Chapter 114: No CCTV Footage?

Gritting her teeth tightly, Abigail lifted her gaze from the paper before her to look at Kian. Her expression was as cold as ice, and her gaze toward Kian was sharp, like when she struck Kian in the café.

Sitting a mere few meters from her, Kian’s condescending look was suddenly replaced by a frail and frightened look.

"W-Why are you looking at me like that, Abigail? Do you want to harm me again?" Kian asked in a trembling voice while raising his hand to shield himself, scared of her.

But Abigail could see how fake he was; she saw a hint of mocking in his eyes.

"What a fake human being you are, Kian! Are you afraid of me? Tsk! Tsk! You are such a loser!" Abigail wanted to say that but was held back. She was worried she couldn’t hold back giving this evil man a powerful slap.

Amusingly looking at his fakeness, Abigail turned her gaze away from Kian, saw the police officer, and pushed the paper to him.

"I won’t make a deal with Mr. Blake." Abigail declared firmly.

Her statement made Kian laugh.

"Bwahaha, I know you will be refused. That’s why I have another choice for you, Abigail..."

Abigail frowned. Looking at him, he smiled meaningfully at her, and his lewd gaze was enough for her to understand what he wanted; she almost sent him a chair.

"You know what I mean, Abigail. If you agree, then you don’t have to pay compensation for the injury you caused me. Do you agree?" Kian asked.

Kian was curious and eager to hear her response. He believed she would accept the alternative he offered, knowing she was likely frightened at the prospect of going to jail and didn’t have the money to pay the 5 million. He was sure of her financial troubles.

"My goodness! Do you think I’m foolish enough to believe you spent five million on medical expenses?" Abigail shook her head slightly before continuing, "Even my grandma, who has a serious injury to her tailbone, only paid $25,000. You are so greedy." She looked at him with a gaze that clearly showed her disgust, taking him by surprise.

Kian frowned as he observed Abigail’s reaction.

’Why doesn’t she understand what I want? Why does she seem to reject my last offer to her?’ he wondered, frustrated by her stubbornness.

"I won’t accept any deal you offer me, Mr. Kian Blake!" Abigail said firmly before turning to glance at the young police officer sitting near the door.

"Excuse me, sir, I would like to make a report about the sexual harassment and attempted rape that Mr. Kian Blake committed against me. Where should I report it?"

Abigail glanced at the senior police officer, curious about his reaction. When she noticed his eyes widened in surprise, she smiled. Then, she looked back at the young officer, still smiling. free𝑤ebnovel.com

"Mr. Willow Reed, I forgot to inform you that I don’t want to report this case to Mr. Hubner because I know Mr. Blake is his friend. When Mr. Hubner was interrogating me earlier, it felt like he might have been biased in favor of his friend. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. I’m asking you to assign another officer to handle this case."

Hubner and Kian were shocked to hear Abigail’s words.

Not only them but also the young police officer, Willow Reed, was stunned. He was confused about how to respond to her because he was about to suggest reporting the incident to his senior, Hubner.

Willow Reed frowned at Abigail as he noticed the seriousness in her gaze.

After taking a deep breath, he replied, "Miss Snow, I can process your report, but I need to ensure you have evidence. Strong enough to bring your case to trial."

Abigail nodded, agreeing with his statement. She knew that a few CCTV cameras were installed in Lana’s office.

"Absolutely, Mr. Reed. You can check the CCTV at the crime scene. I remember seeing two cameras in that room and another at the back door. I’m confident you’ll find all the evidence—" Abigail couldn’t finish her sentence as a loud laugh echoed through the room, distracting her.

Turning to Kian with a confused look, Abigail asked, "Are you so scared that I will sue you too? That’s why you’ve lost your mind?" she calmly asked, but his reaction made her speechless once more.

After his laughter subsided, Kian pretended to catch fresh air before saying, "Oh my God, Abigail, how could you accuse me of doing that? Raping you? How could you have such thoughts...? We are friends, right!? Oh my lord, so you never thought of me as a friend? That’s why you hurt me?"

Abigail was utterly speechless talking to this shameless man. How could he appear so calm and convincing after he showed his devilish attitude at the scene?

"Miss Abigail... Let me remind you that Mr Kian can sue you for defamation if your accusations are unfounded," Hubner, the senior police officer, chimed in.

"Thanks for your reminder, Mr. Hubner. But I have decided to continue reporting it. If this case is proven, be prepared to taste prison, Mr. Kian Blake."

Abigail glanced at Kian quickly before turning to see the young police again. "Mr. Reed, I will officially make my report. Please tell me how to report it."

Willow Reed stood from his seat, but Kian stopped him before he left the room.

"Yes, Mr. Blake? Do you want to add something?" asked Willow, confused by Kian’s calm attitude in the face of such serious accusations. He didn’t seem worried, even though someone had reported him for rape.

"You don’t need to process Miss Abigail Snow’s reports because the CCTV in the room was broken. It’s useless. Moreover, I have a witness who can confirm that night; Miss Snow admitted to my witness that she beat me," Kian explained calmly, with visible arrogance.

"What? No CCTV?" Willow exclaimed in disbelief. He turned to Hubner. "You investigated this case. Is Mr. Blake telling the truth? Is there really no CCTV footage from the crime scene?"
