Chapter 98: ROMANCE IS DEAD

TO BE HONEST, Sohee didn’t really find it that creepy that Kim Heedo followed him there.

But it wasn’t because he was down bad for his husband.

He knew that it was wrong, and it wasn’t a behavior that he should encourage.

However, a small part of him was happy.

I’ve been alone and lonely for most part of my life. So, to be this loved and wanted is something that I secretly crave. And now that it’s happening to me, I can’t help but be happy.

Sohee just refused to show it, though.

Like I said earlier, this is something that I shouldn’t encourage.

That was why he decided to punish Kim Heedo, even if the punishment would also affect him.

"Kim Heedo, we’re not having sex until I get my next heat cycle."

Sohee expected Kim Heed to react strongly to his ’sex ban.’

However, his husband reacted strongly to something else.

"Are you that angry at me, Sohee Hyung?" Kim Heedo asked nervously, panic obvious in his eyes. "I’m really sorry. I just can’t help it. I’ll accept the punishment you gave me, but please don’t be angry anymore."

Hmm?

This kid really likes having sex with me, but it looks like he cares more about my feelings than the sex ban.

Sohee was a bit touched.

"Hyung, I’m really sorry," Kim Heedo said, holding Sohee’s hands. "I’m already reflecting. I won’t do something you don’t want me to do again. So, please stop being mad. Hmm?"

Aigoo.

Sohee’s anger immediately melted after seeing how sorry Kim Heedo looked.

He really regrets it.

"As long as you understand," Sohee said, giving in. It was hard to stay mad at Kim Heedo when he was being this cute and remorseful. "I’ll let it slide this time. But the next time you do something that I hate, your punishment won’t just end with a sex ban."

Kim Heedo let out a sigh of relief. "Yes, Hyung. I understand," he said, his face beaming. "Thank you for the chance to make it up to you, Hyung."

Haaah.

I’m really down bad for this kid.

Sohee could only wish that Hong Sera and Cho Euntak weren’t as pushover as him.

"YOU’RE IN love with me?"

Cho Euntak clenched his hands tight.

To be honest, he was afraid Baek Jeho would look at him with disgust. Thankfully, that didn’t happen.

However, the shocked look on Baek Jeho’s face annoyed him.

"Do you really have no idea that I’m in love with you, Baek Jeho?" Cho Euntak asked bitterly. "To be honest, I honestly thought you also feel the same way for me."

Baek Jeho looked surprised. "What? But what made you think that I like you romantically?"

"You really have the audacity to ask me that?"

"Cho Euntak."

"Do you cover your friends in pheromones?"

"I only do it to you, Euntak-ah."

"Exactly. Why do you do that?"

"I only do that because I want to protect you," Baek Jeho said firmly. "You’re a Recessive Alpha, Euntak-ah. You manifested late, and you also barely smell the pheromones around you. I don’t want other Alphas or even Omegas to take advantage of your naïvety."

"I’m not a child, Baek Jeho," Cho Euntak said sternly. "You didn’t have to do that to protect me."

"I didn’t know you’d misunderstand me."

Right.

Cho Euntak was in the wrong.

He was the one who misunderstood Baek Jeho’s protectiveness as a friend for love. In the first place, he shouldn’t have been led on. After all, he had always known that Baek Jeho was attracted to women and not men.

Dammit.

"Yes, none of this was your fault. It was me who misunderstood," Cho Euntak said in a cracked voice. He didn’t want to cry, but he couldn’t stop his tears from falling. "But now that you know that I’m in love with you, can you please stop clinging to me?"

"Cha Euntak..."

"I can’t be your best friend anymore."

"Let’s talk again once you’ve calmed down," Baek Jeho said softly, offering a handkerchief to Cho Euntak. "You’re just confused, Euntak-ah."

Haaah.

Even until the end, Baek Jeho refuses to acknowledge my feelings.

That hurt even more.

"I’m not confused, Baek Jeho," Cho Euntak said, smiling bitterly— refusing to accept the handkerchief that Baek Jeho offered. "I’m in love with you, so this friendship is over."

"SERA-YA, you know that I don’t have feelings for Jin Minki."

"Of course, I know that. I wouldn’t have stayed with you if you were in love with Jin Minki," Hong Sera said, getting a bit frustrated. In fact, her stomach was feeling funny. She wasn’t good at confrontations, after all. Especially if the confrontation involved Han Raehyun. "But how about Jin Minki? Are we sure he’s not in love with you?"

Han Raehyun frowned as if he didn’t even like the idea of Jin Minki having romantic feelings for him. "Sera-ya, Jin Minki isn’t in love with me."

"But he acts like he’s going to die without you."

"You know very well why he’s acting that way."

Ouch.

That one hurt a bit.

Han Raehyun’s eyes widened a bit when he realized his mistake. "I don’t mean it that way, Sera-ya."

"No, you know what you’re saying, Raehyun-ah."

"Hong Sera."

"You may not want to acknowledge it, but I know you still blame me for what happened to Jin Minki," Hong Sera said bitterly, smiling sadly as the memories of the past resurfaced once again. "If I didn’t throw a tantrum and force you to fetch me at the academy, you wouldn’t have let Jin Minki come home alone. And if you didn’t leave his side at that time, then he wouldn’t have been assaulted."

Han Raehyun shut his eyes tight. "Sera-ya, let’s not talk about this."

"You didn’t deny it."

"What do you want me to say?"

"Tell me that it was my fault Jin Minki was assaulted."

Han Raehyun opened his eyes and shot Hong Sera a cold look. "Even if I blame you, it wouldn’t change what happened in the past."

Hong Sera smiled sadly, her heart breaking into pieces. "So I was right. Deep down in your heart, you blame me for what happened to Jin Minki." She took a deep breath, clutching her stomach. The "funny" feeling in her stomach was starting to get painful. "Han Raehyun, you hate me, don’t you?"

She braced herself for Han Raehyun’s confession while enduring the pain.

But that didn’t happen.

In fact, the coldness in his face suddenly disappeared.

"Sera-ya, are you in pain? You suddenly went pale," Han Raehyun said worriedly while approaching her. "Is it your stomach? Or are you having period cramps?"

Ah.

Hong Sera wanted to assure Han Raehyun that she was fine, but everything suddenly went black.

"Sera-ya!"

***

"HONG SERA!"

Sohee flinched when they heard Han Raehyun yelling Sera’s name again and again.

And Han Raehyun voice sounded like he was in a panic.

No wonder Kim Heedo immediately ran towards where the voice was coming from.

Of course, Sohee ran after his husband.

When he got to Hong Sera’s bedroom, he was shocked when he saw Hong Sera unconscious in Han Raehyun’s arms.

Oh, god.

Hong Sera looked pale, and she was sweating bullets!

Fortunately, Kim Heedo was already on the phone— talking to 119.

"Ah, I’d like to inform you in advance that the patient had a liver transplant a few years ago."

What?

Sohee was shocked to hear that Hong Sera had a liver transplant.

Is that why Hong Sera drinks in moderation?

"Liver transplant?" Han Raehyun asked Kim Heedo after Kim Heedo’s phone call. "When did Hong Sera get a liver transplant?"

Kim Heedo shot Han Raehyun a cold look. "Back when you were busy taking care of Jin Minki."

Sohee covered his mouth with his hands when he gasped.

That’s something straight out of a soap opera...
