"HYUNG, should we buy a bigger bed?"

Sohee had just finished getting ready for their date when Kim Heedo said that.

He turned around to face his husband, and found him barely sitting on the bed. Well, he wasn’t allowed on Sohee’s bed because he was already wearing his outside clothes.

Oh, we’re matching.

To be fair, both Sohee and Kim Heedo had basic sense.

I mean, people find us stylish. But we’re not as fashionable as those men who can pull off wearing skirts and the likes. We just look neat all the time.

"Your bed is too small for both of us, Hyung."

"Isn’t that the reason why we have separate rooms?" Sohee asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "Just sleep in your own room. Why do you keep sleeping in mine anyway?"

"Because we’re married," Kim Heedo insisted. "Even Eomma and Abeoji still sleep in the same room, on the same bed. Why can’t we do the same?"

"To prevent pregnancy?"

"Hyung, we always use protection. And I take Plan Zero diligently."

Oh, right.

Plan Zero is a contraceptive Alphas use to prevent getting their Omegas pregnant.

It seemed like Sohee was already running out of excuses.

"Hyung, do you hate sharing a bed with me?"

Look at the brat using his lethal face card to appear pitiful.

Let’s just come clean.

"Heedo-ya, ever since you started sleeping in my room, there was never a night that we just slept," Sohee complained lightly. "Of course, I don’t mind doing it with you. But there are days when I need to get up early. Yet you don’t listen to me and continue "torturing" me all night. Plus, even when I tell you not to leave marks on obvious places, you still do. So, sometimes, I’m forced to cover up even when it’s hot."

Kim Heedo had the audacity to look shy. "I’m sorry about that, Hyung. You’re just so cute that I can’t help but "bully" you. I especially like it when you cry under me."

"How shameless."

"I promise to be gentler next time, Hyung. And I’ll leave marks in hidden places. So, let’s buy a bigger bed, hmm?"

This brat really knows I’m weak to his handsome face!

"I’ll think about it," Sohee said, avoiding Kim Heedo’s gaze because he didn’t want his husband to think that he had that much power over him. "Let’s talk about this again after your sex ban."

"Yes, Hyung," Kim Heedo said. Surprisingly, he didn’t sound down or disappointed. "For now, I’ll look for a good store for shopping beds."

"HYUNG, your expression today looks fierce."

"Thank you," Sohee said. He was usually a chill guy, so he was often smiling and laughing. Especially these days. However, for today’s "mission," he had to act tough. "Do I look scary enough?"

"Stop being horny, Kim Heedo," Sohee scolded Kim Heedo. "You better calm down before Dr. Seong arrives."

Kim Heedo just shrugged.

Sohee almost had a heart attack when they heard someone clear their throat quite loudly.

When he turned to the door, he saw Seong Kyungmin finally enter his office.

He could instantly tell.

Dr. Seong saw it— he saw Kim Heedo and I flirting!

Sohee was embarrassed, but he realized he had nothing to be embarrassed about.

After all, this is the same doctor who checked on my condition after I stayed with Kim Heedo during his rut.

"I’m sorry for being late," Seong Kyungmin said when he sat on the chair behind his desk. "Are you here for a consultation?"

"A consultation for you, Dr. Seong," Sohee said with a serious look on his face. Then he put his elbow on the table and leaned forward. He made sure that he maintained the expression that made Kim Heedo say he looked like an angry chihuahua ready to bite at any moment. "I heard you’re conducting an experiment to prove that Kim Heedo has "evolved" and turned into a Hyper-Dominant Alpha."

Seong Kyungmin looked surprised, and then he glanced at Kim Heedo.

"My husband deserves to know the truth about my condition, Dr. Seong," Kim Heedo said, shrugging. He addressed the doctor by his title instead of ’hyung’ as if he was trying to put a distance between them. "Plus, you said that my change might have something to do with Sohee Hyung. So, I thought I should let him know."

Ah, this is the first time I’m hearing this, though?

"What did Kim Heedo mean by that, Doc?" Sohee asked curiously. And, yes, he was still trying to look scary. "I have something to do with Kim Heedo’s evolution?"

"There are only a few pieces of information available about Hyper-Dominant Alphas, and most of them were unfounded. However, there’s one thing in common," Seong Kyungmin explained calmly. "All the studies I’ve read that mentioned Hyper-Dominant Alphas say that the change was triggered by their ’fated pair.’"

Oh.

As an Omega, Sohee had already heard about the thing called ’fated pair.’

It’s cringey, but when you’re young, everything is cringe for you. But now that I’m an adult, I’m more open-minded.

Hence, he kept his mouth shut while listening to the doctor.

"Apparently, when a bonded Dominant Alpha finds their fated pair, they "level up" and becomes physically stronger than they already are," Seong Kyungmin explained, and then he touched his nape. "The ’Bond’ happens when the Dominant Alpha bites the back of the Omega’s neck. But their cycles have to be happening at the same time. In short, the Dominant Alpha must be in their rut and their Omegas must be in their heat. After that, if the Dominant Alpha notices the increase in his pheromone level, then we can assume that he has started his evolution."

"But Kim Heedo and I haven’t bonded yet," Sohee said, knitting his eyebrows. "What could have triggered his evolution then?"

"That’s what I’m trying to find out, Park Sohee-ssi," the doctor said. "But I believe that Kim Heedo-ssi’s evolution hasn’t officially started yet. I think his pheromone level has just increased because he found the Omega he wanted to protect with his life."

Huh?

"Is that why you asked me when exactly I felt stronger than normal, Hyung?" Kim Heedo asked the doctor eagerly. "Come to think of it, my strength increased whenever I’m trying to protect Sohee Hyung."

Seong Kyungmin nodded carefully. "The two of you haven’t bonded yet, but it seems like Kim Heedo-ssi and Park Sohee-ssi are what we call a ’fated pair.’ I know it sounds, uh, cheesy. But, apparently, a fated pair is an Alpha-Omega pair that helps each other grow stronger. In a literal sense, that is."

But Sohee couldn’t complain because Kim Heedo’s face beamed with happiness.

"None of this is conclusive yet, so please allow me to observe you two," Seong Kyungmin said, sounding more serious than he did earlier. "Kim Heedo-ssi, Park Sohee-ssi, please allow me to conduct a little experiment with you."

"Hyung, it’s fine if it’s just me. But you can’t force my husband," Kim Heedo said sternly, and then he turned to Sohee. "Hyung, you can say no."

Right.

However...

"I’d like to be included in this experiment," Sohee said firmly, holding Kim Heedo’s hand tightly. "And, Dr. Seong, I’m warning you— this experiment has to be confidential or else, I’ll bite you."

Seong Kyungmin flinched as if Sohee’s threat worked.

However, Kim Heedo had a different reaction.

"Only bite me, Sohee Hyung!"

"FIRST, you asked for miracle pills. And, now, you’re asking me to kidnap a child. Who knows that a famous pretty idol like you is so twisted in the head?"

Lee Junsu ignored Jin Taejoon’s provocation.

After all, he wasn’t feeling that well yet to pick a fight with a loan shark.

He felt even worse that he had to meet the thug in the shady, studio apartment that Sangwoo rented as their "base."

It was the perfect location since not many people would go there.

"I don’t need your opinion," Lee Junsu said, scoffing. "Just make sure that you won’t fail."

"Let me ask you a question first."

"No, you’re not allowed to ask questions."

"If you don’t satisfy my curiosity, then this deal is over."

Lee Junsu wasn’t really in the mood to be snarky, so he just sighed and gave in. "What do you want to know?"

"Why do you want to be an Omega?" Jin Taejoon asked, leaning against the backseat of his chair. "You already have a perfect life as a Beta."

A ’perfect life,’ huh?

How could an incomplete life be ’perfect?’

"I need to be pregnant," Lee Junsu said indifferently. "That’s how I steal someone else’s luck and perfect life."
