35 -33: Female Cop and Kid
Zhang Zhongmou, who was right behind Su Yu, didn’t understand what was going on.
He shouted loudly, “Su, why have we stopped?
What, have you seen a naked woman?” and tried to squeeze his way in.
“Everyone, stop,” Su Yu ordered in a low voice.
At this time, Su Yu held quite a lot of authority, so when he spoke, everyone startled and actually stopped moving, their eyes somewhat perplexed as they looked through the iron door.
At this moment, Su Yu’s eyes gradually adjusted to the darkness, and he finally got a clear look inside.
It looked like some sort of record room, with filing cabinets everywhere.
The security door he had blasted open had flown back and smashed one of the cabinets, scattering it’s content all over the floor.
On the other side near the wall, a little girl was hugging her knees, her terror-filled eyes staring at him.
Her horrified and helpless face, made Su Yu realise he would find it hard to forget for a long time to come.
Standing next to him was a woman in police uniform.
The woman had a gun against his head, her face full of nervous vigilance, showing no sign of relaxation despite recognizing he was a human.
“We mean no harm, we’ve already handled the Goblin Beasts.
We just came to help,” Su Yu quickly analyzed the situation and swiftly explained.
Being threatened with a gun to his head was quite uncomfortable, he feared that if this woman got nervous and pulled the trigger, it would all be over.
At the same time, Su Yu’s left hand was tensed up, ready to instantly unleash the “Rending Claw” at any sign of hostility.
Although he didn’t want to kill people, he had even less desire to be killed himself.
Upon hearing Su Yu’s explanation, the female police officer visibly relaxed a bit, and then in a low voice said, “Step back, all of you step back.”
Apparently, she didn’t entirely trust Su Yu and the others.
Su Yu could understand her wariness, so he slowly moved back.
At this point, Zhang Zhongmou and Qin Jiagui behind him had also realized what was going on and started backing off too.
Zhang Zhongmou muttered unhappily: “What the hell is this?
We killed the monsters, basically saving you, and this is how you treat your saviors?”
Only when Su Yu and the others had retreated the ten meters did the policewoman sigh and put down her gun.
While the group was retreating, she had been cautiously observing them, also noticing the tree dead Goblin Beasts in the distance.
The fact was, she had been aware of the battle between Su Yu’s group and the Goblin Beasts, but in this dangerous world, her basic instinct for self-preservation made her reluctant to trust strangers, perhaps that was just a sign of her vigilance as a cop.
At this moment, illuminated by the faint light from Qin Jiagui’s flashlight, Su Yu got a good look at this policewoman.
He had thought she might be the little girl’s mother, but upon closer inspection, he found that she was about 25 or 26 years old.
Her tight police uniform accentuated her figure, making her look mature and voluptuous.
Her short skirt revealed a pair of slender legs.
The mature beauty she exuded in this dark, terrifying atmosphere was indescribable.
The policewoman had extremely pale skin, like snow jade.
Her eyes were large and eyebrows slender.
She was remarkably good looking, easily rivaling a made-up film or TV star.
Looking at her, Su Yu figured she probably wasn’t the little girl’s mother.
The girl must be about seven or eight years old, could this policewoman have given birth in her teens?
While he was lost in his thoughts, Zhang Zhongmou suddenly shouted: “Hey, are we just going to stand here?
Forget it, Su, since they don’t want our help, let’s go.”
Su Yu shook his head, ran his fingers through his hair and stepped up again.
Seeing Su Yu come closer again, the policewoman immediately glared at him and raised her gun.
Su Yu held up his hands to show he meant no harm, then took off his backpack, opened it and showed her the food and bottled water inside.
The policewoman looked at it, her face softened slightly, and she involuntarily swallowed.
It seemed she was quite hungry.
Seeing her reaction, Su Yu picked up his backpack and walked in.
This time, the policewoman didn’t stop him but still gripped her gun tightly, ready for anything.
Seeing Su Yu go in, Zhang Zhongmou wanted to follow him but was stopped by Qin Jiagui, who shook his head and said, “Her guard is really up, I don’t blame her.
We suddenly appeared out of nowhere, and it’s only natural for her to be nervous.
If too many of us go in at once, it might cause problems.
Let’s just wait here.”
Upon hearing this, Zhang Zhongmou snorted, but didn’t go any further.
He took out a cigarette and said, “What do you say, I have plenty of cigarettes now.
Want one?”
Qin Jiagui simply smiled and shook his head.
He felt Zhang Zhongmou was too crude and didn’t bother to respond to him.
He couldn’t figure out how he had become such good friends with Su Yu, for Su Yu was someone he respected from the bottom of his heart.
Su Yu went in with the backpack, walked straight over to the little girl and crouched down.
He took out a piece of bread and said with a smile, “Go ahead and eat,” then took out the bottled water.
The terrified look gradually left the little girl’s face as she realized that Su Yu was kind.
She had not eaten anything all day and was starving, so she took the bread and started eating hungrily, only to choke almost immediately.
Su Yu quickly handed her the water and gently patted her back, saying, “Don’t rush, there’s plenty more where that came from.
First, have some water.”
Children are really easy to please.
Very soon, the terror left the little girl’s face and she gave Su Yu a grateful smile.
Seeing that, Su Yu stood up satisfied, looking towards the still tense policewoman with her gun drawn.
He held out his hands and said with a smile, “Still don’t trust us?” He held up a few pieces of bread and biscuits, indicating for her to come and take it.
The policewoman softly snorted and said quietly, “I’m not hungry.” However, just as she finished speaking, her stomach made a loud grumbling sound and she immediately blushed.
Su Yu showed no signs of mockery, but simply sighed and said, “We came across a supermarket and found this food.
Otherwise, we would probably be starving too.” He paused a bit before adding, “If you’re willing, you can come with us.
If not, we’ll leave this bag of food for you and leave here ourselves.”
Su Yu understood that this policewoman was too suspicious of them, so he didn’t want this to drag.
Actually, he could probably guess what had happened even without asking.
This police station probably ended up in this forest for the same reasons as the school, then was attacked by a group of Goblin Beasts.
The policewoman and the girl were the survivors who had been hiding here.
The large Goblin Beasts later found them and then they had arrived, resulting in the current situation.
