I watched as more and more people awakened.

It was reaching its end soon. Except the one, who awakened a legendary core, none other did anything special.

Now only a few were remaining.

As the names on the list got lesser and lesser, Ayesha looked at me and asked,

’Are you alright? It isn’t boring, right?’

’Nah, I am fine, aunt.’

’Don’t worry, I will call you soon. Only 5 people are left now.’

I simply nodded my head at her and didn’t say anything further.

It was then that I felt a pair of curious eyes looking at me from behind.

I turned around to find that, a girl of around 5 feet height with a beautiful yet cold face was looking at me.

Her eyes were particularly eye catching.

Vertical pupils... is she a beast?

[She is a dragon, husband. Sigh, another one...]

Hey, what are you sighing for?

"You..."

And when I looked at her, she opened her mouth and called out to me, pointing her finger at me.

"Me?" I refuted.

"You are a demon." She said, nonchalantly.

It surprised me. How did she find out?

"What nonsense are you spouting?" I said, trying to decline her claim.

"I can smell it, you are a demon."

"Look little girl..."

I was about to tell her to buzz off, when a thought hit me.

She is a dragon. Even if she was one it isn’t easy for anyone to find me when I am hiding my aura demonic aura. Only a demon might be able to sense me.

Is she a demon as well?

[Correct, husband. She has some demon lineage.]

So, i was right.

"Who are you?" I asked.

There mustn’t be many dragons. Heck I haven’t seen one yet.

"I am Vaelora. Who are you?"

"Me? I am no one."

Even if she knows i am a demon, there is no way to prove it. So it doesn’t matter at all. And I don’t want to waste my time talking to her.

"That is not fair. You asked me my name."

"And I am not obliged to tell you mine. Just leave." I simply shrugged her off.

’Such a weird guy, I wanted to ask him about this thing inside me. Guess he isn’t one either.’

She looked down, but i couldn’t care less about it.

I was waiting for my turn which was about to come now.

Ayesha finished calling the last one and now it was finally my turn.

"Now, for our last candidate on the list. I would like to call... Ravi."

But as soon as Ayesha called out my name. An uproar erupted in the crowd.

"Huh? Who is this nobody? Where is the dragon girl?"

"We waited for so long to see my goddess. Where is she?"

The same two guys spoke up with the loudest tone.

Wait, how the fuck did i miss this?

She is the one they have been talking about? Did I go dumber?

Well, it doesn’t matter.

I took my steps ahead. Seeing me walk towards the stage, everyone’s eyes turned at me.

"Wait, isn’t he that arrogant guy who came from that chariot?"

"What? Does he think he is some kind of main character in a harem novel written by a lazy ass author?"

"But why is he going towards the awaken circle?"

"Don’t tell me that he is going to take the awakening test."

"But he isn’t stopping? Is this really the plot where mc surprises everyone when he awakens?"

"Is he really going for that?"

Their chatter grew louder and louder.

Same as them, everyone else was shocked too.

To calm them down, Ayesha spoke up and revealed the truth about me.

"Everyone, please calm down. He has a special condition. He might not look like it, but he is still 10 year old who hasn’t taken the awakening test."

But instead of claiming them down, it caused an even more uproar.

"If that is true then... the mana that he is exuding right now..."

"Such thick and dense mana, and he is just 10 and hasn’t taken his test yet?"

"What kind of monster is he?"

It finally hit them. The fool and the clown they thought was actually the monstrous genius.

"Who is he? Why have we never heard of him before?"

"Among that dragon girl and him, who could be stronger?"

All of their minds were filled with such thoughts.

And when I reached the stage, just a few steps away from awakening circle, all of their voices fell silent.

Their eyes eagerly watching me. Even the ones on the top floors were watching me.

Watch me everyone, I will show you the difference between you all and me, here and now.

I gave a nod at Ayesha whose eyes couldn’t stop gleaming with pride and joy.

After that I walked towards the awakening circle.

Even if I said I didn’t care whatever I awakened, but now that I stood here, it feels a little tense. My heart was beating faster, and I looked forward to my awakening.

And as i stepped inside the awakening circle which was actually a runic symbol. Just a glance and I could tell, ut was beyond my capacity to decipher it.

Inside the circle, it was a different feeling as if I wasn’t inside the cathedral at all. It felt like a completely new and strange place.

[Husband, cut your finger and drop your blood fast. Don’t ask me anything and do not talk to me now, just do it.]

And as i was about to reach the center of the circle, Zixane’s voice filled with panic rang in my head.

I didn’t ask her why, she won’t say anything if it’s not for me.

So without saying anything, I pinched my fingers and dropped a blood of mine to the circle.

And as i reached the centre of the circle, a terrifying bolt of lighting fell from the sky and hit that drop of mine. Turing it into oblivion.

It happened so fast that I couldn’t even keep up with it, that was no ordinary lighting at all. It contained a might, a might far beyond mine.

But this wasn’t the first time I felt that. I have sensed that before as well.

It was at the time when I stepped on the stairs of ascension and was hit by this same bolt.

So someone is there, purposefully targeting me.

He doesn’t want me to ascend, neither does it want me to awaken.

Out of nowhere, I felt a thrill. It was coming without my true emotions, was I excited? No, I wasn’t. Or scared? Neither that.

It was a feeling that came from some part of me which I had no idea of. As if it wasn’t my emotion at all.

So was it finished now? Are they done, trying to take me down.

I looked around, but to my surprise, the outside world was completely fine.

Did they not see that bolt of lightning?

Maybe they are unaware?

I looked ahead once again, but I did not sense anything weird anymore.

That feeling of me being inside a different world was gone now.

And as soon as that disappeared, I felt mana around me.

The awakening circle was lighting up. My awakening was in progress.

If the circle if working then I am sure I wouldn’t go away without anything.

Slowly, the mana gathered around me. It covered me completely as if forming a new layer on my body.

Ahh... I missed this feeling for so long.

I let the mana caress me and as that was happening.

I felt something inside my stomach. I looked inside and found that beside my demonic core, a new core was taking shape.

And as it did that, I felt a burning sensation all over me.

My body trembled, my muscles churned up, tearing my flesh from inside.

This was my sideffects for having two different cores.

Though, my body acted up and healed me from it, but the damage continued.

I still went through it. I won’t give up doesn’t matter how much it hurts me.

And soon it was formed.

My body was idle for this. Me having the world tree branch made this much easier. But I am glad that I did not have to go through it for long.

But even after my core was formed, ut still wasn’t finished.

It looked like a brown crystal at first, but as time went by it began to change its colour.

So this is what all of them went through. And this was why it took longer for the ones who awakened higher grade core.

My core changed from bronze to silver pretty soon and it didn’t take long for it to change to a gold one.

More and more mana went inside me and soon my gold core turned into a glass like core.

This was one of the rarest core, which is enough to consider one a genius if they have it.

The legendary core.

But that wasn’t the end of it.

The glass like core evolved more and it turned into a pristine one, with some patterns on it.

Is this a supreme core?

Not much different huh?

It felt like it stopped there.

So I awakened a Supreme core...

Huh?!
