Secret Marriage, High-Profile Pampering!
Chapter 1170: Surprise or Not, Unexpected or Not
"Drive to the house!" Old Master casually instructed the driver.
By "house," he meant a castle owned by the Ink Family in the country.
The driver understood what he meant and slowly drove towards the Ink Family estate.
...
After bringing Summer Sutton to the house, the Old Master didn’t immediately contact Manuel Ink. Instead, he just had Summer accompany him for walks in the garden, to relax, and to drink tea every day.
Manuel Ink found out Summer was at the Ink Family three days later.
He was in a meeting when a servant informed him.
As soon as he got the call, he left the meeting without bothering about the many people there and drove back in a hurry.
He walked through the long garden path, and on the terrace outside the living room, he bumped into Summer. Standing a few meters away, he quietly looked at her, seemingly surprised.
Summer turned her face to look at him and took the initiative to explain, "I came back with Grandpa Ink."
Afraid he might misunderstand Old Master’s intentions, Summer quickly clarified, "Grandpa was just bored and wanted me to accompany him for a few days."
Summer’s explanation was intentionally considerate, mainly to avoid stirring up any conflict between the grandfather and grandson.
Little did she know, just as she finished speaking, Old Master came out of the living room and spoke, "Who said just a few days? Didn’t we agree on five years before? Are you planning to just let that go?"
Manuel turned his face, his eyes rigidly fixed on him, as if he found his words hard to believe.
He hadn’t expected his grandfather to be so stubborn on this matter.
"What are you looking at? After so long without seeing your grandpa, you have that look on your face?" Old Master was dissatisfied with Manuel’s reaction and rebuked him.
Manuel snapped out of it and was speechless at him.
"Why didn’t you give a heads-up before coming back to the country?" Taking a few steps towards him, Manuel casually asked.
"Wasn’t this meant to surprise you? Happy? Surprised?" Old Master smirked coolly.
Manuel, "..."
"You really disappoint me." Old Master threw him a remark, buried his head, and went towards the garden to attend to his plants.
As he tinkered with his plants, thinking of the ones ruined in M Country, he gritted his teeth hard.
That brat, Watt Bennet! 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Discovering Summer Sutton’s absence, he must be frantic now, right?
The more anxious he was, the less Old Master wanted to let Summer go back quickly!
"Come with me!" Manuel Ink, afraid he might again prompt Summer to do something against her will, called out to her, leading the way into the house.
Summer knew he was just giving her a way out, so she quickly followed.
Manuel led her up all the way to an upstairs terrace.
Once seated, he brewed a pot of tea and pushed a cup towards Summer.
Summer walked over, sat in the spot across from him, and tried asking, "Have you been in the country this whole time?"
"Yes," Manuel responded to her blandly.
Summer nodded.
She was actually quite relieved Manuel immediately returned home after getting the call. If he hadn’t, she wouldn’t have been able to handle Old Master Ink alone.
Manuel sipped his tea and suddenly said, "I’ll be going abroad in a couple of days."
"I’ll go with you!" Summer said without thinking.
As long as she didn’t have to stay with Old Master Ink, anything else would do.
Afraid he might find her troublesome, unable to lend a hand, Summer patted her chest and assured him, "I can be your assistant, run errands for you. Running errands is what I’m best at. At Royal Delight, I basically do this every day."
