Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 110: Hunting the thugs
Chapter 110: Hunting the thugs
Elena glared at the terrified thug, who was already crying as if he were being slaughtered even before her revenge had begun.
Annoyed, she retrieved her whip and struck it down on him.
As the red-haired thug looked at them, he finally realized they were human, which eased his panic slightly. However, confusion still clouded his mind.
’How did I get here?’
"Who are you? Why are you doing this to me?" the red-haired thug demanded, shielding his body as he sought an explanation for everything that had transpired.
"No hard feelings; you just pissed me off. Is that enough reason?" Elena replied, her tone icy as she continued to strike him with the whip.
The thug could sense the hatred radiating from Elena, but his instinct for survival kicked in.
Desperately, he began to plead, offering anything he could in exchange for his safety.
"Please let me go. I have a lot of money on me," he begged, his voice trembling. "It’s worth a fortune! How about ten million green coins?"
Elena’s eyes narrowed, her expression filled with mockery. "What could money do right now? Can you see the typhoon? It won’t stop anytime soon, so money is useless."
Elena didn’t bother to listen anymore; she whipped him to release her anger.
The red-haired thug moaned in pain, shocked to find himself on the receiving end of torture for the first time. He was used to being the one inflicting it.
After a few minutes, the red-haired thug could no longer bear the pain. With a desperate cry, he angrily shouted, "Then what do you want from me?"
"To suffer the same way you torture your victims," Elena replied in a cold voice.
Seeing his wife calm down, Ethan took the whip and delivered the final blow. The red-haired thug succumbed to his injuries, dying in anguish.
Afterward, Ethan stored the body in his [Inventory] while Elena commanded the Golden Tablet to cleanse the area.
A smirk crept across Elena’s face as she thought, ’So, heaven can’t really interfere with anyone inside Paradise.’ The realization filled her with a sense of satisfaction.
Elena then looked at her Golden Tablet and saw that the last added person was gone, with the Reserve Energy Tab points reduced by 10%.
It dawned on her that every time someone bound to the Golden Tablet died, a portion of energy was taken.
Elena was lost in thought when Ethan interrupted her, saying, "Wife, let’s head back."
"Alright, let me communicate with them first," Elena replied, activating her [Telepathy] skill to contact Lydia.
After knowing that the thugs were still not showing any signs of appearing, Elena and Ethan quickly left the space.
They regrouped in a safer location, ready to wait patiently for the perfect moment to ambush them once again.

Meanwhile, the thugs were breaking into a unit downstairs, laughing as people screamed.
Alarmed by the commotion, the residents quickly locked their doors, worried that the criminals might try to break into their unit next.
The residents couldn’t understand where the criminals had come from. They were too scared to open their doors and investigate, so they huddled in the corners, listening as the thugs easily bullied their neighbors.
Afterward, the thugs returned to the manager’s unit, laughing as they prepared for a feast. The raging typhoon outside did nothing to dampen their spirits as they celebrated.
"Where is Ian? Why hasn’t he come back yet?" the manager asked, surprised as it had been almost an hour since they left.
"They’re probably having a good time, manager. Should we go check on them?" the other thug replied eagerly, hoping to score with the woman on the upper floor.
"Send someone to check."
"I’ll do it myself, manager."
A group of thugs went upstairs to check the situation and rushed to the upper floor.
When they saw the electric gate was open, they assumed the previous team had already subdued the occupants. Without bothering to check, they stormed inside.
Elena and the others followed the same plan. As soon as the thugs came into view, they opened fire, catching the criminals off guard. The thugs fell one by one, unable to react.
"These thugs don’t seem very smart," Oslo said as he cleaned up the mess.
"They’re too arrogant, believing we’re easy to handle," Xander said as he tossed the dead bodies out the window. A chill ran through him as he shuddered from the cold.
After cleaning up, they waited for more thugs to show up.
The manager was frustrated that the first group he sent hadn’t returned, so he dispatched another thug to assess the situation. Out of the original twenty, only six of them left in the unit.
Another group of thugs was sent, but Elena quickly took them down.
Meanwhile, the manager waited downstairs for nearly 15 minutes and began feeling something wrong.
His instructions were simple: They were to report back if everything was okay.
Since they hadn’t returned, it could only mean one thing—they probably couldn’t.
Panic surged through him as he hurriedly gathered his belongings, preparing to flee.
"Manager, what are you doing?" one of the thugs asked.
The manager didn’t respond and quickly left the unit. The others were confused by his sudden actions but decided to follow him.
Seeing them following him, he paused and instructed, "Grab your belongings. We’re leaving. Take your time to gather them. I’ll head downstairs to prepare the boat."
He wanted them to linger a bit, allowing him to escape. He then continues to hurry downstairs, stumbling in the dark corridors.
Seeing the dead thugs, Ethan felt the urge to finish the job, concerned that the remaining thugs might discover what was happening.
He quickly went downstairs, followed by Elena, Oslo, and Xander.
When they arrived, they found the other thugs busy gathering their belongings.
The thug was taken aback, but this time, they exchanged gunfire. The situation was chaotic, and the sound of gunshots from the thugs shattered the silence of the night.
Bang! Bang!
"Take cover!" Ethan shouted.
Seeing that they were at a disadvantage, Elena quickly improvised a solution.
She retrieved a sturdy metal door she had salvaged from the bank in City B and used it as a shield against the gunfire.
The door’s sudden appearance shocked the thugs, giving Ethan and the others the advantage they needed. With the door providing cover, they quickly returned fire.
Bang! Bang!
They managed to take down four of the thugs. The last one, desperate, reached for a grenade to end it all, unaware that Elena was already behind him.
She swiftly raised her silencer to his head and finished him off in one quick motion.
Oslo and Xander quickly assessed the situation and confirmed that no thugs were left alive in the unit. They checked one by one and realized that the manager was missing.
"The manager isn’t here," Oslo said. He then reviewed the CCTV footage from the 20th floor and saw the manager passing by.
He quickly informed the others, prompting them to rush downstairs. They were determined to confront the manager and settle things once and for all.
The manager was panting as he rushed downstairs. When the gunshots stopped, a wave of unease washed over him. He feared that Ethan and the others might catch up to him. In a moment of desperation, he quickly thought of a plan.
"Help! Help!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the corridors. "The occupants on the upper floor are robbing and killing people! Let’s unite together and fight back!"
His words were a desperate attempt to rally others to his side, hoping to turn the tide in his favor.
Hearing the manager’s frantic shout, the residents of the flooded floor, who had been living in the corridor, rushed to assist him.
They had their own grievances against the upper-floor occupants, who had long denied them access and treated them poorly.
Fueled by anger and a desire for revenge, they joined the commotion, ready to confront Ethan and the others.
"They’re the ones who tortured and killed the residents in unit 1401! Just a while ago, they raided the other floor!" the manager shouted again, desperation lacing his voice. "We need to stop them, or you could be next!"
He hoped to stir fear and anger among the residents, but despite his frantic pleas, most remained behind closed doors, too afraid to get involved in the chaos.
However, a few residents opened their units and joined the makeshift alliance.
Elena surveyed the chaotic scene as they arrived, her expression steady and unyielding.
With a cold, commanding voice, she demanded, "Where is the manager?"
Her presence radiated authority, undeterred by the residents’ angry glares.
"You criminals! How dare you rampage in this building without any respect for the law?" the residents shot back, their voices rising as they demanded Elena to step down.
They stood tall, their bravado masking their fear, viewing Elena as nothing more than the worst kind of criminal.
Elena ruthlessly kicked the speaker, fed up with their nonsense.
She raised her gun, with her voice icy and resolute. "I won’t repeat myself. This is your last chance. If you don’t tell me where the manager is, I’ll consider you all accomplices. Are you really stupid enough to believe his claims without validating them? Pathetic!"
