Married For Now-Chapter 102: THE KIDNAPPING DAY
Chapter 102: THE KIDNAPPING DAY
"GO GUNJOON’s school will decide whether your half-brother will get expelled or not next week. They’re giving him a chance to confess his crimes. If not, then the school will take "drastic measures.""
Sohee frowned after hearing what Kim Heedo said about his half-brother’s situation.
The two of them were about to sleep— yes, in his room and on his bed again— when his husband received a report from Shin Kang via email.
And Kim Heedo read that report as if he were reading Sohee a fairy tale before bed.
I already expected it, but my half-brother’s situation really sucks.
"How about my mother?" Sohee asked awkwardly. He was still not comfortable talking about his mother. But it was a situation that called for it. "What is she doing to get my half-brother out of trouble?"
"According to Ahjussi’s report, your mother begged the school principal and the parents who demanded Go Gunjoon’s expulsion to have mercy on her son," Kim Heedo said carefully. "As you already know, your half-brother is on scholarship. If the school decides to kick him out, he’ll not only lose his current scholarship— but he might not also receive another scholarship once he transfers to a different school."
That sucked.
Of course, a public school was an option.
But it seems like my half-brother is aiming for the top universities in the country, so he might want to stick to a private school.
For the record, Sohee wasn’t shitting on public schools.
It’s just that attending a private school is ideal for college admissions.
It was a bitter reality.
"What do you think, Heedo-ya?" Sohee asked, shaking his head to get rid of unnecessary thoughts. He hesitated at first, but in the end, he finally asked the thing that was making him nervous: "Is my half-brother really a drug pusher?"
Mr. Shin has already dug deep into this case, so they probably already know whether my half-brother is guilty or not.
"According to Ahjussi’s investigation, that doesn’t seem to be the case," Kim Heedo said while shaking his head. "Apparently, Go Gunjoon named another student as the owner of the drugs found in his belongings. Your half-brother insisted that he was just an errand boy for that student. But..."
"But?"
"That student came from a powerful family."
"Chaebols?"
"No," Kim Heedo said while shaking his head. "They come from a family of politicians. The kid’s father is the mayor of their city. Worse, they are related to the school principal."
Sohee let out a sigh. "So, my half-brother will probably get expelled from school."
And if the drug scandal got on Go Gunjoon’s records, then his school life might as well be over.
He might find it difficult to enter a good school after everything is over.
"What do you want to do, Hyung?" Kim Heedo asked, wrapping an arm around Sohee’s waist and pulling him closer to his side. "If you’re not ready to face your mother and her new family yet, then I can help them in your place. I’ll talk to your mother and introduce myself properly. Then I’ll lend them our family’s legal representatives."
"Can you win against a family of politicians?"
"Hyung, did you really have to ask that?"
Right?
It was a silly question.
"Ahjussi believes your half-brother is innocent, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, rubbing the side of Sohee’s waist. "If that’s the case, then we can easily prove his innocence. We just have to get rid of the people sabotaging your half-brother’s case."
His husband sounded confident, so that put Sohee at ease.
Marrying a chaebol is really the best decision I’ve made in my life.
"I’m sorry, but I need to ask for your help, Heedo-ya," Sohee said, already feeling apologetic because he was asking his husband to do something that he should be doing himself. "I want to help my half-brother, but I’m not yet ready to face my mother."
It was pretty hypocritical of Sohee, to be honest.
I enjoy drama, but I cower when the drama involves my family.
"No need to apologize, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, gently squeezing his waist. "Since we’re already running out of time, I’m going to talk to your mother the soonest."
"When would that be?"
"Tomorrow."
"Right away?"
Kim Heedo once proved that he was GoldHee’s father by pouting. "Well, I don’t have a class tomorrow. But I can’t spend my day off with you because you have a "date" with Garam Hyung-nim."
"It’s just a date between two new friends," Sohee said, patting Kim Heedo’s leg to console him. "Plus, Garam Hyung-nim wants to introduce his son to me."
"That’s the thing, Hyung— I want to see you playing with a baby."
Aigoo.
"I won’t forgive you if you stalk me again, Kim Heedo."
"Yes, Hyung. I won’t do that," Kim Heedo promised. "That’s why I’ll keep myself busy by helping your half-brother. But that doesn’t mean that’s the only reason I’m helping them. Please don’t misunderstand."
"I know, and I didn’t misunderstand. Thank you."
"Hyung, don’t get too close to Garam Hyung-nim."
Oho?
Kim Heedo didn’t sound jealous.
In fact, his husband sounded genuinely concerned.
That was why Sohee didn’t scold Kim Heedo.
But what he said makes me even more curious.
"Why not?" Sohee asked curiously. "I don’t think you dislike Garam Hyung-nim."
"I like Garam Hyung-nim as a person, but his husband is a dangerous man," Kim Heedo said in a serious tone. "Sihyuk Hyung-nim, just like most Alphas, is jealous and territorial. But even among Alphas, his possessiveness over Garam Hyung-nim is on a crazy level. He even got jealous of you, remember?"
"To be honest, I already know that Song Sihyuk-ssi is a crazy bastard even without your warning, Heedo-ya," Sohee said bluntly. "He was the one who turned Garam Hyung-nim into an Omega, right?"
"Oh, did Garam Hyung-nim tell you?"
"Kind of. He didn’t say it directly, but I could tell."
"I’ve heard about it from the rumors that emerged when they got married. But Sihyuk Hyung-nim is good at making people shut up, so the rumors died easily. Or, at least, people don’t talk about it openly now," Kim Heedo explained, and then he paused for a moment. "Hyung, are you trying to get close to Garam Hyung-nim because you wanted more information about those so-called miracle pills?"
"I won’t deny that, but I just genuinely like Garam Hyung-nim."
"As a person, right?"
Aigoo.
Are all Alphas really this jealous?
"Yes, as a person and as a hyung," Sohee said, assuring his jealous husband. "And I’ll make sure I’ll be careful around Song Sihyuk-ssi. That man gives me the creeps."
"Tell me if Sihyuk Hyung-nim threatens you, Hyung," Kim Heedo said in a serious tone. "I’ll fight him for you if I have to."
Aww.
It was sweet, but...
That won’t happen, right?

’LITTLE STAR.’
That was the name of the café that Sohee went to with Lim Garam.
As it name suggested, it was really a kid-friendly café.
Actually, it looks like a café for kids.
After all, there was a big wooden house (with a ball pit!) in the middle.
There was also a sandbox in the other corner.
And, currently, Gunwoo was playing alone in the ball pit.
Oh, the child’s nanny (a female Beta in her thirties wearing a black suit, as most bodyguards did) was within distance.
"Hyung-nim, did you rent the entire place?"
The café was empty, after all.
Sohee was having coffee and macarons with Lim Garam.
Their table was close to the playhouse.
If anything happened, they could quickly get to Gunwoo without a problem.
"I only booked the private lounge, but Sihyuk Hyung booked the entire place," Lim Garam said, sighing. "The people you see walking outside are his bodyguards wearing civilian clothes. If you look closely, you’ll realize that the same people are walking in intervals."
Aigoo.
"Hyung-nim, your husband is overprotective," Sohee said carefully. "I hope our conversation is not being wiretapped?"
"He already did that before, and I warned him I’d run away if he did something like that again. So, I doubt it."
Oh.
"You tried to run away from your husband before, Hyung-nim?"
"If I were you, you’d do the same."
Sohee nodded in a heartbeat. "Then why..."
"Why did I stay with him?" Lim Garam finished the question for Sohee, and then he paused for a moment. "It’s pretty complicated, but it won’t be that much of an exaggeration to say that I’d literally die if I left my husband."
"I-Is he going to kill you, Hyung-nim?"
Lim Garam chuckled and shook his head. "No, but I can see why you’d think that."
Sohee was relieved to hear that.
Murder isn’t the type of ’drama’ I crave.
"Hyung-nim, can I ask personal questions?"
"Of course, Sohee-ya— that’s exactly why we’re here."
"Then I won’t hold back," Sohee said, pausing for a moment before asking: "Did you hide your pregnancy from Song Sihyuk-ssi? Judging by Gunwoo’s age, I deduced that Hyung-nim got pregnant after your group went on a hiatus. But according to Kim Heedo, you only got married recently. Did you run away before that?"
"Yes, I did run away and hid my pregnancy from Sihyuk Hyung."
"But how were you able to do that when Song Sihyuk-ssi had all the resources to find you?"
"He didn’t find me because he didn’t look for me."
"What? I thought Song Sihyuk-ssi was obsessed with you, Hyung-nim."
"Oh, he was," Lim Garam said, smiling bitterly. "But there was a period when Sihyuk Hyung had a huge change as an Alpha. I believe it was because he used his pheromones for something strange back then."
"Something strange?"
"Sihyuk Hyung lent his pheromones to some shady people in exchange for the miracle pills that he used to turn me into an Omega," Lim Garam said as if that wasn’t a big deal. "After that, his pheromone level increased unusually, and he became physically stronger than he already was. But, as a side effect of that change, he lost a huge part of his memories— and that included his memories of me."
Sohee suddenly felt a chill down his spine.
Wait, isn’t it a bit similar to Kim Heedo’s current condition? But Kim Heedo didn’t lend his pheromones to anyone.
He wanted to ask Lim Garam more questions, but...
"This is strange..."
Sohee knitted his eyebrows when Lim Garam rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand. "What’s wrong, Hyung?"
"I suddenly feel sleepy..."
"Huh?"
THUD.
Lim Garam’s head suddenly fell on the table as if he lost consciousness.
Sohee only froze for a moment because he forced himself to react faster.
But when he was about to check on Lim Garam, he suddenly heard Gunwoo’s loud cry.
"Daddy!"
Sohee immediately turned in the child’s direction, and the scene that greeted him made him stand up abruptly while yelling.
"Hey, let go of the child!"
The nanny was holding the crying Gunwoo in her arms— and was already making her way towards the exit. Even a slow-witted person would realize instantly that the nanny was trying to kidnap the child.
After all, if that wasn’t the case, the nanny wouldn’t run away from him.
Tsk.
Sohee was about to run after the nanny to save Gunwoo, but a blunt object suddenly hit him on the back of his head— immediately causing him to black out.
Dammit...!

KIM HEEDO had just arrived in front of the house where Park Sohee’s mother and her new family currently lived.
He was about to press the doorbell when he got a call from Shin Kang.
Since he asked the ahjussi to keep an eye on Park Sohee, he picked up the call nervously— praying that Shin Kang was only calling for a quick update about his husband.
"Yes, Ahjussi?"
<"Heedo-ya!">
What?
It wasn’t Shin Kang’s voice.
Heedo knitted his eyebrows when he recognized the voice on the other end of the line. "Garam Hyung-nim?"
<"S-Sohee-ssi and my son were kidnapped!">
Fucking hell.
