"This is the device?" Anna looked at the device that looked like a small ball curiously.

The device was a ball with some kind of control below it. It looked quite interesting if one had to say.

"Yes." Derek smiled. "We use special material for the glasses so that it can hold your ability’s inside and then calculate it. This way, we’ll be able to count your ability and see which range it is. There’s also small scanner inside so that if you can’t really pour your ability out, it can still scan."

Anna nodded and looked at it curiously. "How do you pour out your ability? I usually just pour it in the shape of my plant."

"Try to pour it outside without any shape and then touch the device," Derek explained.

Anna looked at it for a few times and then try to pour out her so called ability out to her hand and then stopped it in front of the ball. As it touched the device, it seemed that some part of the ability entered the ball shaped machine.

After that the screen below flickered a few times before it stopped at rank 6.

After that, there was a word written below, wood element.

"Rank 6 is the highest rank. It can be literal rank 6... or your ability is far higher and it couldn’t quantify it," Derek explained.

Anna looked at the device and then nodded.

Dylan stepped forward and tested his too.

His result was the same as Anna.

Rank 6.

Ice element.

While Dylan felt that he might be truly at this rank, Anna’s rank might be higher but this device couldn’t sense it at all.

"Then, how about me?" Alicia asked curiously. She also wanted to test her rank, but she didn’t even know how to show her ability out like how others did. After all, her ability was to dream.

"That’s why there’s also the scanner." Derek smiled helplessly and then operated the device in front of him. This device has been used by many people in the research institute, mostly to test whether the device worked or not.

After he finished the setting, he nodded at Alicia, who stood in front of the device and then put her hand on top of it.

The device rang for some time before it showed the ranking.

Unique ability... time and space related ability

"Huh? I’m already a rank 3?" Alicia was stunned.

She felt that while her dream was more often lately, but her degree of control towards her own ability seemed to be lacking. No matter what she did, it was hard for her to truly see what she wanted to see.

But the device told her that she was already rank 3.

It was surprising.

"Those with unique ability didn’t feel much improvement but their rank was actually already pretty high based on the standard made by the research institute," Derek explained.

"That’s the classification of the unique department ability. The device can detect what type of ability you have but it was not very accurate for now."

Looking at the classification written there, Derek knew that it was time for the researchers to work again. Inputting the parameter for those of unique ability was a bit difficult and it would take some time for them to finish everything.

Alicia nodded and then asked, "What’s your rank, Derek?"

"I’m rank 3," Derek replied.

And from rank 1 to rank 3 of the space ability, there was truly no improvement whatsoever. He had eaten a lot of big mutated animals’ meat and also vegetables, but his ranking improvement could be said to be slow.

This should be the case for most people in the unique department.
