Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game-Chapter 47: Whisper Beyond the Forest
Chapter 47 - 47: Whisper Beyond the Forest
The morning sun peeked through the trees as Caelen stood outside his house, stretching. The village was waking up slowly. Smoke curled from the blacksmith hut, and birds chirped above.
Caelen looked at the dwarves and elves sitting near the fire pit, sipping tea and eating leftover stew. He joined them and asked, "What's outside the Forgotten Forest? Any of you ever been out there?"
Borin rubbed his beard. "No idea. I've lived in the mountains my whole life. Never stepped outside this cursed forest."
Dorgrim nodded. "Same here. Was too busy hammerin' to go sightseein'."
Elira stirred her tea. "We came from the north part, but... we've never left the forest either. None of us really know what's out there."
Caelen frowned. "So no one's seen the outside?"
Laen shook his head. "No. And to be honest... it's dangerous. The deeper you go, the more monsters you find."
"Not just monsters," Fen added. "The goblins and orcs... they're not fighting each other anymore. We've heard rumors. They're teaming up. Trying to make one big nation."
"Like a goblin-orc alliance?" Caelen raised an eyebrow.
"Exactly," Elira said. "And they don't like elves, humans, or dwarves."
Caelen looked down at the grass, then opened his status menu quietly.
[System: Search – Forgotten Forest Size]
He waited. Then the screen lit up.
[Result: The Forgotten Forest covers an area roughly the size of Antarctica.]
Caelen blinked. "...That big?"
His mind raced. If the forest was that massive, then how big was the whole world? And if he survived here, could he survive beyond it too?
A spark of excitement stirred in his chest.
"Hey," he said suddenly. "Let's go explore a little today. Not far, just outside our area. Golems will guard the village."
Zira looked up. "You sure?"
"Yeah. I want to see more."
Not long after, Caelen, Zira, Garin, the dwarves, and the three elves set out. Two golems stayed behind to guard the village.
The group walked for nearly an hour, deeper into a side path near the river. Trees here were taller, older. Sunlight barely touched the ground.
They stopped by a riverbank. The water was calm, and the sand was soft.
Caelen knelt, running his hand through it. "This is perfect for glass," he said. He pulled out empty bags from his inventory.
[System: Sand collected – 4 bags]
He packed them and stored them back into his inventory.
While the others rested, Caelen walked a bit ahead and spotted some strange flowers growing near a mossy rock.
He stopped.
[System: Analyze Plant – Redleaf Herb – Safe for potions]
He picked a few carefully.
Then another.
[System: Analyze Plant – Dullroot – Non-poisonous, no use]
He skipped that one.
He kept going, scanning herbs and flowers, only picking the useful ones. Garin and Fen joined in, helping him collect more.
Once their bags were full, Caelen said, "Alright, let's head back."
Back at the village, everyone helped unload the bags. Caelen walked over to an open space near his house and started drawing shapes on the ground.

He shaped the foundation with Earth magic, then used golems to help stack stones and wood.
It took about an hour, but soon a small, neat storage shed stood ready.
He made signs from wood and scratched in words with a sharp rock.
"Food. Tools. Ore. Herbs. Sand. Misc."
He looked at the others. "My inventory's getting full. I want to keep things neat."
Zira peeked inside. "It's actually cute."
Elira smiled. "You even labeled it."
Caelen shrugged. "Better than losing stuff."
While they sorted materials, Rena came over, dragging a small sack. "Caelen, where should I put this one?"
He checked it.
[System: Bones – Small animal – Crafting use]
"Put it in the 'misc' bin."
She nodded and skipped over.
Garin leaned against the shed. "You really like organizing, huh?"
Caelen smiled. "It helps me think."
Borin chuckled. "Wish my old forge looked this clean."
Dorgrim took a sip from his mug. "He's like a fussy old librarian, this one."
Caelen rolled his eyes but grinned.
As the sun began to set, the group sat near the fire again. They talked, laughed, and passed food around.
The forest was still dangerous. The world outside was still unknown. But today, they had done something small that felt big.
And that was enough. For now.
