My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Chapter 29
Valentina had already prepared the list of the five Luxurious Items she needed.
One was the ethereal Starlight Candle which will cost 10 thousand dollars,
Then the Celestial Memory Lantern which cost 30 thousand dollars.
Then Imperial Floral Wreath 40 thousand dollars
With two other more items that will raise the total sum to 170 thousand dollars.
And she has been able to save 200 thousand dollars.
It was the money she wanted to pay Raymond off with but he rejected.
This time she took it upon herself not to ask Raymond for money, it’s her mother and it’s going to do it herself.
At that moment Valentina walked through the grand hall of the Luxurious memorial service shop, her steps steady but her heart heavy. She had already made her selections, choosing only the most significant items for the remembrance of her mother.
She approached the counter, where a well-dressed attendant greeted her with a warm but professional smile.
"You’re quite fortunate, ma’am," the attendant informed her.
"Each of these luxurious remembrance items is in high demand, and we only have one of each left in stock. You arrived just in time."
At that moment Valentina exhaled slowly.
"I see."
She reached into her coat, ready to finalize the purchase. Today wasn’t about spending extravagantly—it was about honoring the only person who had truly loved her.
She glanced at the glowing Celestial Memory Lantern, feeling a strange sense of warmth settle in her chest.
"This is for you mom"
Valentina stood by the counter, watching as the attendants carefully arranged the five luxurious remembrance items she had selected. Each piece carried a weight of significance, a silent tribute to the mother she had lost.
Just as the transaction was about to be completed, another attendant entered the room briskly, a look of urgency on her face. She whispered something to the senior clerk, who immediately stiffened.
Then she face Valatina.
"I’m terribly sorry, ma’am," the clerk said, glancing at Valentina with an apologetic yet firm expression.
"But we cannot sell these items to you anymore."
Upon hearing what she just said.
Valentina’s eyes narrowed slightly. "What do you mean?"
The attendant hesitated before responding.
"One of our high-ranking clients, a very esteemed individual, has specifically requested these same luxurious items for their annual remembrance ceremony. They are a priority customer who purchases from us every year. We are obligated to serve them first."
At that moment Valentina’s fingers curled into a fist at her side.
"So, because of that, you’re taking back what I’ve already chosen?"
"I’m afraid so,"
the clerk said stiffly.
"The client has already made arrangements, and we cannot afford to disappoint them."
Valentina’s fingers curled into fists as she tried to suppress the anger bubbling inside her. She had never been the type to cause a scene in public, but this was unacceptable.
She took a deep breath before speaking, her voice sharp but controlled.
"Let me get this straight. I came here first, I selected the items first, I was told they were available, but now—suddenly—someone else, someone with money," she emphasized with a hint of sarcasm, "wants them, and you’re asking me to step aside? Is that correct?"
The attendant sighed, clearly unimpressed by Valentina’s frustration.
"Miss, we do apologize, but this is standard policy. Our VIP clients have priority. They have been shopping with us for years, and their loyalty is valuable to us."
Then Valentina let out a dry laugh. "Valuable to you? So, because I’m not a regular customer, my money means nothing? My presence here is a waste of your time?"
The attendant hesitated for a moment, then forced a polite smile. "That’s not what I’m saying, Miss—"
"Then what are you saying?" Valentina interrupted, stepping closer.
"Because from where I’m standing, it sounds exactly like that. Let me ask you something—when I walked in and selected these items, did you tell me there was a chance someone else could come in and claim them instead?"
The attendant shifted uncomfortably.
"No, but—"
"But now, after I’ve spent my time here making careful selections, I’m supposed to just step aside and let some entitled VIP client walk in and take them away?"
Valentina’s voice was steady, but the icy anger beneath it was unmistakable.
"Miss, please understand—"
"Oh, I understand perfectly," Valentina cut in.
"You want me to settle. You want me to accept a lesser option, while your very important client gets everything they demand."
Then she tilted her head slightly.
"Well, how about no? You go tell your VIP client that they can pick something else."
At that moment Valentina’s jaw tightened, her patience wearing dangerously thin. She leveled a steady gaze at the attendant, her voice unwavering.
"There are more expensive items than these, right?" She gestured around the store.
"Since your VIP client is so incredibly wealthy, she should go pick something else. This belongs to me. I came here first, I selected it first. You can’t intimidate me into stepping aside."
The attendant forced a polite smile, but her irritation was evident. "Miss, nobody is trying to intimidate you. We’re simply following store policy. These items have always been reserved for our most valued clients."
Valentina scoffed.
"Oh? Is that written anywhere? Because when I walked in, I didn’t see a sign that said Only for Elites." She crossed her arms.
"You’re telling me I wasted my time choosing items that were never going to be sold to me in the first place?"
At that moment the attendant sighed, clearly running out of patience.
"Miss, we are not going to sell these items to you."
Then Valentina’s lips parted, ready to lash out, when an all-too-familiar voice sliced through the air.
"What is keeping you all waiting?" The tone was sharp, impatient, laced with entitlement.
"Does the staff here think I have all day? Today is our grandfather’s remembrance day. I don’t have time for delays."
The store attendant immediately straightened, bowing slightly.
"We sincerely apologize, Miss Victoria. There was just a small little misunderstanding we are taking care of."
