the sounds of various animals.
Yang Dong realized they probably wouldn’t make it out tonight, so he found a spot to settle down.
Gathering some firewood, he made a fire, luckily having brought along a fire striker.
The mountain was cold; the fire could provide warmth and drive away some fire-fearing animals, so their safety should still be assured.
He placed Li Chuntao near the fire, taking off his clothes to cover her, keeping her warm.
But the deeper into the night it got, the colder it became. With her still not awake, Yang Dong feared she’d develop a condition from the cold before waking, so he lay down next to Li Chuntao, letting her lie in his arms like in the morning, embracing her to keep her warm.
