Chapter 57: Humans Powerhouse

However, like everything, there were exceptions.

Two figures, Crev Posqu, head of the Mirage, and Erand Dulash, leader of the Guild Hall, were gaining the upper hand against their respective opponents.

From the first, it was to be expected—after all, his fighting style was completely skewed towards the use of unique equipment, rare artifacts, and all sorts of objects.

Around him floated dozens of glowing devices and hovering mechanisms that created barriers, launched darts, and absorbed enemy energy.

After all, his concept, Unlimited, allowed him to use every tool without any limit. Things like cooldowns, limited uses of certain equipment, and anything else were free, restricted only by his essence.

But that didn’t mean he would win. After all, the use of external tools was never the deciding factor in battles at this level, unless the item used was truly on another level.

The other figure, Erand Dulash, on the other hand, was extremely strong. He didn’t use external tools; he had honed his instincts and attacks by putting himself at risk at every moment.

His concept, Indomitable, reflected his lifestyle. But unlike what one might expect, his style was precise and calculated, not reckless.

The reaction times of his body had reached such a level that they were mostly automatic. His body reacted to threats autonomously.

His eyes didn’t move, but his body did. Like a beast in hibernation fighting in its sleep, every move was perfect, fluid, lethal.

And then there was The Immutable.

Unlike the others, he was not fighting wildly. He merely dodged and observed. His face, adorned with a mysterious and perpetual smile, betrayed no emotion.

The devil was not getting the better of him, but neither did he have the advantage. They seemed evenly matched.

"Not bad, though." An exclamation slipped from his mouth.

Watching the battle, Jeremy understood one thing.

They were all weak.

So why the exclamation?

Jeremy’s face was thoughtful and excited. Cambela turned to look at him.

She couldn’t understand what he was referring to. After all, the fight was, at best, ordinary. There was nothing thrilling about it.

"These humans all have the potential to become magnificent Aberrations."

His mind worked quickly, imagining unnatural fusions and transformations, hybrids of powers and bodies, a symphony of flesh and concepts.

His eyes shone at the thought.

In particular, observing the four humans with elemental powers, Jeremy immediately thought of merging them into a single individual with incredible abilities.

Meanwhile, Victoria was stunned. She couldn’t watch the battle as a spectator like Jeremy and Cambela. After all, her family was fighting there too.

Her grandfather, Lord Felicitas Amabel, was among those losing. But he was not the only one. The Lords of the other noble families were also losing.

Tears stung her eyes but did not fall. Her mouth was tightly closed, her hands clenched into fists.

"Who are those?" Jeremy finally asked, not taking his eyes off the fight.

Cambela immediately understood who her master was referring to.

"Those four with elemental powers are the heads of the noble families. The one full of treasures, Crev Posqu, is the owner of the Mirage I told you about before. The other guy, Erand Dulash, is the head of the Guild Hall, while the old man with a stoic expression is the one who spied on us at the Velvet Lotus. He’s the most mysterious of all."

Cambela briefly described their strengths and powers, things Jeremy had already seen with his system.

"And finally, there are those two. I don’t know much about them, only that they are brothers involved in shady business."

Meanwhile, Victoria was anxious. Besides her grandfather, she was worried about the other three Rank S members of her family.

They were fighting against devils but were not gaining the upper hand despite their numbers.

Victoria wanted nothing more than to rush into the fray and help, but she knew her aid would be pointless. After all, the battle that would decide the victory was among those of Rank EX.

Her heart beat strongly in her chest, as if wanting to leap out and join the fight before she could.

Jeremy and Cambela, followed by the silent Aliken, were in no hurry to join. They were waiting for something.

Meanwhile, Yvanna was in another place. She had not participated in the fight because of this matter.

Before her was a choice.

To accept or not an inheritance.

The current strongest human, Yvanna Sariel, daughter of Emperor Ydra Sariel, had to choose.

To be bound or to be free.

In the place where the woman stood, there was only a dilapidated statue, lit by a couple of torches. The atmosphere was solemn.

The stone walls were covered in ancient carvings, and every step she took echoed like an eternal reverberation.

The statue, after all, depicted Emperor Ydra in minute detail.

Beneath it, a sphere of midnight blue floated serenely.

It was a Nodum, literally a knot between veils.

Despite its resemblance to Gates, this Nodum was something else entirely. It did not connect two worlds but two Realities.

The difference?

Yvanna knew it very well. She had always trained within that Reality.

Every time she left it, she became stronger.

That Reality, after all, did not represent a different world.

It was a simple parallel Reality. The entire Azure world existed within it, identical yet different. Very different.

In that reality, the human race had been annihilated; monsters were the true rulers of the planet.

And the planet itself had evolved to facilitate the growth of its dominators. The monsters were not simple. Every Rank EX beast represented a unique challenge.

Each territory had hundreds. Each with its own history and strength.

A kingdom of horrors, where every step could be the last. And it was there that Yvanna had chosen to forge herself.

This was how the world would have been if her father, Emperor Ydra, had never existed.

In the past, Yvanna spent a lot of time inside this Nodum.

It was a place dense with energy, a refuge suspended between realities that had allowed her to grow beyond human limits. Every time she entered, she felt the presence of her father, as if the echo of his will still reverberated within those walls.

Her strength and talent were not only due to her concept, inherited from her father, but also thanks to her discipline and willpower.

Now she had to choose.

Would she fully accept her father’s legacy by assimilating the Nodum, or would she leave it there as a last memory?
