Betrayed by Fiance, Embraced by Hidden Tycoon-Chapter 113: Agreement
Chapter 113: Agreement
When Abigail thought she had lost all hope and simply wanted to rest her eyes and mind, the cracking sound of the door opening suddenly stopped her.
Hurriedly, she turned to look behind her and was surprised to see another police officer enter the room. This man appeared friendly and young; she guessed he was a new recruit.
The officer didn’t come into the room but stood at the entrance.
"Miss Snow, you need to follow me to another room," he said politely.
Abigail didn’t say anything, but as she stood up from her seat, she felt her muscles sore from sitting for so long in the wooden chair. Her head spun, and she sensed her blood sugar was low as her vision dimmed.
Grabbing the edge of the table, she paused for a few seconds, trying to steady herself and catch her breath. It felt heavy and short.
"Are you okay, Miss Snow?" the young police officer asked Abigail, his gaze flashing with concern as he approached her.
"No, I’m not alright! You treat me like a prisoner, and I need to eat or drink something," she massaged her forehead.
"Please, sir, I’m not trying to make excuses. I’m serious. I might faint if you don’t give me something," she continued when his silence lingered.
She had hoped the young officer would be kinder, but he seemed just as indifferent as his senior.
"Please follow me!" the young officer said.
Feeling slightly better, Abigail followed him out of the room and down the long corridor. They soon stopped at a door with a sign that read "Meeting Room."
Abigail was shocked to see Kian seated with the police officer who had interrogated her earlier. They sat opposite each other at a large meeting table with twelve chairs arranged around it.
They seemed to be friendly, chatting and smiling at each other. However, when they noticed her presence, the officer’s expression suddenly turned stiff, mirroring the demeanor she saw earlier in the interrogation room.
Abigail clenched her fists, too angry to see that these two men were friends and that the police seemed biased towards Kian.
"Miss Abigail, please enter the room," the young police said, gesturing for her to join the others.
She walked inside and sat at the end of the table, ensuring she stayed far away from Kian. She was concerned that she might not be able to resist hitting him again if he tried to provoke her.
It would get her into more trouble if she did that in front of the police officers, right?
Abigail did not look at Kian and completely ignored him. Her eyes were fixed on the police officer to her right.
Although no words escaped her lips, her gaze clearly communicated her frustration: Why did she have to be in the same room as this damn Kian?
The police officer turned his attention back to Kian and began talking to him.
After waiting a few minutes, Abigail realized the officer had continued disregarding her. He was talking with Kian about the results of his examination.
During their conversation, Abigail learned that Kian had broken bones in both his nose and his leg.
Abigail felt completely confused about why they wanted her to overhear their talk.
Did they intend to scare her? Or were they hoping she would regret her actions and confess to what they wanted her to say?
If they wanted her to do that, they both would be disappointed because she felt no slightest regret after breaking Kian’s bones. After all, he deserved it.
While the two men chatted, Abigail became determined to sue Kian for the sexual harassment he had attempted against her. This was her only way of showing these men that she was prepared to stand up for herself in this case.
’Kian, you wanted me to go to jail? Well, I won’t let you escape from it either!’ she thought to herself, feeling empowered.
However, just as Abigail was about to speak, Kian interrupted her.
"Abigail, did you hear what we said? All the evidence that you abused me is there. And I have a witness who could incriminate your crime if this case goes to court..."
Kian paused for a smile when he saw her frown and her fierce eyes staring back at him—the same gaze he saw before this woman beat him.
"What do you want?" Abigail finally asked, noticing Kian, who seemed to be waiting for her to speak.
Upon hearing Abigail’s question, the young police officer who had escorted her earlier looked at Kian, curious to listen to his response. He knew the case but didn’t fully understand what had happened. All he knew was that this woman had attacked his senior friend.
"We are work colleagues, Abigail. I don’t want to see you in prison. With your incredible strength and martial arts skills, you may survive or even thrive in prison. But you are a young woman with a bright future. It would be a waste to see you rot in jail when you can be useful to a man like me."
Kian smiled faintly before continuing, "I want to make a deal with you so we can both go home happily." He turned to his friend and signaled for him to explain to Abigail.
The police officer smiled at Kian before turning to Abigail, his expression returning to its usual fake coldness.
"Miss Snow, all you need to do is just read and sign this agreement, and we will let you leave for now," the police officer said, rising from his chair and handing Abigail two sheets of paper.
"Mr. Kian Blake has offered you this generous agreement. He will drop his lawsuit if you agree to the terms. Be smart, read and sign it," he continued before sitting back down.
Intrigued by Kian’s terms, Abigail immediately began to read the document. However, after finishing the first page, her blood began to boil; she was furious.
’What the hell! This man is asking for 5 million dollars from me as compensation? Has he lost his mind? Where can I get that kind of money? This man is an evil lunatic!’
