Beastmen Love-Chapter 125: Newfound Powers

Kangki’s wish now is to kill all of Astri’s spouses, especially who is question his skills, but he can’t kill those males because he knows Astri won’t ever forgive him and will do everything to avenge them.

"Of course, I can, you flashy bird! The only ones who know her energy better here are me and the unicorn."

"Find her, then. Send these Monsters away and then come inside where no one will see you." Tyr says.

Kangki hates to follow orders, but he creates a portal and orders all monsters to leave. Before Kangki goes to her workshop, they hear a voice in their heads:

"It’s me. We’re fine."

They breathe a sigh of relief when they hear Astri’s voice.

"Is everyone all right?" She asks.

"Yes, we’re all fine. Where are you?" Cyprian asks.

"Very far. We will rest a little to guarantee that we can create a portal back. I used too much energy to create the shield around the children and Claud too."

"Wait where you are. I’ll be there soon. Salaz must have brought you to a territory of another Monster King." Kangki says.

"What will you do?" Claud asks.

"I’ll gather Monsters and open a portal for you to come back."

Kangki opens a portal and goes inside without hearing any answer. After several minutes another portal appears in front of everyone. Claud, Zin and Astri come through it carrying the children and then Kangki also comes from the portal. He sits tired away from the others, and watches the family reunite again.

Astri passes Yuki and Atlas to her spouses, then she walks to Kangki. She smiles at him.

"What?" He asks, annoyed.

"Thank you."

She holds his face and then he feels his cheeks grow warm, and then his whole body. He feels his strength back and then she falls sit too. Dieg quickly grabbed her before Kangki.

"You didn’t have to give me your energy." Kangki tells her.

"It’s my sign of appreciation."

"Now that you’re weak, I can kill your spouses."

"You can. But you won’t."

Her smile to him made him confused, yet happy.

"Shung is outside with other tribesmen wanting to know what happened here." Galion says from the door.

"I’ll talk to them. Some of mine also appeared here and helped us with the Monsters." Lee says.

Lee goes outside with Wayde and Galion, to calm down the tribes and create an explanation about what happened.

"How did this happen, Kangki? I didn’t know other Monster Kings could invade your territory like this." Claud asks Kangki.

"The only ones who can allow the entrance of another King are me or Khan. This won’t happen again because I killed Khan." Kangki answers.

"Is there any other way for other Monsters invading here?" Beau asks.

"Are you questioning my authority? If you’re not sure if she will be protected, then get stronger or hand her to me." Kangki hisses.

"Said the one whose own son plotted against him and almost lost your precious jewel." Tyr growls.

"Enough. All of you." Astri orders, and goes to her children that are still scared. "Everything is all right now. Come. Mommy will be with you." She says to them.

Dieg and Zin help Astri to bathe the children and put them on another bed to rest. Astri bathes too and lay down with them to make them relaxed. Astri takes the chance to rest too, Dieg and Zin stay with them fearing someone appearing again.

Claud and the others are in the living room talking, and for some reason Kangki still didn’t leave.

"Can you leave now? You make my skin crawl." Koa asks Kangki.

Kangki ignores Koa and looks at Claud.

"You and the wolf need to train the other spouses." Kangki says.

"What is he saying, Claud?" Cyprian asks.

"He’s saying that only I and Dieg have real powers to protect Astri. You all are strong to fight beastmen, but to fight Monsters you’re limited. Even more knowing that not only Monsters are after Astri." Claud explains.

"Not only her. You, Astri and your son." Galion speaks.

Astri’s spouses are feeling powerless. Beau is the strongest of all but he was limited to fight one at a time. Cyprian being a dragon, he breathes fire, and is more powerful to fight several enemies. But most of them are limited against armies that has only objective in mind.

"Kangki, let’s stop. If we end up fighting here and wake up Astri, she will be mad at all of us including you." Claud wisely stops Kangki.

Kangki clicks his tongue and then he sits on the sofa.

"If I have to come here again to protect her, I’ll take her and all your cubs with me." Kangki says to Claud.

"And I’ll kill you if any of yours threat us again." Claud answers back.

"Is there a faster way for us to find our powers, Claud?" Koa asks.

"Kangki is right. We need to be like you and Dieg to be more capable to protect our family." Tyr says.

"A King of Monsters simply appeared here and almost destroyed our castle. We also need to be prepared for the kinds of attacks they’re capable of doing. As I can see, Kings of Monsters are all capable of creating portals. We need to be smarter fighting them or else they will always steal Astri away since they know she will protect our cubs no matter what." Beau speaks.

"Beau is right. Even if we had powers but not having a strategy it would be useless. Khan acted smart, that we need to admit." Cyprian says.

"All of you are right. You need to become stronger for the enemies that are stronger. And we also need to be smarter." Claud says after brushing his hair away from his face.

"How did Kangki know about what was happening?" Koa asks, crossing his arms.

"I’ve read his mind before he left. He didn’t know Khan would do that. He was talking to Astri and she told him about her worries."

"That you two and Dieg were feeling dark energies lurking around." Tyr assumes, and Claud nods.

"Yes. He traveled his mind here and confirmed her worries, and she left quickly from nowhere. He got worried and gathered Monsters to come here."

"That’s why I saw Monsters attacking each other." Cyprian softly says.

They sigh, relieved that they have a strong ally, but also frustrated because they have to trust a Monster.

"Let’s get rid of those bodies and start planning to rebuild the castle." Tyr says and the others agree.

Claud stays to prepare the meal for Astri and the cubs while the others go clean everything with the priest guards.

Inside the bedroom, Zin and Dieg are watching Astri asleep with the cubs. Dieg knows that the dark energies are not there anymore, but he almost lost Astri again and he’s afraid of letting her alone again.

"How did you find your powers?" Zin whispers to Dieg.

"I don’t know.. When I woke up again I already had them. Everything I thought about was Astri. All the time." Dieg answers.

Zin thinks carefully during the aftermath of the battle, his senses on high alert. The air seemed charged with an unfamiliar energy, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that the earth beneath his feet held a secret waiting to be unveiled.

Zin looks at Astri. She’s his everything, and he knows that she’s the one he can talk to and share his worries or fears. He decides to wait until she wakes up, and they have time to talk.

On the next day, the field was clean of Monster bodies and the guards were already working on rebuilding the broken walls. After breakfast, Zin goes to Astri who was talking to Claud.

"Can we talk alone?" Zin asks her.

Astri could already feel that something is bothering Zin deeply. She nods and holds his hand to calm him down.

"Let the others know to not disturb us, please." Astri says to Claud, who nods in response.

Claud and Astri can feel that there’s something different about Zin. Zin takes Astri outside to sit under the tree.

"What is it, love?" She asks Zin.

He sighs, holding her hands too, in search of comfort to make his mind less troubled.

"I feel strange. It feels like there’s something inside of me." He answers.

She can feel he’s disturbed, so she gets closer to him and hugs him. He hugs her back and her scent is calming him. She takes the chance to analyze his energy and now she understands what is happening to him.

"Do not fear, love." She says.

She looks at his eyes, holding his cheeks to make him look at her.

"Take a deep breath and think. Do you really think it’s something bad?"

He does what she said and finally starts to think better.

"No. For some reason I feel it’s part of me, but it’s something different. When we were fighting the Monsters, I felt the.. vibrations, I think. That made me look after you because I was afraid of losing you. That’s why I could get to you before you were taken away." He explains and she nods smiling.

"Close your eyes, love. And relax." He obeys her and she holds his hands. "Let this energy go through you. Use it. Don’t fear, love. Just use it. It won’t hurt anyone."

He takes another deep breath and reaches out to the energy with his mind. He felt the subtle vibrations, a pulse echoing through the soil. As he focused, a peculiar warmth enveloped him, and the ground beneath him seemed to respond to his unspoken call.

Small buds burst forth from the soil, blossoming into vibrant flowers. Zin opened his eyes, marveling at the display of nature’s response to his newfound connection. A sense of realization dawned upon him, then he looks at Astri and her smile made him sure of what happened.
