Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix-Chapter 1496: Location
Chapter 1496: Location
"We didn’t have time to find him... the dragon god found him somehow and then attacked him," Sealyn explained. "Before long, the spirits and the mana of that world went crazy, and then he appeared before us. He thanked us for becoming a bait for him and it was because of that that he wouldn’t kill us immediately. He said that he would only take half of the forces as test subjects. Before we could do anything, half of us lost consciousness."
"... Who are the ones who lost their souls?" Rain asked.
"... It appears that the dragon god choose the ones who had low magic resistance," Seadrei replied. "That is why he was so fast to take down half of us."
"All of them were people that didn’t have access to the paths system for long," Roan added. "As much as that is vexing, it isn’t the worst of the problems."
"I know... the planets are moving toward the center of the machine gods territory," Rain said. "The final three are on the move... they want to keep all the places that we can hide within their territory in order to be able to fight us with their full power."
Rain wondered how that was possible, even though it was logical... moving all the planets in the Galaxy should be just plain impossible... perhaps Loks would have enough Mastery of that in the future, but it would require a stupid ammount of energy. However, Rain soon came up with another explanation.
According to the Big Bang theory, the universe began as an infinitely dense singularity from which all matter and energy subsequently expanded outward in a colossal explosion. As the universe continued to expand, galaxies, stars, and planets formed, eventually giving rise to the vast and diverse cosmos we see today.
With this in mind, Rain speculated that Lonos may be utilizing the aspect of time in a manner akin to reversing the cosmic clock, so to speak. Just as the Big Bang marked the moment when all matter in the universe was concentrated together before rapidly dispersing, Lonos’s manipulation of time could be causing all matter to regress to its original, primordial state of unity.
In essence, Lonos’s powers may be acting as a cosmic rewind button, reversing the flow of time to bring about a convergence of all matter back to its initial state. This would explain the unusual phenomena witnessed by Rain and his companions, as well as the unsettling implications of Lonos’s intentions.
"That idea seems insane... but not impossible," Sakaki said. "If Arel is helping Lonos, then it should be possible. Besides, by just moving the planets, they should be saving an obscene amount of energy instead of just rewinding time completely."
"I can’t understand even half of that... but that doesn’t mean that even if we try to buy time, Earth will be destroyed eventually?" Terra asked.
"... You are right," Rain said after a bit of deep thought. "Since they are the final three, they aren’t joking around." fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"The real issue is that the dragon god will probably wait for another chance to strike by surprise and gain power once again," Esmeralda said. "He doesn’t gain anything by joining the fight in the beginning, and he doesn’t care about anything else aside from his own ass."
"We don’t have any other options aside from fighting together in order to make sure that he won’t catch us off guard," Regis said. "Still, if they work together, they won’t stand a chance, and we need to attack them before they realize what hit them."
"How can we do that when they can predict the future with the aspect of probability and have all the energy to use that power?" Sealyn asked.
"We need to cut that power first... so our first target should be Arel," Rain said.
Rain shared his thoughts with the group, pointing out that Arel’s base would likely be situated near the largest and most energetic star in the universe, a celestial body that would serve as a beacon of power and influence, drawing upon its vast energy reserves to fuel her operations. Such star was pretty well-known and that would explain the reason of the changes in the geography of the cosmic space.
In the vast expanse of the cosmos, one particular star stood out above all others: UY Scuti. Located in the constellation Scutum, UY Scuti was a red supergiant star, a colossal behemoth whose sheer size dwarfs that of our own Sun many times over. With a radius nearly 1,700 times greater than the Sun’s, UY Scuti reigns as one of the largest known stars in the universe, its luminosity shining brightly across the cosmic landscape.
Given its immense size and prodigious energy output, UY Scuti would undoubtedly serve as an ideal location for Arel’s base of operations. Its formidable stature and boundless energy would provide her with the resources and power she needed to further her goals and ambitions, making it the logical choice for the epicenter of her operations.

"... The overseer sure is trying to annoy me with this," Rain said. "Anyway, we don’t have time to learn and teach anything else, so we will have to face Arel immediately."
"With her ability to control energy, she should support the main group," Sakaki said. We still won’t have much time to deal with her before the others interfere."
