Chapter 60: 59. A woman who doesn’t know fun

In the room, a lively and spirited instrumental music floated through the air.

This piece, "Wedding in a Dream," had a medium difficulty level. Because of its brisk rhythm and clear variations in pitch, it was by no means a simple piece to play.

Huo Feng was looking at the score for the first time, playing it for the first time, yet the effect he produced vastly exceeded her expectations.

Pu Sangzhi leaned back in her chair, gazing at him with a dreamy look in her eyes. She saw him tapping the ground with one foot, the edge of the stool with the other, leisurely and comfortably strumming the guitar, completely absorbed in the music with a focused expression that was incredibly captivating.

As she watched, the corners of Pu Sangzhi’s lips curled up slightly and, without realising it, a warm smile slowly spread across her face.

Suddenly she felt an itch in her hands, an impulse... to play the piano.

She had started learning piano at the age of six, and by seventh grade, she had passed level 7. But then... everything changed, life events struck her family... and the piano too was gone.

Pu Sangzhi hadn’t touched a musical instrument in a long time, rarely listened to music, and seldom felt music so intimately, to be submerged in it like this.

At the moment, listening intently to Huo Feng’s performance, she was exceedingly focused.

Partly out of nostalgia, partly out of admiration... there was no denying that at this moment, Huo Feng was making her see him in a new light.

At the end of the piece, Pu Sangzhi clapped of her own accord, her lips pursed in a light chuckle.

When Huo Feng looked up, he saw her sporting the classic ’fangirl’ look and felt a surge of pride!

See...

You’re falling for Huo Feng, aren’t you?

He had to let her know that Huo Feng was gold from head to toe! He would make her admire him!

This woman, Pu Sangzhi, had such a superficial understanding of Huo Feng! A pure frog in a well! Ignorant and clueless!

Fortunately, he, Huo Feng, wasn’t letting her give up; otherwise, she’d regret missing out on someone like him!

Huo Feng smirked and said proudly, "How about that? Handsome, right?"

Pu Sangzhi chuckled, "There were three mistakes, five places where the transitions didn’t connect, and occasionally, your thumb brushed against other strings, creating a miscellany of sounds. But these are minor errors, they don’t detract from the enjoyment, it was quite good."

Huo Feng narrowed his eyes, speechless.

"You unromantic woman, can’t you just compliment me..."

Pu Sangzhi raised an eyebrow, "Didn’t I just praise you?"

Huo Feng was utterly dissatisfied with that bit of praise. He bluntly said, "If another girl were fortunate enough to see me play the guitar, she would be screaming by now."

Pu Sangzhi: "You’re not good enough to make me scream."

"No way!"

Huo Feng shook his hand out and loosened his fingers, "I have to show you my real skills! I, Huo Feng, am amazing!"

Pu Sangzhi pursed her lips, "Oh."

"I’ll give you a singing performance, Jay Chou’s ’Love Confession.’

Huo Feng repositioned his hands on the six strings of the guitar, cleared his throat, and declared, "Next up, ’Love Confession’ by Jay Chou for the girl I like. I hope Sangzhi will take this song as my confession, listen carefully, savor it, and my heart will be..."

Pu Sangzhi interjected, "Too much nonsense."

Huo Feng reluctantly let out an "Oh," kept the heartfelt speech he had ready in his stomach, and then began to play.

Modern songs are more suitable for guitar performance, so when Huo Feng sang this song, his style was completely different from the previous one.

Pu Sangzhi listened intently as before.

After the brief intro had been played, Huo Feng began to sing, "The coffee on the left bank of the Seine River, I hold a cup, savoring your beauty, the lips that left a mark..."

As soon as Huo Feng sang, the room suddenly seemed to host a mini concert.

Pu Sangzhi sat up straight, her eyes fixed on him in astonishment.

She had not expected that Huo Feng’s normally nonchalant voice would transform so completely when he sang.

His voice had a slight huskiness, his low notes were spot on, alluring and magnetic.

"My dear, falling in love with you since that day, it’s been oh so sweet~"

When it came to the chorus, Pu Sangzhi’s gaze inadvertently drifted away, looking elsewhere...

With such saccharine lyrics, coupled with Huo Feng’s piercing gaze, she found her heartbeat quickening for a moment.

She dared not meet Huo Feng’s gaze... he was tempting her with his eyes!
