Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 81: I Just Couldn’t Adapt to the Change Immediately
Chapter 81 - 81: I Just Couldn't Adapt to the Change Immediately
Seeing Helena running over with her phone, Lily Turner's first thought was that Easton Holmes was calling, and she hurriedly walked up to meet her.
"It's Freya calling!"
As they met, Helena handed the phone to Lily. Hearing that it was Freya Yeager calling, Lily's hand paused for a moment as she took the phone.
"Hello! Freya!"
"What's wrong with you?"
Just after being reproached by the director, Lily was not in a good mood, her emotions naturally becoming low. On the other end, Freya sensed something was off.
Freya's abrupt question left Lily a bit confused, "Hmm? What's wrong with me?"
"Your emotions seem off." Freya paused and asked, "Did something happen on the set?"
Only now did Lily realize Freya sensed her unease. She instinctively shook her head in denial, "No."
"What did you need me for?" In order to avoid further probing from the other end, she quickly changed the subject.
Freya cooperated by not pressing further on the previous topic, "I called to tell you that, under the company's firm stance, that website has deleted the post by Jenny York. Jenny also issued a public statement of the truth and an apology on that site."
"Really?"
Lily had been following the development of this matter for days. Hearing Freya's news, she couldn't quite believe it for a moment.
Freya nodded, "It's true. If you don't believe what I say, you can check the website yourself. Jenny York's statement of truth and apology is right at the most prominent spot on the page."
"I don't doubt you, it's just that I can't wrap my head around it for the moment." Lily didn't continue the conversation with Freya. After speaking, she directly hung up and opened that website on her phone.
Sure enough, right at the most prominent spot on the page, Lily saw Jenny York's statement of truth and apology. However, she didn't feel relieved.
She knew Jenny York well; Jenny wouldn't let it go so easily. That day, Jenny had said over the phone that she wouldn't let things slide with her.
Lily opened her phone's call history and reviewed it several times, but there wasn't any incoming call labeled as Easton.
"Lily Turner! Get ready to shoot!"
Just as Lily was hesitating whether to send Easton Holmes a text message, the director called her from the other side. Her recent performance had already dissatisfied everyone.
She couldn't continue being downhearted and upset everyone, so she took a deep breath, turned off her phone, handed it to Helena, and quickly walked toward the filming set.
It wasn't until after two in the morning that Lily finished the day's shoot and returned to the hotel. When she got out of the car, she saw a figure at the corner of the hotel entrance, the silhouette appearing very familiar.
She stopped to take a closer look, and when she recognized who it was, she frowned slightly.
It's him?! Why is he here?
Did he come here specifically to find her? Or did he run into her by chance while taking care of other business here?
"Lily! What are you looking at? Going inside?"
Hearing Helena's voice coming from beside her, Lily quickly withdrew her gaze, turned to reply to Helena, "Helena! You go in first, I'm going to the convenience store nearby to buy something."
