Chapter 200: Wedding Day (4)

Abigail was shocked to see the paper in her hand. After a quick read, she realized it was a copy of the apartment ownership certificate, clearly displaying Hannah’s name.

She lifted her head to meet Hannah’s eyes. "Mo-mother, what is this? Did you give me the wrong box?"

Hannah laughed at Abigail’s words, shaking her head lightly.

"Oh, Abigail, I didn’t give you anything by mistake. This is your wedding gift from me and your father-in-law. This is just a copy of the apartment certificate. I’ll ask Sawyer to help you change the name before you can get the real one."

Hannah’s explanation shocked Abigail even more. This was the second most expensive gift she had received in just a few days. Sawyer had gifted her a building not long ago, and now his parents gave her a luxury apartment.

Abigail could estimate the apartment’s price just by looking at its location. It was in a prime area on the business district’s main street.

Even if she had enough money to buy an apartment there, she knew she couldn’t, as there were strict rules governing property purchases in that location—rules similar to those for Sawyer’s house in the Garden Hill complex, which also had outrageous prices.

’Gosh! If people discover that my husband and mother-in-law have given me a building and an apartment, they might think I’m a gold digger. Should I accept this gift or ask Sawyer for his opinion before deciding?’ Abigail felt thoroughly puzzled.

"Abigail, are you alright, my dear?" Hannah gently touched Abigail’s shoulder, noticing she hadn’t spoken, and looked puzzled. Instead, Abigail was staring at her with an empty gaze—she looked dazed.

Realizing she had been lost in her thoughts, Abigail smiled apologetically at Hannah. After a moment, she managed to say, "Mom, this gift is too expensive for me. I can’t accept—"

"Take it, Abby..." Sawyer’s voice interrupted Abigail, causing her to turn toward the door where he stood.

Abigail’s calm heart began to race as she saw her soon-to-be husband. He looked incredibly handsome, his suit fitting perfectly over his tall, athletic frame. His black hair was stylishly swept back, and his jawline was impeccably clean. He appeared different from how she usually saw him, which only deepened her love for him.

A happy smile graced her lips, and her eyes sparkled lovingly as she watched him. When he started walking toward her, her heart raced even faster. She completely ignored the people around her for a moment, feeling as if they were the only two in the room.

For the first time since meeting him, Abigail was utterly mesmerized by Sawyer’s charm.

She had often doubted her ability to heal from her broken heart. She had been afraid to accept Sawyer as a lover and had never once expressed her feelings for him. But now, she was sure she had genuinely fallen in love with him.

"I love you, Sawyer Jones!" she said silently, enough for Sawyer to read her lips. He halted just a few steps away from her, and their eyes remained locked.

"I love you more, Abigail Lewis," Sawyer roared, prompting Hannah and Martha to glance at them.

As they observed Sawyer and Abigail exchange affectionate gazes, Hannah and Martha quickly realized what was happening: These two lovebirds needed some privacy.

Hastily, Hannah and Martha moved to the corner of the room to give them some space.

"You look stunning in that dress, Abby," Sawyer said, reaching out to her and gently pulling her closer.

They stood facing each other, with no distance between them. He smiled sweetly and continued with his heartfelt words, "My love, I feel so lucky to be your husband. I will always be grateful to have you in my life and want to spend forever with you."

Abigail felt warmth spread through her at his sweet words, and the look in his eyes made her heart swell with happiness.

"You look great too! I feel foolish for only realizing how deeply I love you now, Sawyer James. I love you..."

Abigail struggled to put her feelings into words, but one thing was sure: she felt like she was on cloud nine as she confessed her deep emotions to him. She could tell that Sawyer was eagerly waiting for this moment to hear her express her love.

Sawyer wrapped his arms around Abigail’s slender waist, gazing lovingly into her eyes. For a brief moment, they stood there, exchanging silent admiration for one another.

Soon after, Abigail noticed Sawyer leaning in; she closed her eyes, ready to accept his tender kiss.

However, Martha’s voice interrupted, causing Abigail to open her eyes abruptly.

"Save your kiss for later, young man, or you’ll ruin Abigail’s makeup!" Martha chuckled, noticing the confused expressions on her grandson’s handsome face.

Sawyer froze, just inches from Abigail’s lips. He quickly pulled back, turning to face his grandmother and mother. The two women were looking at him and smiling. Both threw a teasing smile.

In disbelief, he frowned. ’What the...! Why are they still here!?’

He had been utterly unaware of their presence in the room. Just moments before, all his attention had been on Abigail, captivated by her ethereal beauty.

Sawyer loosened his grip on Abigail’s waist, allowing her to stand beside him.

Holding Abigail’s hand, Sawyer addressed the unexpected guests, "Grandma, Mom, why are you still here? The event is about to start. You can join the others downstairs."

Martha and Hannah didn’t respond to him. Instead, they exchanged amused glances, laughing at Sawyer’s words.

"Mother, you heard that. My foolish son didn’t even notice us!" Hannah said, looking over at Sawyer and Abigail.

"Hahaha, you’re absolutely right, Hannah. Sawyer is completely mesmerized by Abigail’s beauty; he didn’t even glance in our direction."

"Mother, it’s fine. I will forget him this time because now, the day I have been waiting for, my son is finally married to Abigail," Hannah sincerely expresses her happiness. She smiled lovingly at her daughter-in-law.

"I agree with you, Hannah. And now we have Abigail on our side. We’ll ask her to teach Sawyer a lesson if he makes us angry," Martha added, looking at Abigail. "Right, my dear Abigail? You’ll be our ally, won’t you?"

Abigail momentarily lost her words.

Sawyer’s jaw dropped upon hearing them.
