Beastmen Love-Chapter 116: The Most Important Thing

On the same day Astri started the trip to the United Tribes, she told Koa and Kangki about it. Koa knows that the meaning is that she might take longer to talk to him again, but he knows her safety is more important.

However, two days later he is an anxious wreck. Elder Jin is watching him ordering warriors around to disperse his anxiety, and also pressing his heir to the tribe to be more attentive to details. Everyone could notice that Koa is not on his best days and that something is making him an open nerve.

"Koa?" Elder Jin calls him.

Koa goes to him and then Jin calls him with his head to follow him for a walk.

"What is it, Elder Jin?" Koa asks, walking to Jin’s side.

"Let’s walk. And let’s talk."

They walk until they find the beach, Koa looks to the sea and his heart fills with anxiety again.

"What is happening, Koa? Is there something worrying you?" Jin asks, as they walk on the sand slowly.

"Astri.. Astri started the trip back to her castle and it would take long. She’s pregnant and she just got free from that Monster King. I’m worried she will be attacked and taken again. I feel useless." Koa admits.

"I see. I didn’t know she was pregnant. That’s good news. But traveling pregnant is dangerous indeed, even for someone as powerful as she is."

"Not helping.." Koa sighs, rubbing his face and scratching his head.

"You need to choose, Koa. Before, you chose to stay and make sure our tribe would grow for the best path possible. I understand that you’re doing something that will be good in the future, things are already changing very much around here. But I can see that your heart is not here and that you wish to be there with her more than you want to be here."

Koa silently looks at the sea again, swallowing the truth of Jin’s words.

"I promised her that our tribe would be a tribe that brings good energies to this world." Koa speaks.

"And I believe it’s possible. But your energy is not here." That had hit Koa’s heart right where it hurts. "Koa, you have the best intentions here and we know that. But your energy is getting affected because this is not where you want to be, when you take too long to talk to her you get angry easily and you start unloading your frustration on others without even knowing." Koa bites his lips knowing he was being unfair to people indeed. "I think you need to decide once and for all where you really want to be. If you want to stay, forget about her. If you want her, move on and go after her. If you died we would need to do ours best to survive too. Remember that now we know the Goddess exists and that good things will happen only if we do good things. Things will slowly grow better. You did very much for our tribe already, and that won’t be erased."

Koa sighs more relieved to hear his feelings being reaffirmed by someone else.

"I want to be there and protect her. I want to be there when she has the litter. I want to be her guardian. I want to love her." Koa admits over and over, then Jin smiles nodding.

"So you know your decision. Go, and be sure that we will be fine. You built a big base, now let your people build the rest. You accomplished many things, but don’t use your promise to be a coward and stay here."

"I was a coward... Thank you, Elder Jin. I’ll prepare to leave. Please, support the new leader as greatly as you supported me." Koa smiles at Jin.

Koa runs to his cabin, decided of what he should do now, and starts to plan his trip to his own happiness.

After Astri arrived home, her spouses made sure she was fine and healthy. Claud examined her and said that she was healthy, just tired because probably the litter or baby was consuming more of her energy.

Back in her old routine, she would have more balanced meals and she missed those meals a lot. She waits for the dinner laid on the sofa, with her head on Claud’s lap while Wayde is spooning her from behind and Lee is hugging her belly.

The others think it’s fair she staying like with them for some days since they spend so long away from her.

"Can you get in contact with Koa later and tell him I arrived? I’ll get in contact when I’m feeling less tired." Astri asks Claud.

He smiles and nods.

"Sure. I’ll do that when you fall asleep. Now, I want to be with you." He answers, brushing her hair. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"No problem." She smiles.

Wayde smells her neck from behind and moans softly.

"I missed you so much.."

All of them are feeling their minds and world going back to normal, feeling their instincts not being on high alert all the time, and also feeling calmer and relaxed for real. They don’t know what that was since Kangki took her.

"I was growing insane without you." Lee says, kissing her belly and feeling her warmth.

"Me too, loves. Now I feel complete." She speaks.

Yuki was playing with her new father Tyr. He giggles while he tickles her sides and she’s laughing like crazy. Astri smiles watching that scene. Even if Tyr and Beau didn’t watch Yuki, Kai, and Elias being born and grow a little, they treat them as their own sons and that makes Astri happy.

After having a great feast for dinner, everyone goes to bed. The bed really got smaller with two more mates and the children wanting to sleep next to their mother too. Claud waits Astri to fall asleep to go talk to Koa, he sits on the sofa and meditates. He thinks it’s strange that he’s not capable of finding him in the South Merman Tribe. So he has to concentrate more to find the direction of Koa’s energy, after several minutes he finds Koa swimming pulling a little boat with packages inside. Claud can feel Biggie swimming under him.

"Koa." Claud calls.

"Claud? Is that you?" Koa asks, but he doesn’t stop swimming.

"Yes, it’s me."

"Is Astri all right? It’s been some time she doesn’t talk to me."

"She’s fine. She arrived at the United Tribes today. She asked me to tell you the news. She’s sleeping now."

Koa smiles relieved.

"Where are you going?" Claud asks.

"United Tribes." Koa answers.

"What..?"

"My job at my tribe is done. Now I’ll protect Astri. I’ll never leave her side again."

"I see. This family looks like it won’t ever stop growing.."

"Do you think it’s possible to surprise her? I wanted to surprise her."

"She will be happy. I have to admit. Well, the only way to surprise her it’s her talking to you through me so I won’t show her where you’re going." Claud answers.

"Can you help me?"

"Depends. You will take my turns washing dishes and clothes for two winters."

"You!"

"I hate the cold water. For you, it is not an issue."

Koa clicks his tongue.

"All right. It’s a deal. But if you break the promise and tell her, you will take my turns."

"Deal."

As time passed, the family decided to widen the backyard. They build a wide extension of the walls, so they can build a vast lake where Beau can stay in his beast form even if he is not moving much.

Astri feels bad because it will feel like an aquarium for him, but he says he doesn’t mind. He can stay a long time without shifting, he just likes to be in the water from time to time in his human form.

They also wanted to make it beautiful for Astri, so they planted several trees of fruits and flowers.

Beau and Tyr are getting used to their new home and life, but they’re enjoying it very much because now they have their beautiful mate to protect and love. Everyone is watching her making breakfast for her little army, her belly is big and they can see it hurts her back, but she doesn’t let it stop her from doing things.

While making breakfast, she feels more kicks and movements than ever and that is taking her breath away. Then she felt a pressure on her belly like something was pulling her insides out, making her hold her belly in an attempt to make that feeling disappear but it didn’t.

Claud and Zin noticed she was struggling first since they knew about medicine, then rushed to her worried. The others follow them equally worried.

"Is everything all right?" They ask almost at the same time.

"I think... Hum.." She’s feeling a deep cramp. "It’s almost time." She answers.

They remove everything from the fire and then bring her to the bedroom. Claud and Zin stay with her and the others run to get everything ready like they trained before.
