Pregnant During An Apocalypse [BL]-Chapter 112 - Realisation
Chapter 112: Chapter 112 - Realisation
The sterile scent of antiseptics clung to the back of Muchen’s throat.
The faint beeping of monitors and the shuffle of footsteps echoed through the room.
"I’m... pregnant?" The words fell from his lips. He blinked, his gaze drifting from the doctor’s calm expression to the glaring fluorescent lights above.
The corners of Muchen’s lips lifted in disbelief. "Is this live? Did you put Shao up to this?" He glanced at his friend, who stood stiffly at the foot of the bed, his face unreadable. "This isn’t funny."
The doctor’s brows furrowed, his voice steady. "Sir, this is not a prank."
Groaning softly, Muchen sat up, wincing at the tug of countless wires attached to his arms. His fingers fumbled with one of the tubes. "This must be fake too... Haha, very funny."
Without thinking, he yanked the IV out.
A stinging pain shot through his hand as a bead of blood welled up at the site. The coppery scent hit his nose, sharp and real.
"Oh my god! You can’t just yank it out like that," the aging doctor exclaimed, rushing to his side. His hands were surprisingly firm as he reinserted the needle, securing it with a fresh bandage.
Muchen stared at the crimson smear on his skin, a strange numbness spreading through his chest. "This... this feels too real," he murmured, his voice wavering. "You guys have outdone yourselves."
The doctor met his gaze, his expression serious. "Sir, I know this is hard to believe, but you’re pregnant."
Silence engulfed the room.
The faint hum of the ultrasound machine filled the void as one of the junior doctors wheeled it closer.
The lead physician gestured to the screen. "Look at this small, bean-like structure. That’s your baby. Judging by the size, you’re about five to six weeks along."
Muchen’s heart raced, the sound echoing in his ears like a drumbeat.
His gaze fixated on the blurry image on the monitor. The room seemed to tilt, the edges of his vision blurring.
"I’m a man," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"We understand this is unprecedented," the doctor said, his tone gentle yet firm. "But the sac-like structure attached to your intestine is somehow protecting the fetus. We reviewed your previous medical reports. Initially, it was mistaken for a fibroid growth, but now we can see it’s actually a womb. This is extraordinary. I’ve never seen anything like this in my twenty-year career."
The doctor’s enthusiasm grated against Muchen’s spiraling thoughts. His chest tightened, and a wave of nausea rolled through him. The antiseptic smell suddenly felt suffocating.
"I’m... I cant be. Its not possible." His trembling hand moved to his stomach, where a faint warmth seemed to pulse beneath his skin.
A gasp broke the silence.
Hana, who had been quietly observing from the corner, clapped a hand over her mouth. "Oh my god!" she whispered. Her eyes widened as realization dawned. "Muchen, you... you were the bottom? Oh my god!"
Heat flooded Muchen’s face. "N-no! That’s not— It was not what happened! I—we didn’t do anything!"
The doctor interrupted matter-of-factly. "What are you talking about? Pregnancy doesn’t just happen out of nowhere. Obviously, it was through intercourse."
Blushing furiously, Muchen glared at the doctor. "She didn’t need to know that!"
"I needed to know that!" Hana grimaced, waving her hands as though to dispel the mental image. "Wait... you did it with my brother? Ew! Stop imagining it, you stupid brain! Stop!" She banged her fists against her head dramatically.
Muchen buried his face in his hands, his stomach churning with embarrassment and disbelief. "Check again," he pleaded. "You must’ve mixed up my reports with someone else’s. Maybe the machine is broken or—"
"Nope!" The doctor grinned triumphantly. "This is the third time we’ve confirmed it. The first time was when you fainted, and we were checking for a concussion. That’s when we found this anomaly. We tested your urine and blood samples too. You are definitely pregnant."
The doctor leaned back on a stool, a proud smile plastered on his face. "I’m going to make history writing a report on this."
Muchen’s breath hitched. The world around him seemed to blur, the steady beeping of the heart monitor growing louder.
"I’m too tired for this bullshit," he muttered, his voice hoarse. "Shao, get me discharged. I don’t want to be treated by this lunatic."
Shao’s footsteps echoed as he approached the bed. His expression was unusually serious. "Muchen, think carefully. When did you and Yunfeng... you know, do it?"
Muchen’s face grew even hotter. His eyes darted nervously toward Hana, who was grimacing and muttering to herself. "We don’t need to talk about this in front of a child."
"Muchen." Shao’s tone was firm, unyielding. "Tell me."
"I... we... it happened about a month ago. Yunfeng was drunk, and... things kind of got out of hand."
Shao sighed, his gaze sharp as he turned to the doctor. "Doctor," he said coldly.
The older man blinked at him, his enthusiasm fading.
"This is a private hospital. You brought in all your trainee doctors without our permission." Shao’s voice was calm but edged with steel. "I could have you sued."
The doctor paled. "B-but sir, I was only trying to teach my students—"
"This is my client’s private matter. You turned it into a teaching session without consent. If this information leaks, we will sue every single one of you." Shao pulled out his phone and quickly typed something. "I’ve sent an NDA to you. Forward it to everyone. I want it signed immediately. Any leaks, and you’re all getting sued."
The doctors exchanged panicked glances. This was a VIP patient, and they had crossed a line.
Shao’s business-like smile returned. "Now, sign the agreements and step outside. We’ll have a detailed discussion about this incident in the hallway."
The doctors hurriedly filed out, murmuring nervously among themselves.
Shao glanced at Muchen. "I’ll be back in ten minutes." He gestured for Hana to follow him.
Left alone, Muchen finally had a moment to process everything.
The antiseptic smell no longer registered. His senses dulled as the truth settled in.
Pregnant... A baby... He was carrying Yunfeng’s child.
A sharp ache blossomed in his chest. Leaning forward, he hugged his bent knees, his breath hitching. "How is this possible? I’m a guy..." he whispered, his voice breaking.
As if in response, a faint pain bloomed in his stomach.
Startled, he gently touched his belly. The pain instantly faded, replaced by a strange warmth.
"I’m with child... there’s actually a baby in there..." His lips unknowingly curled into a small smile. "It’s our baby."
Yunfeng loved kids.
The smile vanished, replaced by pure fury. "He left me pregnant! Oh, I’m going to fucking kill that bastard!"
