Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1478: Perfect Analysis
Chapter 1478: Perfect Analysis
As Rain pondered these questions, a sense of unease came at the back of his mind. The thought of facing an opponent with such vast and unknown powers was a daunting prospect, to say the least. But even as he grappled with his doubts and uncertainties, Rain remained resolute in his determination to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Thinking about that was no good... Rain would only waste time and get overly worried. In any case, the first encounter made him think that Rais didn’t hold... summoning a bunch of the robots and pulling them back as soon as he learned just one thing from Rain... he didn’t care about the cost, as long as he obtained any information, he would be fine with it.
While Rain was thinking about that, the robots that he destroyed began to glow on the ground, and before long... all of them turned into dust as a weird computer-like analysis light crossed through the whole thing.
"... That was the second level of information absorption," Rain thought. "Truly off the charts and... I guess all of his skills in that field are going to be way higher than mine."
"Strength level 954 according to your species standards. Dexterity level 789 according to your species standards... intelligence level 2005 according to your species standards. You must be the one called Rainendall—the one who defeated Hilo and Loks. I can’t understand how you defeated them with your current level of strength. They all had at least two times more than you, considering the same parameters and thousands of times more resources and energy than you."
Rais’s voice rang out with a calm and composed tone, betraying little emotion as he assessed Rain’s current level of strength. It was clear that he possessed a keen understanding of the intricacies of combat, able to gauge Rain’s prowess with precision based on the damage he had inflicted upon the robots.
Rain couldn’t help but be impressed by Rais’s analytical skills. To accurately determine his level of strength based on the damage he had caused was no small feat, requiring a deep understanding of both combat mechanics and the capabilities of his opponent. Moreover, the fact that Rais’s assessment aligned perfectly with Rain’s own calculations only served to underscore the accuracy of his analysis.
Indeed, Rain knew that he possessed 954 more strength than an ordinary human, a fact that had been confirmed time and time again through his own training, experiences, and the path system. Hearing Rais echo this fact only served to validate his own assessment of his abilities.
"Nice to meet you, bro. Why don’t you try to be a good guest and introduce me to your base? I can tell that you put a lot of thought and care into it."
Rais ignored Rain’s words and soon used Portal Conjuration once more... he wasn’t there to mess around or entertain Rain. New robots arrived from the portals, at least ten of them, and Rain frowned since they were a bit different, even though they passed a similar feeling... essentially, they had spikes covering their whole bodies, and they had swords in the places of their arms.
"I guess he is going to act moronically just like the others..." Rain thought.
The void cannons were no longer there, so the creatures were ready to face Rain at close range... Rain should be pretty confident with that since the monsters charged at Rain without any hesitation. Rain used Impulse and then collided against five of those creatures and then sent them flying in the distance. Along the way, they fell apart... However, when Rain stopped moving, he flinched a bit... the skin of his left arm had been completely peeled at the moment of the attack...
"A counter-attack skill that reflects damage instantly?" Rain thought while groaning.
The other robots closed in to attack Rain once more. Attacking them physically would cause the same effect, but using magic would probably do nothing. As soon as the swords of the enemies were about to reach him, Rain distorted the space around him and then made the swords hit the robots instead... they suffered damage thanks to the initial attack, but soon they suffered more damage thanks to the counter and their forms began to crack a bit.
"I need to find a better way to deal with them since they can’t grant me any experience..." Rain thought while he was healing himself.
Rain’s arms were healing faster, but soon, the robots disappeared once more... Rain could tell that Rais would soon send version 3.0 of those creatures, but he wasn’t willing to waste any more time. Rain grabbed the ominous sword and then equipped the wrath path... he jumped once before becoming a dark spear rotating that began to pierce that massive planet... Rain barely felt the resistance of the land, and that showed how much his power had increased since the last time he used that technique...
"Your strength level increased by 255% percent thanks to the power of wrath. It seems that you are a good vessel for the corrupt power."
As Rain observed Rais’s demeanor and interactions, he couldn’t help but draw parallels between him and Hilo. Both displayed a certain machine-like efficiency and precision in their actions and speech, devoid of the emotional changes that characterized many organic interactions. It was as if they were programmed to approach every situation with calculated logic and detached indifference, much like true machines.
Given this similarity, Rain wondered if Rais would undergo a transformation similar to Hilo’s. Would he, too, evolve over time, becoming someone who was deeply passionate and enthusiastic about battles and combat? Given the unpredictable nature of the machine gods and their propensity for change, Rain couldn’t ignore this possibility. freewebnøvel.com
But even as he considered this question, Rain knew that he couldn’t afford to let his guard down. Whether Rais remained stoic and detached or underwent a radical transformation, he remained a formidable opponent, one who posed a significant threat to Rain and his allies.
