Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game-Chapter 38: From Dirt to Thread
Chapter 38 - 38: From Dirt to Thread
Morning came.
Caelen sat up and stretched. "I already got the mythril," he muttered. "But I still want to mine."
He grabbed his mythril pickaxe and walked into the mine again.
He opened the screen.
[Google: detect nearby ores:]
[Detected: gold ore, iron ore, copper deposit]
"Perfect."
He walked deeper and found the copper first. Then the gold. Then the iron.
He mined them all and placed them into his inventory.
Back home, he fired up the forge.
He tossed in the iron ore and smelted it down. Then he poured the melted iron into a pan mold.
Once it cooled, he looked at it.
"It's ugly."
He melted it again.
Tried again.
Still bad.
He kept trying. Ten times. Fifteen times.
On the twentieth try, the pan looked decent.
He nodded. "Good enough."
Then he used the leftover iron to make a fork, a spoon, and a knife. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
They were simple, but clean.
Later, he stepped outside and looked at his house.
He saw cracks and weak spots in the wood.
"I need to upgrade this."
He pulled out the iron nails he made and started working.
Zira saw him and came over. "You building again?"
"Yeah. Help me hold this beam."
She helped him fix the frame. Together, they nailed in stronger support.
After some time, the house looked more stable.
"Thanks," he said.
She smiled. "You always build weird stuff."
He chuckled.
Then he checked the silkworm container.
There were silky cocoons inside.
He carefully pulled out ten.
He brought them inside and sat at his small workbench.
[Google: how to make shirt and pants or shorts]
[Answer: To make simple clothes, you need cloth, thread, scissors, and a needle. Cut the cloth into shape, then sew the edges together with thread using the needle.]
"Oof. Okay..."
[Google: how to make thread and needles]
[Answer: You can make thread by twisting long fibers like silk or cotton together. For needles, you can shape thin metal with a point and a small hole at the end.]
He twisted the silk into thin thread. It was tricky but soft.
Then he shaped a tiny iron piece into a needle, punching a hole in the end.
After that, he made rough cloth using the silk. It wasn't smooth, but it held together.
He cut out the shape of a shirt and slowly sewed it.
He pricked his finger a few times.
After hours of sewing, he had a plain, wrinkled shirt.
It wasn't great—but it was real.
He held it up and smiled.
He walked outside where Zira, Garin, and the kids were sitting.
He showed the shirt.
"I made this."
They blinked.
Zira stepped closer. "From what?"
"Silk."
Miko gasped. "You made that?!"
Rena poked it. "It's real..."
Garin nodded slowly. "That's impressive."
Zira held it up and smiled. "It's not pretty... but it's honest."
Caelen scratched his head. "I'll try pants next."
Zira looked at him with soft eyes. "You're weird, Caelen."
"Thanks?"
She laughed. "That wasn't a bad thing."
She sat beside him. A little closer than usual.
Caelen didn't notice.
He just stared at the stars. "Feels like things are finally moving."
Zira stayed quiet, then spoke. "Can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Why do you keep helping us?"
He thought for a second. "I don't know. Just feels right."
Zira smiled, eyes soft. "You're not like the others."
He blinked. "Others?"
"Humans."
Caelen didn't know what to say.
She leaned her head slightly on his shoulder.
He froze.
"You're warm," she said softly.
Caelen turned red but stayed still.
