Life Before Becoming an Omniverse Entity-Chapter 112: Elf Dungeon
Elaris, silent until now, finally spoke. Her tone was serious and composed.
'Renan, just focus on clearing the Elf Dungeon first. You'll understand everything afterward.'
Renan frowned slightly at her cryptic response. But then the frown faded, and he simply nodded.
'Alright,' he said, continuing toward the city gate with calm resolve.
After reaching the city gate, Renan got out by showing the tree stamp sign and telling his name. After leaving the Elf Empire, Renan didn't waste any more time and disappeared after making some distance from the city toward the Elf Dungeon, which just like the dwarf one, was not much away from the empire—at most ten to fifteen minutes walk away.
"There it is," Renan said after finally reaching the dungeon, but from far away since there were guards stationed in front of the gate to guard it, and from their mana fluctuations and their aura,
Renan judged them as seventh circle mages, just like the dwarves who were also in the seventh stage but in the warrior's path. And unlike back then, right now he was much stronger, so his hypnosis should work on them easily without any problem.
The dungeon itself also was not much different than the dwarf one, but unlike the dwarf dungeon which was just a big simple door, this one was decorated with flowers and grass growing on it, making it look beautiful and old at the same time. The design was clearly made to resemble nature and to give off a majestic ancient vibe.
After having enough of watching, Renan finally walked out of the forest in his true form, a halo shining behind him, his pure white eyes focused ahead on the guards that stood before the dungeon gate.
"Huh?" Both of the guards looked surprised by Renan's sudden appearance out of nowhere and even more shocked by his ethereal looks. But just as they were surprised momentarily, they quickly composed themselves, and then they focused back on Renan who was walking toward them at a relaxed, leisurely pace.
"Halt! This is the gate of the Elf Dungeon. No one is allowed here, so stop right in your tracks!" one of the guards spoke, raising his wand in front of him, ready to shoot whatever spell he intended to use.
Renan still didn't stop, continuing to walk like he was just taking a stroll through the park.
And the guards, seeing Renan not stopping, raised their wands in sync, ready to fight at a moment's notice.
'Oya,' one of the guards communicated telepathically to the other.
'What?' the other guard asked back.
'Something is not right. The way he's walking to us so relaxedly could either mean he's an idiot who doesn't know better, or he's just that confident. And I think it's the latter. After all, he's not even responding to our words, so this could mean he's an enemy—and a dangerous one at that. So I will try to hold him back. You retreat back and report this. Bring reinforcements as soon as possible. Do you understand?'
'Yes, I do,' replied the other guard without arguing.
'Good. Then at the count of five, you run away and I'll engage him,' the first guard said. And just as he was about to start counting, the unknown man finally spoke, surprising them both.
"What a smart Elf you are—but what a pity you met me," Renan said. And in the next second, his pure white eyes shone with a golden gleam, casting that glow around them and the guards who were looking directly at him.
They stopped moving in their tracks and turned their heads down, standing there like frozen statues. Which, in truth, they were not. But after a while, they raised their heads back, and Renan saw their faces which were not much different from before, but their eyes—once filled with life—now looked utterly lifeless, like a puppet's.
Renan continued walking and reached the gate. Slowly, he stretched his hand out to touch it. And the moment his hand made contact, some blue light shone on him and he disappeared from his place. And just as Renan vanished, the guards whose eyes were lifeless turned back to their original, life-filled state, but now there was confusion in their expressions. For a second, both of them turned to look at each other.
"Huh? What were we doing?" one of the guards asked.
"I think I was going to get some food for you and me," the other replied.
"Ohh right, I just forgot. Anyway, hurry up and go. I'm hungry," said the first.
"Okay okay, I'm going," the second guard said and walked away while the other resumed guarding the gate.

*THUD*
Renan stepped into the cave. Yeah, that's what it should have been—but what Renan saw just left him speechless.
"Is this really a cave?" Renan said aloud as he looked around at a supposed cave that was filled with green and bustling grass, many flowers here and there, and lanterns attached to the walls to illuminate the space. It was nothing like the dwarf dungeon, which was like a grave—filled with bodies and darkness.
"But there is no sunlight... how can those plants stay alive?" Renan muttered as he looked around, confused.
"Renan, look closely," said Elaris to Renan mentally, her voice curious.
"Okay," Renan replied as he looked more carefully, and then he noticed—the flowers and grass were not real. They were all fake, designed to mimic nature.
"Huh... but why would someone even put fake flowers and grass in a dungeon?" Renan asked Elaris, feeling puzzled.
"Oh well, I guess they just liked nature too much that they were even willing to place fake things close to them," Elaris answered calmly.
"I see," Renan said and started walking again, now uninterested in the fake greenery.
And so he continued to walk, and this dungeon was not much different than the dwarf one, as it also had just a straight path like a tunnel.
While Renan was walking, Elaris spoke again. "Renan, be careful. I know you're stronger than your previous self, but you should still be careful and always stay vigilant—especially in this dungeon," she said, her voice filled with worry.
"Don't worry, Elaris. I won't let my guard down like I did in the dwarf dungeon. So relax, and I'm also way stronger now, so don't worry," Renan said back reassuringly to her.
Elaris got quiet after hearing Renan's reassuring words and let him walk in silence. Soon they reached the end, and a large hall came into view. And there, he saw a shadow Elf woman sitting on some kind of box that looked like it was made of silver.
The shadow Elf woman was not much different than the shadow dwarf he fought—her whole body made of black shadows. In her hand was a large wand, bigger than her. Her height seemed to be six feet, and the wand was slightly larger. At the upper side of the wand was a large hollow space in which a black diamond gleamed. She sat on the box, resting her head on the wand, not even moving when she saw him.
So without any wait, Renan stepped into the hall. The shadow Elf was still sitting there, watching him like he was some weak idiot. Her arrogance couldn't be hidden, as Renan could clearly tell she was underestimating him due to his stage two power. And Renan, who saw this, couldn't help but smile.
'Good,' he said, and in the next second, he used the space element and disappeared. Without wasting time, a katana of ice formed in his hand which cleanly cut off the shadow Elf's head.

"Wasn't that too easy?" Renan said as he looked at the cut-off head of the shadow Elf now lying on the ground. But just as those words slipped out of his mouth, something unexpected happened.
The head that was lying on the ground flew back just as it fell and attached back to the body. And he himself, who had teleported behind her, also teleported back to the spot he was in before—like everything, even the space itself, had rewound back to a few seconds ago, leaving Renan stunned.
"Huh?"
