My Husband Is a Million Years Old Vampire-Chapter 30
Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Hearing what Victoria just said.
The staff hesitated for a moment before turning to Victoria, her voice carefully measured.
"Miss, it’s this lady here—" she pointed at Valentina, "—who is refusing to give up the items."
Victoria, who had been impatiently checking her nails, finally turned in the direction the staff indicated. The moment her gaze landed on Valentina, her expression froze for half a second before she burst into laughter.
It wasn’t a laugh of amusement. It was mockery.
Immediately she clapped her hands together as if she had just heard the most ridiculous joke.
"Wait... wait a minute." She took a slow step forward, her sharp eyes scanning Valentina from head to toe.
"You mean to tell me... out of all people in this world, the one who dares to challenge me for these items is Valentina?"
At that moment She let out another sharp laugh, shaking her head in disbelief.
Then she turned to the staff, still grinning.
"Are you serious right now? She is the one refusing to back down?" Immediately Victoria leaned slightly closer to Valentina, her smirk widening. "You must be really feeling yourself these days, huh?"
However Valentina didn’t respond, her expression was unreadable.
Victoria clicked her tongue and flicked her perfectly styled hair over her shoulder.
"Listen, I don’t have time for nonsense today. I have more important things to do than stand here and argue with you."
At that moment she took a step forward, her voice dropping into something colder, sharper.
"So be a good girl and back off before I make you."
Seeing Valentina not wanting to back down.
The staff’s fingers twitched slightly, her eyes darting between Victoria and Valentina. A part of her already knew where this was going. If she gave the items to Victoria, she would get a very generous tip—Victoria always made sure to reward her for her loyalty.
But if she went against Victoria now...
She didn’t even want to think about it.
Determined not to let this opportunity slip away, the staff straightened her back and subtly shifted her stance, as if bracing for a confrontation.
However she knows who is going to come out onto.
Meanwhile, Victoria had already begun her attack.
She scoffed, her arms crossing over her chest as she looked Valentina up and down with blatant contempt.
"You know... when I heard someone was refusing to hand over my things, I thought it was going to be someone important. Someone worthy of standing against me."
She let out a sharp laugh, shaking her head.
"But you? Valentina?"
She took a deliberate step forward, her eyes narrowing.
"Tell me, have you forgotten who you are? Have you suddenly forgotten the family you came from?" She sneered, her tone dripping with mockery.
"Because if you did, let me remind you—our families are not the same. They have never been the same. And they never will be, and let me remind you, they sold you out already, you’re no longer part of your family."
Her words carried weight, each syllable laced with the sharpness of a blade meant to cut deep.
"You—standing here, acting all high and mighty over something so small—it’s actually laughable." She tilted her head slightly, eyes gleaming with amusement.
"What? You think just because your scars are gone, you can suddenly stand on the same level as me?"
At that moment Victoria smirked, then took another step closer, her voice lowering to a whisper only Valentina could hear.
"Wake up, dear. You and I will never be equals."
However Victoria’s smirk faltered for a brief second before twisting into something sharper, something laced with bitter resentment.
Then She let out a harsh laugh, stepping even closer to Valentina as if daring her to step back.
"Oh, so you suddenly think you’re above me now?"
Victoria sneered, her tone venomous.
"That’s rich coming from someone who was thrown away by her own family. You don’t belong anywhere, Valentina. Not with them, not with us, and definitely not standing here, trying to act as if you’re somebody."
Then She crossed her arms, tilting her head slightly.
"You’ve always been the city little darling, haven’t you? Always the center of attention. Everyone adored you, praised you, talked about you like you were some goddess." Her lip curled in disgust. "But we both know the truth, don’t we?"
She leaned in, voice dropping to a cold whisper.
"Without your face, you were nothing. Irrelevant. Forgotten. Just another burned-out star in the sky. And now that you’ve gotten it back, you think you can just walk back in and take everything again?"
Immediately Victoria let out another laugh, but this one was colder, more bitter.
"Let me tell you something, Valentina. I let you have your moment once in Everything luxury, but I won’t make that mistake again. I’m not running away this time. Not from me."
Valentina, however, remained unshaken. She looked Victoria dead in the eye, her expression unreadable, almost bored.
Then, in a voice that carried no effort, no struggle, she simply said,
"You and I are not the same."
Immediately Victoria’s eyes twitched.
Valentina took a step back, brushing nonexistent dust off her sleeve.
"I don’t waste my time exchanging words with people beneath me. It would be embarrassing to even be seen arguing with you."
Hearing what Valentina just said.
Victoria’s expression darkened, her nails digging into her palms. A quiet rage simmered beneath her skin, her pride burning, twisting, boiling.
Valentina smirked slightly. "And yet, look at you, so desperate to prove yourself to me. How tragic."
At that moment Victoria’s jaw tightened, her anger threatening to explode.
Then immediately she smirked, folding her arms as she watched Valentina with smug satisfaction. "Oh, you shouldn’t have said that, Valentina. Now I’m going to make sure you don’t get these items." She turned to the staff with a flick of her wrist.
"Wrap them up. All of them. They belong to me now."
At that moment Valentina’s eyes narrowed, her patience already worn thin, but before she could respond, the staff quickly interjected, her voice laced with false politeness.
"Miss, I’m sorry, but we’ll be selling these to Miss Victoria instead. Perhaps you’d like to take a look at some of our more affordable options?"
