Dominant Marriage: The CEO's Overbearing Love-Chapter 36: The Bloodstains on the Clothes
Chapter 36: Chapter 36: The Bloodstains on the Clothes
Putting down the things in her hand, she turned her head and looked around. It was then she noticed the mess of red on her rolled-up sleeve. The blood had already dried, leaving a large red stain where she had rubbed it.
When the wound was pulled, blood flowed out again.
Gu Qimiao hurriedly covered her arm with her hand, looking everywhere for something to treat the wound.
Shen Yanchen, thinking she had already fallen asleep because it was almost eleven, was about to check on her in her room. Outside, he noticed her light was still on.
He walked over and directly twisted the doorknob, face stern, intending to scold her for not being asleep. But upon entering, he saw her white sweater smeared with blood and her arm, squatting by the bedside cabinet, anxiously searching.
He stepped forward in two strides, grabbed her arm, and pulled her up, frowning deeply, "What happened?"
Seeing it was him, Gu Qimiao immediately lowered her head guiltily, stammering, "I, I don’t know either..."
He turned her arm around. Fortunately, the wound wasn’t deep. He directed her to the bed, his tone unfriendly, "Sit down!"
Gu Qimiao obediently sat on the bed, her face full of grievance.
About to be scolded again...
After a while, he came in with a small first aid kit, glaring at her with dissatisfaction, roughly twisting her arm and picking up alcohol to clean the wound.
No matter how rough he was, she didn’t say anything, fearing that a wrong word would set him off.
He rummaged through the box for a while. Probably finding no band-aids, he simply picked up a roll of gauze and wrapped it around her arm a couple of times.
Though his face was stern, his movements when bandaging were still gentle and delicate.
After wrapping, he let go of her hand abruptly, his tone annoyed, "Don’t get it wet!"
Gu Qimiao replied with an "Oh," and pulled down her sweater sleeve to cover the gauze.
Before she could catch her breath, he snarled at her again, "Aren’t you going to change your clothes?! Do you think the stains look nice?!"
Not daring to hesitate, Gu Qimiao quickly took out her pajamas from the wardrobe and slipped into the bathroom, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
At that moment, she felt pretty safe hiding in the bathroom. Thinking he would be less angry the next day, she didn’t want to come out too soon, so she took a quick shower. Since he told her not to get the wound wet, she awkwardly held up that arm during the shower...
She dawdled before coming out, thinking he must have left by now.
As soon as she opened the bathroom door, she saw that tall figure that couldn’t be missed.
He was standing by the desk, packing away the things she had left unfinished.
Seeing her come out, he turned his head for a glance and then picked up the art knife they bought that afternoon, saying, "Put the blade away after using it."
Gu Qimiao remained obedient and silent, saying only "Oh," then carefully walked to his side, packing her things into her bag.
She thought keeping quiet would avoid trouble, but a scolding was still inevitable.
"Do you know what time it is now?"
She lowered her head and remained silent, looking like she knew she was wrong.
After packing everything up, she stood there feeling that no matter what she did, she would be scolded.
He glanced at her coldly, "Still not going to bed?"
Upon hearing that, Gu Qimiao immediately felt rescued, placed her bag by the bedside, lifted the quilt, and obediently lay down.
Shen Yanchen sighed helplessly from his nose, looking at her with closed eyes on the bed. He helped turn off the room light and then closed the door.
Once the door closed, Gu Qimiao opened her eyes, her gaze bright even in the dark.
She listened for the sound of his door closing, then cuddled into the quilt, relaxed her body, and closed her eyes.
His presence in the room slowly faded, but it was firmly imprinted in her memory. Just thinking this was his room put a smile on her face even in her dreams.
