Aurelia didn't know how to describe her feelings upon hearing the news; she just felt completely shocked and dazed for a long time. She didn't even hear Balthazar calling her on the phone, and after hanging up, she ran outside like a shot.

Outside, the night was thick, and M City was shrouded in a downpour.

Aurelia drove Caspian Parker's sports car, quickly merging into the traffic, the speed fast, leaving car after car behind.

"Screech—!" accompanied by the sound of an urgent brake.

The car stopped at the airport entrance.

Aurelia got out of the car, not bothering to close the door, and ran wildly into the ticket hall, gasping for breath, "Hello, I need a ticket to Country Z."

The ticket agent eyed her suspiciously, glancing at her pajamas, "Due to the heavy rain, all flights are temporarily grounded."

Aurelia felt a twinge of disappointment, "When is the earliest flight to Country Z?"

The ticket agent checked and regretfully said, "I'm sorry, but due to a recent cold front, all flights to Country Z have been suspended, the earliest... would be a week later."

"A week..." By then, it might be too late for anything.

"Thank you."

Aurelia walked out of the airport hall; outside it was pouring, and she was caught off guard, becoming drenched from head to toe.

Seeing her plight, a security guard offered her an umbrella, "Miss, it's raining too hard, why don't you come inside and wait it out?"

"No need, thank you."

Aurelia opened the umbrella and walked into the rain.

Reflecting on her impulsiveness, she gave a self-mocking smile, thinking how foolish her actions were. It reminded her of a time when, during a similar heavy rain, Mason was mad at her for going to the company without dinner.

Remembering his stomach issues, she braved the rain to deliver porridge to him, only to be severely scolded.

"Miss?" The security guard noticed Aurelia had stopped halfway, standing there still, her silhouette looking desolate, so he came over worriedly and asked, "Maybe you should wait until the rain eases. What's your family's phone number? Do you need them to pick you up?"

"No need." Aurelia returned the umbrella to the guard and drove away from the airport.

On the road, Aurelia opened the window, letting the cold wind rush in, turning her lips purple and face pale, but her chest felt less congested.

A bolt of lightning struck, Mason turned to look out the window, the rain pelting the glass with noise, and he frowned with an inexplicable feeling of oppression.

"Ka-chak!" Aurelia pushed the door open and entered the house, immediately noticing the displeased look on Caspian Parker's face.

Seeing her return, Caspian breathed a sigh of relief, approached her, and noticing her soaked clothes and hair, frowned, "How did you get yourself soaked like this, going out in the heavy rain?"

Aurelia set down the car keys, "I'm sorry, brother, for making you worry."

Caspian sighed, "Why are you saying such polite things to me? Go take a shower and change your clothes. I'll make you some ginger tea, or you'll catch a cold tomorrow."

"Okay." Aurelia agreed and went upstairs.
