Lord Of Doom!Reincarnated Into a Novel as the Strongest Side Character-Chapter 66: Dimensional Mastery
Chapter 66: Dimensional Mastery
Gojin smirked, and instantly he vanished, mysteriously gone without a trace. Even the demon was unable to sense his strong presence. The demon’s figure resembled a writhing shadow, concealing its true inner self; this was a highly defensive technique.
Suddenly, Gojin reappeared, floating mid-air with his blindfold removed. His piercing emerald green eyes shone brighter than a candle’s flame; they lit up, radiating like wild fire.
The demon looked up at him, and while no emotions were visible through the shadowy cloak, its body language conveyed fear.
"You want to know something very interesting, buddy? Life is unfair, and at every turn, there’s an opportunity that can only be seen by the wisest of the wise. You recently gained the chance to eliminate me, and trust me, I was stunned. But foolishly, you were too blind to see and utilise that opportunity. Now I will use mine, which is not an opportunity, but a full display of superiority. I shouldn’t be talking this much."
A sudden gust of wind enveloped the entire area, tearing debris and pulling up dust. The wind howled, nearing the force of a EF0 Tornado. The walls began to bend, and rooftops shook, nearly flying off. However, it seemed this was an abandoned area, a suitable place for demons like this to lurk.
One of Gojin’s infinite techniques was Dimensional Mastery, the ability to connect with other dimensions, albeit limited to this world. This meant he could create about seven laps of this world; destroying one fully would affect the second closest to it, but not the third. In contrast, destroying 4 out of 7 of these laps would damage the rest. Majority rules.
In reality, he had never tried out the technique and had only caught a glimpse of it. Of all his infinite techniques, he possessed many. But despite their infinite nature, a few were locked, as his body wasn’t at the peak point of a Celestial soul—a cosmic being—and he still had a very long way to go.
He was still an Overlord at this point, though powerful in his own right.
Gojin sneered as he watched the demon take a step back and attempt to flee by teleporting. Unfortunately for the demon, there was a restriction in place. Due to the active technique, no opposing powers could be used, and to add salt to the wound, the demon was unaware that it wasn’t in the real dimension, but in another lap.
However, Gojin was still unable to destroy the entire world, even if he were to use his Heavenly Devouring Eyes, which had revealed another surprise just two days ago. He would still be incapable of taking down the whole world, even with his other two Heavenly Eyes.
The world maintained a spiritual balance that encompassed the three elements of life: Divinity, Mysticism, and Consciousness, which ultimately generated Ki. Since he was unable to challenge these three elements yet, he couldn’t bring down the world. Yes, in other words, he was weak against the world and the multiverse.
Soon, the technique reached its full optimisation, and five rifts opened up around the demon. In truth, he could easily exorcise the demon without the need for this technique, but he wanted to inflict the worst kind of death he had just imagined.
As the five rifts pulsed ominously, Gojin stood at the centre, his expression a blend of fierce determination and sadistic delight. He could feel the raw power coursing through him, an insatiable force yearning for release. The demon before him, bound by an unseen restraint, was utterly defenceless, stripped of its powers and at the mercy of Gojin’s martial prowess.
With a swift motion, Gojin lunged forward, unleashing a rapid series of strikes. Each punch landed with bone-crushing force, sending shockwaves through the demon’s form. It writhed in agony, yet the gravitational pull of the rifts held it firmly in place, unable to escape the onslaught.
Gojin continued his assault, and he sensed the presence of his other self—a dark reflection of his own power—manifesting within the first rift. There, his counterpart mirrored every move, delivering brutal blows to the demon as well. The creature now endured pain from two fronts with two bodies, each strike resonating like the echoes of 9,000 lashes—a relentless barrage that tore at its very essence.
With a calculated pivot, Gojin executed a spinning kick that connected with the demon’s midsection, sending it crashing into the second rift. The moment it collided, his other self awaited, ready to unleash another wave of torment. The demon found itself subjected to a flurry of kicks and punches, each blow amplifying the suffering already inflicted.
"Is this the might you boast of?" Gojin taunted, his voice dripping with disdain.
As the demon staggered, Gojin pressed on. He transitioned into a low sweep, knocking the creature off its feet once more. Its body flickered, struggling against the gravitational pull of the rifts, yet it remained ensnared in the relentless grip of the active technique —the spiritual enslavement, unable to escape the torment.
In the third rift, Gojin’s other self mirrored him perfectly, executing a powerful uppercut that sent the demon’s head snapping back. The agony was compounded, each strike resonating as though the demon were receiving lashes from its past, present, and future—pains that threatened to tear its form apart.
Gojin advanced, delivering a brutal knee strike to the demon’s abdomen—if it had one. The impact was devastating, and the creature gasped, ichor spilling from its wounds. Gojin relished the sight, his grin widening as he observed his other self continue the assault in the fourth rift, where the demon was subjected to yet another series of punishing blows.
"Feel the weight of your arrogance," Gojin growled, his fists raised. He unleashed a barrage of strikes, each one calculated to inflict maximum pain. The demon could do nothing but endure, its form flickering as it struggled against the endless assault.
Finally, Gojin summoned the energy of the fifth rift, channeling it into a final, devastating blow. He executed a spinning backfist that connected with the demon’s temple, sending it crashing into the rift. There, his other self awaited, poised to deliver the coup de grâce.
The demon lay vulnerable, Gojin approached, gripping its throat with one hand, lifting it effortlessly off the ground. The creature’s features twisted in agony, its body quaking under the dual onslaught of pain from both Gojin and his other self.
"Now, let us conclude this," he said, his voice low and filled with anticipation. The demon’s body strained against the gravitational forces, threatening to tear apart under the pressure. Yet, the binding force of Dimensional Mastery kept it still—a cruel reminder of its helplessness.
With a final surge of energy, Gojin prepared to execute the horrific act.
His eyes glowed a deep purple, and the effect of his devouring gaze took hold.
Demons and Exorcists, unlike humans, possess two souls: one rooted in life and the other in the beyond—the latter serving as the foundation for Ki and granting them an advantage over mere mortals. Gojin, however, possessed an additional soul—one linked to his God-like form, a conduit to Doom. This unique aspect of his being allowed the devouring eyes to give him a significant advantage; he could obliterate the two souls of either entity, leaving their bodies intact yet rendered immobile and spiritually lifeless.
But that was merely the beginning of what these eyes were capable of...
"Why not join the army I’m assembling? You could be the inaugural member of my demonic legion."
Gojin had begun to harbour the plan of building a demonic legion, whereby they would battle against their own kind. The best way to destroy enemies is to make them fight amongst themselves.
