――In the northern part of the continent where Kanata and Co. were staying, there was a realm of monsters untouched by human hands. Deep within that land, a giant structure known as the 《God's Arm》 could be found.

Inside the building, three figures were present.

Sitting on his throne was the masked man, the 《World King; Veranta》.

A person whose body was covered with cloth inscribed with magic formulae, the 《Void of Silence》, Zero.

And lastly, a three-meter-tall man clad in demonic armor, the 《Demon King of the Sixth Heaven; Nobunaga》.

These three were part of the 《Five Fingers》 of the 《Invisible Hand of God》, an organization created by higher beings to manage Locklore from behind the scenes.

「You’re not going to tell me to prepare more boring stuff, are you?」

Veranta raised his palm, and a magic circle appeared, summoning a large crystal.

「《Hades Scale》… a tool to locate the 《Hades' Impurity》. Lunaire is enveloped in a dense amount of it. These rings will indicate her general direction and distance. No matter how elusive she is, she’s dancing in the palm of my hand.」

Veranta touched the rings surrounding the crystal.

「I’ll use this to lure Lunaire into a trap. Whether or not we can kill her, it’ll at least buy us enough time to kill Kanata. You’ll be responsible for killing him during that window.」

「A trap to buy time, huh? As boring as ever, Veranta.」

「Kanata has comrades and might have some trump cards as well. Nobunaga, this time I want you to stop fooling around and use your demon sword, 《Time Flux》, from the start.」

Nobunaga snorted at Veranta’s remark.

「Sorry, but I refuse. It’s been a while since a strong opponent like this showed up. It’d be boring to take him down immediately with this sword. Veranta stood from his throne.

At that moment, Zero, who had been silent until now, started trembling.

The usually silent Zero spoke in a childlike voice.

「Did you just hear that?」

Nobunaga asked Veranta.

Zero, also known as the 《Void of Silence》, had never spoken before.

Even Nobunaga was sure the voice he just heard came from Zero’s direction.

「Zero spoke? Are you sure it wasn’t just your imagination—」

Before Veranta could finish, the massive doors of the base representing the 《God’s Arm》 were kicked open.

Both Veranta and Nobunaga were left speechless, their attention focused on the figure standing in the doorway.

「S-Such audacity to barge into this sacred place! Do you even know who we a—」

Veranta gasped upon recognizing the intruder.

Pale bluish-white skin, devoid of vitality.

Snow-white hair with red tips, as if soaked in blood.

The girl standing before them was none other than the fantastically beautiful, yet terrifying Lunaire.

「Y-You are… Lunaire the lich, I presume!?」

Her dichromatic eyes glared directly at Veranta.

「Since you know me, you should also know why I’ve come to this hard-to-reach place. It seems this is the hiding spot of the pests who have been sniffing around Kanata.」
