Chapter 163: Chapter 163

Death Lock.

This was the first Death Element skill that Aaron was able to find, instead of inheriting from increasing his rank.

All this time, whatever Death-related skills he had came from increasing his rank from Rank-0 to Rank-2. Other than this way, he had no other way to get the Death Skills.

Now he spotted a Death Skill, no matter what, he wanted to get the skill and when he saw the details of the skill, his fervour to get the skill by any chance increased.

--

Death Lock (Rank 0): Lock onto any target within 5 meters, without alerting the target as long as they are not higher rank than you. Once locked, the target can’t escape the next attack as long as they don’t exceed 15 meters. The range increases with an increase in the rank of the skill.

[Note: Even common detection skills can’t detect them.]

--

This is a pure support skill, which doesn’t give out many benefits, but no one can say that it is useless.

It can lock a target within a certain range, and as long as the opponent is not of a higher rank than you, they can’t detect the lock, unless they have some unique detection skills.

Once locked, they can’t escape the next attack that they have to face. There is no way for them to dodge or evade the attack. It means one can sneakily lock their target first and attack, which would definitely befell the target.

Though there is a range limit, one needs to understand that not many can escape such a range, and the range of the skill also increases with an increase in its rank. He doesn’t lack SPs. So, as long as he can bring the rank to bronze or silver, then not many can be capable of escaping his attacks.

So, it was a must.

After bargaining for fifteen minutes, Aaron was able to buy the skill. Since Death Skills are rare, the shopkeeper quoted a high price, which was out of budget for Aaron. Though he has a few treasures that he can sell, he doesn’t want to, as all of them are related to Death.

Though they are not useful at the moment, they could be useful later on. So, he kept most of them and sold only low-level ones before. What remained with him is not to be sold.

So, he had to bargain for a while to afford the skill. In the end, he got the skill but ended up creditless. There are no more credits, whether that was Alliance Credits or Dusk credits, but that matters not.

Since the next stage was the final stage, it was guaranteed that no matter how they perform in the next stage, the academy would be in the top four, maybe even three. So, the rewards that the alliance and the academy would give would be very high.

So, no need to worry about anything.

After buying the skill, he returned to the hotel. The same night, he used the skill scroll to learn the skill and upgraded the skill directly to Rank 9, similar to how he increased Mana Shield to Rank 9.

Normally, skills like Mana Shield should be increased through practice or by fighting against monsters, but he is now at a stage where the enemy attacks would be only problematic if they were as powerful as them.

So, a weaker shield would be useless. So, he increased its rank.

---

The third day went by without much. As he lacked credits to buy anything, Aaron chose to stay in the room and had a nice chat with Lyanna about the Auction that was held the previous day.

A lot of big shots appeared for the auction, even one of the human gods appeared.

In these chats, Lyanna spilt a secret that was not a secret anymore. The human god was someone who took Mary Hinters as her disciple. Lyanna didn’t name the woman but she revealed that about her.

The reason why she was in the auction was because she was there to buy a resource for Mary. It was a Light Crystal, which can increase the EXP.

The day went out while talking like that.

Once Aaron returned to bed after dinner, he gave a quick check of his status.

Similar to previous days, the FSPs and SPs are decreasing without any increament, but Aaron knew that the increaments that he would get soon would be more than before.

He is at level 145 and that means only five levels more to reach level 150, which the boundary end for Rank-2 and the start of Rank-3.

At Rank-3 one would gain 40 FSP and 16 SP per level, but with his perk of 100x, he woud be getting 4,000 FSP and 1,600 SP per level. So, he doesn’t need to worry much about the lack of FSPs or SPs any time.
