Chapter 43: FOUR-LEAF CLOVER

"I’M SORRY, but only members are allowed in here."

Hmm.

When Sohee and Yang Jaewon tried to enter the building that Ho Changmin entered, they were immediately blocked by five intimidating, big men acting like bodyguards.

The men in question were wearing the same outfit: white mandarin collar shirts, a pair of black trousers, and a pair of black oxford shoes. They looked like ordinary office workers with that fit, but something about their hostile gazes made them look suspicious.

Three of them are Betas, and those two okay-looking dudes are Alphas.

Sohee ignored the men’s glare as he noticed the same patch on the men’s shirts.

It’s a star in the middle of what looks like a four-leaf clover?

The four-leaf clover was a symbol of luck.

And there was a star in the middle.

Then he remembered the name of that sketchy establishment.

House of the Heavenly Lucky Star, huh?

"Get out of here, kids."

Sohee was surprised when one of the Alphas suddenly grabbed him by the shoulder.

The other Alpha tried to do the same to Yang Jaewon, but Yang Jaewon easily twisted the other man’s arm.

"Aw! Aw! Aw!"

Aigoo.

Why is this man barking when he was the one who attacked first?

"Sohee Hyung, do you need help?"

Oh, right.

The Alpha who grabbed Sohee was squeezing his shoulder pretty tight at the moment.

"You’re an Omega?" the Alpha asked, smirking while licking his lips. "If you really want to enter our shrine, then I can help you with that."

It was obvious what this okay-looking Alpha was insinuating.

Alphas like this only see Omegas as a sex toy they could use anytime they want.

No wonder Yang Jaewon got riled up instantly.

"You bastard—"

SSSSHHHH.

That was the sound of Sohee using his pepper spray to attack the Alpha.

"ARGH!"

The Alpha immediately let go of Sohee’s shoulder to cover his eyes with his hands.

Heh.

The pepper spray definitely stings.

"This kid...!"

"How dare you?!"

"Guards, we have trespassers here!"

Oh, they have guards?

Sohee immediately hid behind Yang Jaewon. "Jaewon-ah, I’m sorry. I’m good at running, but I suck at fighting."

Well, he would fight if he was alone and his life was in danger.

Just like what happened when I was attacked at the clinic.

But if there were others who could fight, he’d live the fighting to them.

"Sohee Hyung, don’t worry about these small fries," Yang Jaewon assured him. "Did you forget that our friend, Kwon Gaon, is the heir of the most trusted security agency in the country?"

Oh, right.

"They got here first, but I told them to be on standby," Yang Jaewon said while typing furiously on his phone. "But they’ll be here in a second."

As if on cue, Kwon Gaon arrived with a group of strong-looking men dressed in black suits.

And, woah.

They even have bluetooth earpieces— just like the bodyguards I see in dramas!

Sohee grinned, getting thrilled as he felt like a main character in a drama again. "You rich kids are pretty cool when you use your power the right way."

"SHOULD I enter first, Sohee Hyung?"

"Nah, it’s fine," Sohee said, holding the knob of the door in front of them. The room was just on the second floor of the building. "But stay close to me. I don’t want to get beaten to a pulp in case there are gangsters— uh, I mean, suspicious religious people."

Yang Jaewon grinned. "Don’t worry, Hyung. Kwon Gaon may be a young master, but he was raised like a warrior by his father. We’ll be fine as long as we have him."

Kwon Gaon gave Yang Jaewon a look of disbelief. "I’ll protect Sohee Hyung, but you’re on your own, Yang Jaewon."

"Yah."

Sohee chuckled while listening to Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon exchange banters, and then he pushed the door open.

"You...!"

Ho Changmin immediately stood up when he saw Sohee and the others enter the room.

Sohee ignored the kid and looked around.

Since the building was supposed to be a place of worship, he kind of expected to see a room similar to a church there.

But what greeted him was a plain, boring office.

The man sitting behind the desk even looked like a crafty, sly supervisor who would take credit for his subordinates’ hard work.

Just like my previous boss.

Anyway, the sly-looking man looked like he was around Shaman Jung’s age?

So, he’s an ahjussi.

"It’s already too late, Sohee Hyung," Ho Changmin said. He looked confused and nervous, but there was a glint of relief in his eyes. "I don’t know how you got here, and I don’t care that you caught me. But it’s over now— your luck, that is."

Sohee tilted his head to one side. "My luck is over? How?"

"It’s an open secret in the shaman world that Shaman Jung-ssi was the one who played a matchmaker between Park Sohee and the grandson of the Ilsung Group."

"Is it?" Sohee asked, turning to Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon. "Do a lot of people know the true nature of my marriage with Kim Heedo?"

Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon both shook their heads.

"In the first place, only a few know that Heedo is the grandson of the Ilsung Group," Yang Jaewon said. "And I don’t think Shaman Jung-nim would spread a rumor claiming that he was the one who suggested the marriage between Sohee Hyung and Heedo."

"The information must have been leaked then," Kwon Gaon added, looking at the sly-looking man smiling at them like the con man that he probably was. "And someone has been selling that information to stupid kids like Ho Changmin here."

Aigoo.

Kwon Gaon rarely talks but when he does, his words sting.

"Let me clear some misunderstanding first," the sly-looking man said, still smiling. "I sell luck, not information." The man then lifted the diamond stud earring that Ho Changmin stole from Sohee. "And this one... Hmm?"

Sohee smirked when he noticed the confusion in the man’s face. "What’s wrong, sir?"

"This earring... is a dupe."

"It’s a lab diamond, but still a diamond nonetheless."

Yep, Sohee spent money on a dupe. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com

A lab diamond is less expensive than a diamond mined unethically, but it’s still not cheap.

"I guess Shaman Jung-ssi has already warned you in advance, huh?"

Sohee raised an eyebrow. "And what will you do if that’s the case, Ahjussi?"

The sly-looking man smiled, and then he walked towards the window. "I guess it’s too early to overpower Shaman Jung-ssi."

Hmm?

Does Shaman Jung have a rival?

"Ho Changmin-ssi, I’m sorry," the sly-looking man said while smiling apologetically at Ho Changmin. "You’re on your own, kid."

Sohee’s eyes widened when the sly-looking man started to climb the window.

That ahjussi is escaping!

Sohee immediately ran towards the window when the sly-looking man suddenly jumped off, but just when he was about to reach it...

"PARK SOHEE!"

What the hell?

Sohee immediately fell to his knees when thick and strong pheromones that came out of nowhere suddenly filled the room.

Just like that, he lost control of his body.

That amount of pheromones from an angry Alpha— a Dominant Alpha, at that— was more than enough to make even a Dominant Omega weak to the knees.

Wait, these pheromones...

Kim Heedo?

"Hyung, we’re on the second floor!"

Sohee raised his head while catching his breath. "Brat, control your pheromones."

"I’m trying, but I’m upset," Kim Heedo said, getting down on one knee. And then he gently grabbed Sohee’s shoulders while inspecting his ear. "Let’s go to the hospital, Hyung."

"Now you’re calling me ’hyung?’ I clearly heard you yell my full government name without honorifics."

"I had to knock some sense into your thick skull before you completely turned into an adrenaline junkie, Hyung."

"I’m not an adrenaline junkie."

"You are."

"I’m not."

"Yes, you are."

"No, I’m not."

"If you aren’t, then prove it— go to the hospital with me."

"Fine," Sohee said, opening his arms. "But only if you carry me. It’s your fault why I lost my strength anyway."

Kim Heedo smirked triumphantly, then he effortlessly picked up Sohee and carried him in his arms— bridal style.

Oh, he’s starting to calm down.

Kim Heedo’s pheromones started to smell like vanilla again, after all.

"Jaewon-ah, Gaon-ah, I’ll bring Sohee Hyung to the hospital first," Kim Heedo said in a hurry. "Hong Sera and Han Raehyun are here, too. Ask them for help if you have to."

Yang Jaewon and Kwon Gaon just nodded, the two already on the move to stop Ho Changmin from running away.

Oh, wait.

Sohee realized that he acted immature just now, letting himself fall for Kim Heedo’s trap. "Dude, that’s your stalker. Don’t you think we need to stay here and deal with this personally? Your friends aren’t your subordinates."

"Hyung, you’re hurt."

"It doesn’t hurt anymore."

Kim Heedo just kept his mouth shut.

In fact, the brat didn’t speak even until he put Sohee in the backseat of the car (after Shin Kang opened the door for them).

Is he mad?

"Mr. Shin, to the nearest hospital, please."

Shin Kang nodded politely. "Yes, sir."

Kim Heedo then made a phone call when the car drove off. "Eomma."

Hmm?

Sohee wondered why Kim Heedo suddenly called his mother.

"Eomma, Sohee Hyung got hurt and bled a lot."

Sohee turned to Kim Heedo with a surprised look on his face.

This snitch...!

Kim Heedo grinned, and then he mouthed: "Payback."

What a petty brat.
