Blake turned his head the moment he heard Midwak say those words, telling them to pull back.

Although they had been hit away from the ruins of the cabin, Ylva had yet to move and was still standing there.

To Blake, it was almost as if she was standing on top of his father's body. He wanted to do whatever he could to push her off.

The one person to suggest such a move as well was the one that Blake felt like had the most reason to pull back from the mission.

"Midwak, don't say something so stupid!" Blake shouted. "We came here for one reason and that was to get my father. Gary and everyone is fighting so hard—even now he's fighting hard!"

"You don't understand!" Midwak shouted back. "The reason why I'm saying we need to fall back is because of Gary. He can't—he can't last much longer like this!"

Midwak was more than correct. Gary's special form actually even did harm to his body, slowly dwindling his HP.

Before, one of the Bree family had forced a transformation. So Gary's body was more hurt and couldn't last as long as before.

His HP dropped at a much slower rate, but it was one of the things they needed to consider as well, that not even Midwak was aware of.

"Hey, if what Midwak is saying is true, this could be bad for all of us," Innu answered. "And truthfully, I'm not even sure we can beat her."

"You're listening to him!" Blake snapped back. "Did you not hear what he asked Gary to do for him not too long ago? How can any of us trust him?"

Blake continued to grip the sword as he strengthened his resolve.

"Fine, all of you can leave, but I'm not leaving without my father," Blake said, as he started walking ahead.

He was thinking, hoping for a chance to beat Ylva. Maybe the white lines he saw would evolve and come up with some way for him to win this fight.

Soon Blake noticed another pair of footsteps by his side.

"So you decided to help me out after all, Innu? I knew I could count on you, I think if we—"

Blake was cut off mid-sentence as he felt a loud pain at the back of his neck. His vision turning blurry and eventually passing out completely.

"I'm sorry, Blake," Innu said. He had used the back of his axe and had even added some Qi. With the way Blake was, he was afraid any less and it might not knock him out.

Blake would have a sore neck in the morning, that was for sure.

Eventually, Innu caught Blake and saw the large werewolf Midwak appear by his side.

"You can carry him?" Innu asked.

"Yeah, it's not a problem," Midwak answered. "And thanks for trusting me, I really meant what I said."

"Don't worry, Blake's not thinking straight and I don't blame him. But I'm sure of one thing—his father would have wanted us to do this. No way would his father want any of us losing our lives after what he did for us… we owe him a lot."

Innu and Midwak looked at each other for a moment before they both turned away and ran straight to where Gary was.

Gary was still facing the large onslaught of werewolves. He was conflicted himself about what the best thing to do was, to the point where he had ended his Shadow Ash Lycan form.

It just took up far too much energy for him to use in this situation, but he was still in his full transformation.

"They just keep coming and coming!" Gary shouted as he whipped one right in the face and then kicked another right by its chin.

A powerful blow with his strength that should have knocked them out, but was useless here. freewebnøvel.com

"The power of the Luna is more fierce than I thought. All of these are about twice as strong as they usually would be, and the resilience—it's madness!" Gary claimed.

He didn't know what to do. Would the others be strong enough to take down Ylva? Should he turn around and try to fight the werewolves and her at the same time?

Or should he tell them, with the sun rising, maybe the best thing to do was to get out of there?

If Gary really wanted to beat them all, he had other options to use. The issue was, he needed to get to where Lupus was.

Gary was sure if he and Lupus were near each other in the same vicinity, that Lupus would do anything in his power to take him down.

Gary still wasn't sure himself what his plan was—whether to fight by the side of the vampires…

To leave things be and take this chance, or to just head back to Slough. What he did know though, was he didn't want to lose anyone.

'But I can't let Blake down either. He's helped us so much when we were in trouble, and to just let things go?'

"Gary!" Innu shouted. "Change of plan—let's get out of here!"

Oddly, Innu had jumped toward Gary. At first, Gary was confused by the action. Why was Innu jumping toward him? Then he saw Midwak.

Gary had turned around, allowing Innu to cling onto his shoulders. Right after, using the powerful strength of his legs, he jumped up to a nearby tree.

Midwak had a lot of momentum from running, and was able to match up. The two of them continued to jump up until Gary had jumped toward the glass ceiling and swiped his hand, letting a claw swipe go through the air.

It smashed, and Gary had managed to grab into the edge of the broken glass and pull himself up onto the outside, while Midwak did the same.

"After them!" Ylva screamed.
