The Mafia King's Hacker Bride
Chapter 55: Her Bold Betrayal
MK kicked back in the chair, casually drawing circles on the woman’s thigh with his fingers. His voice slipped into a chill, business-like tone as he started laying out their plans. The relaxed vibe in the room clashed with the serious undertones of their conversation, making the air feel a bit electric.
"So," he said, narrowing his eyes at AD, "your next job is pretty straightforward. Or... it should be."
He flashed a smirk. "You need to get me those devices your men lost, along with the girl. Both of them. And don’t forget to bring the girl back with you."
AD gulped nervously. "I...I will...."
MK cut him off, his tone sharp.
"No." His voice turned icy. "Listen up." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
Leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, he looked at AD like a predator sizing up its prey. "If you don’t bring her to me... or if even one of those devices goes missing..." He paused, letting the silence stretch out, making it feel like a tight rope around AD’s throat. "I’ll take you out myself."
AD tensed, feeling the weight of that threat cut through him.
MK kept going, his voice calm and collected. "You’ve built up quite the reputation, lots of cash, and a good amount of influence." His eyes glinted with a mix of pride and challenge. "But that’s all thanks to me. Every last bit. And just like I helped you get all this..."
He snapped his fingers, the sound sharp and commanding. "I can just as easily take it all away, snap my fingers, and it’s gone in an instant."
AD’s breath caught in his throat, panic rising. He forced himself to nod. "I, I’ll bring you good news. I swear."
MK stared at him for a long, lingering moment. Then he tilted his head. "Good news?" he echoed. "I don’t want promises, AD. I want results."
AD lowered his eyes. "You’ll get both."
MK smirked, feeling pretty good about things, at least for now.
AD spoke up again, his voice tense. "MK... that girl didn’t just run away. She’s a real threat. You saw how she took down my guys. It was like they were nothing to her."
MK laughed, more amused than worried. "That’s exactly why I want her."
AD clenched his jaw, clearly not happy. "She’s a hacker. Smart and quick. She knows how to disappear. If she’s got someone helping her....."
"Helping her?" MK cut in, eyebrow raised. "You really think she’s not on her own?"
AD paused for a second, unsure. "She got away too smoothly. Too fast. She has to have backup."
MK thought it over for a moment, tapping his chin. "Or maybe she’s just better than your men."
His smirk grew wider, clearly enjoying the challenge. "Actually... that sounds a lot more accurate."
AD bit down on the inside of his cheek, struggling to keep his cool and not show how frustrated he was getting.
MK continued speaking with a laid-back tone, though there was an underlying edge. "The real issue isn’t just her. It’s the devices she possesses. Those devices can’t fall into the wrong hands... no way. If she or anyone else discovers their existence, or if even one of those devices ends up with someone else, they will know where we source them from."
AD interjected, sounding serious, "She could take all of us down."
MK’s smile disappeared. "Exactly. She’s just one girl, but the information she has," he tapped his head...."is enough to completely ruin our entire operation. Half of the information she leaked indicates that she must know everything. She probably knows something about me, too."
AD froze, contemplating the situation. "She’s already way ahead of us. We don’t even know where she is."
MK sighed, clearly frustrated. "You’re giving me problems, not solutions. Find her. I don’t care how you do it. Use every informant, every camera, every satellite, track her down if you have to, but I want her alive."
Then MK leaned in, lowering his voice, "And if she’s not by herself... find the person who’s with her too."
AD’s eyes widened a bit, "I’ll... get on that."
"Good," MK replied, showing no concern. "Because if she teams up with the wrong guy..." He smirked darkly, "Then things are going to get really interesting. And dangerous."
Then, after a long pause, MK pulled his focus away from AD and directed it toward the woman sitting on his lap. His face immediately relaxed.
"Let’s get going," he said, gently tucking her hair behind her ear. "It’s already night, and you promised to come over to my penthouse."
She paused for a second. AD felt a pang of hope in his chest; maybe she’d back out.
But then she flashed MK a sweet smile, hiding the storm brewing inside her. "Let’s go, babe."
MK beamed, clearly happy with her response.
She ran her fingers through his hair, her voice dripping with charm, "I’ve always wanted to call someone babe out loud... and you..." Her smile widened, "You’re just perfect for it."
She winked at him and leaned in for a kiss, which MK eagerly reciprocated by pulling her closer. But while they were kissing, she opened her eyes and met AD’s gaze from a short distance away. Instantly, heat rushed to his face, a mix of anger, jealousy, and embarrassment swirling inside him.
She grinned against MK’s lips, clearly enjoying the moment as she reveled in the tension she had stirred. Now, she was playing a game that neither guy really understood, one where she held all the cards, and both were bound to get burned. She used to play by their rules, but now she was ready to change the game.
Even if it meant getting hurt herself, she was determined to ensure AD felt the heat, too. She had put up with so much just to help him, but now she was the one in control. MK wanted her, even if it was only for one night. And since she was already tangled up with AD, why not enjoy being desired by MK as well? The risks were high, but she was all in for the thrill.
