61: Chapter 61 Last Night was Really Intense

61 -61 Last Night was Really Intense

Sophia Hart stayed up all night watching a program, excited all evening long.

Early in the morning, she yawned as she opened the door and walked into the house.

Her eyes were blurry, and in an instant, they widened.

She saw a man, wrapped in a bath towel, carrying a bowl of something out of the kitchen.

“?”

James Thompson lazily glanced at Sophia Hart, didn’t bother with her, and went straight into Julia Land’s bedroom with the bowl of porridge.

He had someone buy this porridge, and he just went to heat it up.

Sophia Hart wanted to follow him into Julia Land’s bedroom, but James Thompson closed the bedroom door.

Not just closed it, he locked it too.

“Don’t come in.”

“?”

Brother Thompson’s voice was so husky.

The question was, what’s going on now?

James Thompson placed the porridge on the coffee table, walked to the bedside, shook the quilt, and languidly said, “Little Julia, have something to eat before you go back to sleep.”

The person in the bed didn’t respond.

Julia Land was still in a deep sleep.

Not even ten bulls could rouse her.

James Thompson lifted a corner of the quilt and stretched his hand inside.

His fingers were cool because he just touched water.

His fingers started at the thigh, slowly moving upward.

Julia Land jolted, trembling all over, and rolled to the other side of the bed wrapped in the quilt.

She was slightly more awake now.

“Get up and eat something.”

“I don’t want to eat,” she mumbled with her eyes closed.

“Hmm.”

The bed sank.

James Thompson’s arm was propped above her, and the warmth of his thin lips moved from her ear, to her cheek, to her neck.

Teasingly slow.

At this rate, if Julia Land didn’t wake up, she would be a pig.

“I’m up.”

Her voice was plaintive.

The man heard the response, reached into the quilt, and carried her straight to the bathroom.

“Shoes, shoes, I can do it myself, thanks.” The sudden suspension made her fully awake.

Julia Land rubbed her head; she was genuinely very tired.

James Thompson looked down at her, his eyes casually asked, “Did you drink last night?

Do you remember what I told you?”

Julia Land shivered, almost on the verge of swearing, her scalp tingling, “I remember, I haven’t forgotten.”

James Thompson chuckled softly, carried her to the sofa, and went to get her slippers.

He bent down to set the slippers down, looked up, and suddenly told her, “Something you used to love doing was to hook your legs around my waist.”

“?”

Julia Land swore he was making this up.

He was trying to implant memories that weren’t there.

James Thompson suddenly looked down, lost in thought, “It’s just a pity, you’ve forgotten all of those things.”

Julia Land laughed awkwardly, “Sorry.”

She put on her slippers and silently walked into the bathroom.

She closed the bathroom door and grimaced.

Julia Land came out after brushing her teeth and washing her face, her mind now clear.

She was somewhat unsure of how to face James Thompson.

Inside the bedroom, it was very quiet.

She carried the bowl of porridge out of the bedroom, “I’ll eat in the living room.”

James Thompson followed her out.

She was still wearing last night’s pajamas, her two fair legs exposed.

When Julia Land sat at the dining table eating porridge.

James Thompson also sat beside her.

It was very oppressive.

He tilted his head, watching her eat.

Waiting for her to finish the last spoonful of porridge.

He suddenly reached out, lifted her chin.

And planted a kiss.

“I used to kiss you often too.”

Julia Land was stunned.

James Thompson brushed her red lips with his fingers, chuckled lightly, and went to open the door as the doorbell rang.

Jasper Winters handed the clean clothes to James Thompson, who took them and went into the bedroom to change.

Before long, he came out dressed, adjusting his cufflinks.

He looked at Julia Land, “I’m leaving now.”

Julia Land nodded, “Oh.”

“…”

“…”

James Thompson didn’t move; his gaze deep, he said languidly, “Before, when I left, you would always give me a kiss goodbye.”

“Impossible.”

James Thompson gave her a sideways glance, his quick wit shining through as he smiled and closed the door behind him.

Sophia Hart, who had been peeping through a crack in the door, saw that James Thompson had left, opened the bedroom door, and pretended to swagger over to Julia Land, “Julia, are you and Brother Thompson an item now?”

Julia Land rubbed her sore hands and lower back, “No.”

Seeing her rubbing her hands and waist, Sophia Hart snickered, “You two really went at it last night.”

Julia Land, “…Don’t overthink it.”

She took the bowls to the kitchen, washed them, left the kitchen, and got ready to go back to sleep; she had made plans with Austin Langston for the afternoon.

“I’m going to sleep.

We’ll talk tonight if anything comes up,” Julia Land ruffled Sophia Hart’s hair.

“Okay,” Sophia Hart yawned, “I want to sleep too, last night was quite the show.”

The bedroom doors closed once again.

Julia Land returned to her bedroom and first checked her phone messages.

Thomas Sullivan had sent several messages scolding her for taking consecutive days off.

Julia Land saw them but didn’t reply.

She flopped onto the bed and slept.

James Thompson went downstairs, and the driver opened the car door for him to get in.

Jasper Winters followed, taking the passenger seat, and turned to say, “Someone was just taking pictures.”

James Thompson looked indifferent, “Investigate it.”

The car started moving.

James Thompson thought of Little Pear with her listless face listening to him talk about their past moments, and his eyes curved into a subtle smile.

He took out his phone and sent a message to Julia Land.

James Thompson, [Today you have to buy me slippers]

It wasn’t until four in the afternoon that Julia Land woke up and saw James Thompson’s message.

How obsessed can this man be with slippers?

In the living room, Sophia Hart had also gotten up.

She ordered takeout.

As she bowed her head to look at her phone and ate, she didn’t notice Julia Land approaching.

Sophia Hart’s phone screen was on the social feed; a post by Chloe Sullivan.

Julia Land raised an eyebrow and bent over to peek.

Sophia Hart was too late to hide her phone.

The post from Chloe Sullivan read: Came to the hospital today, feeling a bit nervous, but thanks to Brother Thompson.

Below was a photo of James Thompson in a white coat looking at a computer, the angle suggesting it was taken secretly.

Thompson’s face was pixelated, only recognizable to those who knew him.

Julia Land stood up straight, tapped Sophia Hart’s dangling head, “Why so guilty?

Don’t be silly.

I’m heading out; we’ll go out for dinner.”

Sophia Hart looked up, smiling, “Okay, I’ll wait for your call.”

Julia Land had a meeting with Austin Langston at a secluded restaurant booth, but halfway through the drive, she received a call from James Thompson.

“Little Pear, Noah Quarter has people tracking you.”

Julia Land paused, her voice laced with sarcasm, “He’s quite something.

Let them follow.”

James Thompson chuckled, his fingers playing with a cigarette but not lighting it, his voice lazy, “Have you realized yet that liking him isn’t worth it?”

Julia Land, “You make a good point.”

She ended the call.

James Thompson’s thin lips curled into a slight smile.

“Brother Thompson, what are you smiling about?” Chloe Sullivan got into the car, holding a small bag, “Can you check if these are okay for pregnant women?

They’re all supplements.”

James Thompson looked into the bag of supplements, “They’re fine, just don’t eat too much.”

He asked casually, “When are you going to tell your family?”

Chloe Sullivan’s smile faded as she looked down and fiddled with the supplements in the bag, whispering, “After three months, when the fetus is stable, I’ll tell them.”

By then, they would think of her health and wouldn’t make her abort the child.

“From now on, you can contact Jasper Winters directly for anything.”

James Thompson’s words were normal, but the implication was clear: she should not contact him directly.

Chloe Sullivan blinked her expressive eyes, “Why?”

“My woman can be quite jealous.”
