My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 13
Chapter 13: Chapter 13
At that moment Valentina took a deep breath, trying to push away the frustration she felt about her clothes. She had never cared much for fashion, but now, standing in front of her wardrobe filled with the long, concealing garments she once needed, she knew she couldn’t wear them anymore.
She needed new clothes—ones that reflected the woman she was now, not the one she used to be.
Her first thought was to use the money she had been secretly saving, the same money she had once intended to give Raymond and he rejected.
But she had already budgeted that money for something else, something important.
That left her with only one option.
With another deep breath, she stepped out of her room and made her way toward Raymond’s office.
As she reached his door, she hesitated for a second before raising her hand and knocking lightly. Before she could knock a second time, the door swung open, and Raymond stood there, looking at her with a calm, knowing expression.
Valentina blinked in surprise.
"You didn’t even ask who it was," she said, tilting her head in curiosity.
Raymond simply smiled, his crimson eyes gleaming.
"I knew it was you," he said smoothly, as if that explained everything.
Valentina felt her lips twitch into a small smile, warmth blooming in her chest.
But then she hesitated, suddenly unsure of how to ask him for money.
She lowered her gaze slightly, shifting her weight from one foot to the other.
"Raymond... I wanted to ask you for something," she said, her voice soft. "But it’s alright if you say no. I won’t be mad. You’ve already done more than enough for me."
Raymond didn’t hesitate. His smile widened as he leaned slightly against the doorframe, his gaze unwavering.
"I will never say no to you, Valentina," he said, his voice deep and steady.
"Whatever it is, just say it—I’ll do it."
At that moment Valentina took a deep breath, gathering the courage to say what was on her mind. She glanced at Raymond, who was still watching her with that unwavering gaze, waiting for her to speak.
"I... I want to get some new clothes for myself," she said, her voice steady but hesitant. "The ones I have now... they aren’t good anymore. I won’t buy anything expensive, I just need something for now." She paused, shifting slightly. "Once I start working again and rebuild my business, I’ll buy more for myself."
The moment she finished speaking, Raymond suddenly burst into laughter.
Valentina frowned in confusion, tilting her head as she looked at him. His deep, rich laughter filled the office, catching her completely off guard.
"What’s so funny?" she asked, crossing her arms.
"Did I say something strange?"
Immediately Raymond shook his head, still chuckling as he looked at her with amusement.
"No," he said, his eyes gleaming with warmth.
"It’s just that you’re really funny, Valentina."
Valentina’s frown deepened. "How?"
Raymond stood up and stepped closer, his lips still curled into a smile.
"Why are you acting like I’m a stranger?" he asked, his tone playful yet serious.
"For crying out loud, I’m your husband now."
Valentina’s lips twitched, a small smile forming despite herself. The way he said it so naturally, so confidently, made her heart flutter.
But she still shook her head.
"That doesn’t mean I have the right to demand things from you," she said softly.
"You’ve done so much for me already, and I’m grateful for that."
Raymond’s smile softened as he reached for her, wrapping his arms around her in a firm, warm embrace.
"I’m sorry," he murmured against her hair.
"I’m sorry for coming into your life so late... for allowing you to suffer the way you did."
Valentina’s breath hitched as she felt the sincerity in his voice.
Raymond pulled back slightly, looking into her eyes.
"If I could give you the world, Valentina, I would," he whispered. "And I will."
At that moment Valentina wrapped her arms around Raymond, resting her head lightly against his chest. "You’ve done more than enough for me," she murmured, her voice filled with warmth.
"I truly appreciate everything, Raymond."
They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s warmth, before Raymond finally pulled back slightly, his hands still resting on her waist. "Come on," he said with a smile.
"Let’s go get you some dresses."
A short while later, they stepped out of the house, the sun casting a gentle glow over the driveway. Raymond turned to Valentina, expecting to see her radiant face, only to realize she had once again wrapped a scarf around it, concealing her features.
His brows furrowed slightly. "Valentina," he called, his tone gentle but questioning. "Why are you still covering your face?"
Valentina let out a soft sigh, adjusting the scarf slightly.
"I just... I really want to spend time with you today," she admitted. "I don’t want any unnecessary attention while we shop."
Raymond raised an eyebrow. "Unnecessary attention?"
She nodded, her glowing blue eyes peeking through the scarf.
"I’ve been here before, Raymond. I know what happens when people recognize someone with a certain kind of beauty."
She hesitated.
"And now that I have my face back... I don’t even want to imagine the kind of attention I’d get."
Raymond understood immediately. He had always known Valentina was breathtaking, but now, after her transformation, she had an almost ethereal beauty—one that would undoubtedly draw countless eyes.
"I understand," he said sincerely. "But I just want you to feel free this time. You don’t have to hide anymore, Valentina. You don’t have to be afraid. I’ll protect you."
Valentina smiled behind her scarf, her eyes softening.
"When I’m ready, I’ll stop using it," she reassured him.
Then Raymond studied her for a moment, then nodded. He wasn’t going to push her—he would wait until she felt safe enough to reveal herself to the world.
With that, they got into the car. It wasn’t just any car—it was a limited edition model, sleek and polished, radiating understated luxury.
Valentina glanced around, admiring the craftsmanship of the vehicle. It wasn’t a flashy, modern sports car, but rather a rare, timeless beauty—much like Raymond himself.
As they drove through the city, Valentina looked out the window, enjoying the passing scenery.
But when they arrived at their destination, her eyes widened in shock.
Everything in front of her screamed luxury.
The towering building was one of the most high-end designer boutiques in the city, with rows of expensive brands on display, and doormen dressed in immaculate suits welcoming elite clients.
She turned to Raymond, disbelief etched onto her face.
"Raymond," she said slowly, "I didn’t ask you to bring me here, this is Everything luxury."
