Chapter 85: LOVE GURU

SOHEE GRILLED the meat while listening to the kids’ stories.

First was Hong Sera.

"So, after the result of YonheeToon Awards was released, I planned a nice date for Han Raehyun and me," Hong Sera said in a soft, sad voice. "Euntak and I decided that we’d celebrate as a group once you were done, uh, "babysitting" Kim Heedo, Oppa."

Ahem.

I guess spending Kim Heedo’s rut with him is similar to "babysitting"— except we’re doing the act of making babies.

Ahem, ahem.

"While Han Raehyun and I were having dinner at our favorite restaurant, he got a call from Jin Minki."

Sohee put meat on Hong Sera and Cho Euntak’s plates before asking: "Who’s that again?"

"Han Raehyun’s best friend. He’s also a member of the Webtoon Reading Club, and he’s from the Korean Literature Department," Hong Sera answered. "Oh, you might remember him as Lee Junsu’s friend, Oppa."

"Ah," Sohee said, nodding. "Now I remember him."

That kid tried to pick a fight with me at the Webtoon Reading Clubroom.

"So, why did Jin Minki interrupt your dinner with your boyfriend?"

"Jin Minki... was in heat."

Sohee dropped the tongs that he was using to grill the meat.

On the other hand, Cho Euntak almost choked on his soju.

"It’s not like that, Oppa, Euntak-ah," Hong Sera denied firmly while waving her hands. "My boyfriend just brings medicine and snacks to Jin Minki whenever he’s in heat since they are neighbors. But Jin Minki’s mother and sisters stay with him, while Han Raehyun stays in his apartment. Jin Minki just needs the assurance that Han Raehyun is near when he’s in heat."

That was one fucked up arrangement.

"Why does Jin Minki need Han Raehyun?" Sohee asked, knitting his eyebrows. "Are you sure those two aren’t cheating on you, Hong Sera?"

"They’re not cheating on me, Oppa," Hong Sera said while shaking her head strongly. "Han Raehyun and I spent the night talking to each other via video call. He didn’t leave his apartment."

"You should have just gone home with Han Raehyun then."

"It’s awkward since Jin Minki’s family doesn’t really like me."

"So what? They don’t own Han Raehyun’s apartment," Sohee said, and then he knitted his eyebrows. "Does Han Raehyun let his friend’s family treat you that way?"

"..."

Aigoo.

Sohee grabbed the back of his neck. "I thought Han Raehyun was a good kid. Who knew he didn’t have the balls to stand up for his girlfriend?"

"I can’t tell you the reason, but I did something bad to Jin Minki before," Hong Sera said, lowering her gaze. "It wasn’t on purpose, but I understand why Jin Minki and his family haven’t forgiven me yet for what happened back then."

Haaah.

"That sounds complicated," Sohee said, sighing. "I have a lot of things I want to say, but since I don’t know the whole story, I’ll just shut my mouth."

Judging by how Han Raehyun couldn’t stand up for Hong Sera, Sohee came to a conclusion: even Han Raehyun hadn’t forgiven Hong Sera yet for whatever Hong Sera had done to Jin Minki (accidentally!) in the past.

I know I’m being biased because Hong Sera is my friend, but I’m still disappointed in Han Raehyun.

Haaah.

"Noona, what makes you think Han Raehyun Sunbae-nim doesn’t love you anymore?" Cho Euntak asked carefully. "If you don’t mind my asking."

"I just said that because I’m lonely. Han Raehyun is busy taking care of Jin Minki," Hong Sera said, and then she paused as if she suddenly sobered up. In the end, she shook her head and changed the topic. "Euntak-ah, it’s your turn to share your story. I feel better now that I’ve taken my sentiments off my chest."

"After hearing Noona’s story, I feel like my problem is too trivial compared to that," Cho Euntak said in a sad voice. "After all, I don’t have the right to feel hurt after Baek Jeho got himself a girlfriend."

Both Sohee and Hong Sera gasped.

"Baek Jeho has a girlfriend now?" Hong Sera asked worriedly. "Oh, no. Euntak-ah, you’re in love with him, aren’t you?"

Cho Euntak nodded, and then he suddenly burst into tears.

"Poor kid," Hong Sera said, and then cried while opening her arms. "Let this noona give you a hug."

Then Hong Sera and Cho Euntak cried louder and harder while hugging each other.

Aigoo.

Sohee grilled more meat for the two kids.

They’ll definitely get hungry after crying their hearts out.

"THANK YOU, Oppa!"

Kim Heedo groaned in complaint when Kim Haewon suddenly hugged him tight.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that Kim Haewon’s hug almost snapped his body in half.

After all, this little girl is also an Alpha.

Heedo slowly regretted dropping by Kim Haewon’s bedroom before leaving.

I should have just left the gift to the staff.

"I’ve been eyeing this purse for quite some time," Kim Haewon said after letting go of Heedo, hugging the new bag that he bought for her. "But I already reached my quota for this month."

Since Kim Haewon and Kim Hanhae were still in high school (and the twins were also hiding their identities as chaebols), their parents made a rule that the twins were only allowed to buy three luxury items monthly.

And they’re not allowed to bring those items to school if the logo is obvious.

Of course, that rule didn’t apply to Heedo since he was already an adult.

Plus, I now have a husband I want to spoil.

"Is the other bag for Kim Hanhae?" Kim Haewon asked. "Are you going to give that to him personally? Or do you want my help, Oppa?"

Heedo was just about to answer when the door suddenly opened.

"Haewon-ah, let me copy your homework..."

Oh.

It was Kim Hanhae.

As expected, his younger brother tried to run away after seeing Heedo.

This brat...

"Kim Hanhae, come back here."

Heedo rarely used a strict and cold tone on his younger siblings, but he was pissed at Kim Hanhae’s rudeness.

Fortunately, his scolding tone worked.

Kim Hanhae returned and closed the door behind him.

"Are you still sulking?" Heedo asked, annoyed. "When will you realize that we only did what we know is best for you?"

"Who are you to decide what’s "best" for me, Hyung?" Kim Hanhae asked bitterly. "And it wasn’t Hyung anyway. It was Sohee Hyung-nim who snitched, right?"

"And your brother-in-law did the right thing," Heedo said firmly. "Sohee Hyung just didn’t want a man in his thirties to take advantage of you, Kim Hanhae. A grown-ass man like that shouldn’t be messing with a minor. Your brother-in-law just wants to protect you from that pervert, brat."

Kim Hanhae smirked bitterly. "I don’t think Sohee Hyung-nim has the right to talk about morals when he’s just an Omega who sold his body for money— argh!"

"Oppa!"

Heedo’s vision turned red.

Before he knew it, he had already pushed Kim Hanhae— his younger brother’s back hitting the door with a loud thud.

But he was still angry.

Alphas couldn’t usually smell their own pheromones.

But, at that moment, Heedo could tell how horrible and strong his scent was.

No wonder both Kim Haewon and Kim Hanhae immediately fell to their knees while acting like they were about to throw up.

He would usually baby the twins, but not right now.

I’m used to Kim Hanhae’s temper, so it’s fine if he was only rude to me.

But the kid crossed the line when he dragged Park Sohee into that conversation.

"Kim Hanhae, if you weren’t my younger brother, I would have killed you already," Heedo said coldly while grabbing Kim Hanhae’s shoulder— controlling his strength as much as he could. "But this is the only time I’m letting your rudeness towards Sohee Hyung slide. The day you disrespect my husband in any way again is the day I’ll disown you— then I’ll kill you. Do you understand?"

Kim Hanhae could only whimper without answering properly.

This kid is really testing my patience.

Heedo abruptly pulled Kim Hanhae up. "Answer me, Kim Hanhae!"

"Oppa, I think Hanhae’s shoulder is d-dislocated," Kim Haewon said worriedly. "I heard a popping sound earlier..."

What?

Heedo calmed down instantly when he noticed that Kim Hanhae was in serious pain. He immediately let go of his younger brother’s shoulder— shocked that he caused that injury.

I didn’t grab him that hard, though?

"Oppa, I think there’s something wrong with you," Kim Haewon said while helping Kim Hanhae stand properly by letting her twin brother lean on her. "Both your pheromones and physical strength are stronger than usual?"

Oh.

Heedo looked down at his hands.

Yeah, I think this strength isn’t normal either.

***

"OPPA, I’M sorry that I ruined the night. We were supposed to celebrate our win..."

"I’m sorry, too, Hyung. I didn’t have friends other than Baek Jeho in high school because of my gloomy personality..."

Aigoo.

Sohee smiled while shaking his head.

These kids are already drunk.

"Sera-ya, Euntak-ah, no need to apologize to me," Sohee said to console the kids. "How about we book a trip— just the three of us— to celebrate our win properly?"

Just like that, Hong Sera and Cho Euntak immediately beamed.

"I’d love that, Oppa."

"Me, too, Hyung. I’d like to go on a trip with you and Sera Noona!"

Sohee smiled and nodded.

He was about to ask the kids if they wanted to go on a beach trip, but he was distracted when a familiar person approached their table.

"Mr. Shin?"

It was Shin Kang— Kim Heedo’s personal secretary-slash-driver-slash-bodyguard.

"Park Sohee-nim," Shin Kang greeted Sohee with a polite bow. "Young Master Heedo-nim asked me to fetch you and drive you home."

Oho?

Shin Kang’s expression didn’t look good.

The fact that Kim Heedo sent Mr. Shin here without telling me in advance is suspicious.

"What happened, Mr. Shin?" Sohee asked in a calm yet firm manner. "Why couldn’t Kim Heedo pick me up?"

Shin Kang hesitated before he finally opened his mouth: "Young Master Heedo-nim and Young Master Hanhae-nim are both in the hospital, sir."
