Shrouded Seascape-Chapter 1094. Daniel
Chapter 1094. Daniel
It was clear that these people had just obtained their special abilities, and it was proven by their rough control over their abilities. Obviously, they weren't a match for Anna and her group.
As the chaotic battle continued, the scales of victory started tilting toward Anna's side.
Daniel's face was unsightly as he observed the scene before him. This was completely different from what he had imagined. They were supposed to make quick work of these people based on the number of people he had brought with him for this mission.
After taking a closer look, he noticed some strange things. Not everyone on the opposing side was strong. Those bringing down his subordinates were always the same few individuals.
The majority of the other side's firepower revolved around those few people.
Someone was beneath the floor, dragging Daniel's subordinates into it; someone was wearing a mask and was capable of possessing others; the last one was nowhere to be found, but the bodies constantly falling to the floor proved their existence.
This couldn't go on. Daniel knew that he had to take down those few people, or they would fail this mission!
The clown was about to sever his own throat when a loud clang echoed followed by sparks flying into the air. The clown was then blasted away upon taking the brunt of the attack.
A black-suited bodyguard raised his gun to shoot at the attacker, but his upper body abruptly shattered, exploding into dozens of meat chunks before he could even pull the trigger.
Anna's heart clenched at the sight. Then, her figure trembled at a high frequency, and she narrowly avoided getting hit by a bullet. The other party clearly knew how to make use of Anomalies along with modern weaponry.
"Roy, take me to their ship!" Anna exclaimed, turning to Roy.
Roy streaked across the skies and landed just above Anna's head. He then reached out with his right hand to pull her up from the floor. The gravity acting on the two changed instantly; the blue sky was on their left, while the chaotic deck was on their right.
Roy and Anna rapidly plummeted, and it just so happened that the other party's warship was right below them.
High-caliber bullets flew toward them at breakneck speed, but they simply phased through their figures, all thanks to Anna's special ability.
Soon, Anna saw rows of heavy anti-materiel sniper rifles standing vertically on the warship to her left. She let go of Roy's hand, and gravity's influence on her instantly returned to normal.
She flew like a meteor toward the sniper rifles down below.

Before Anna could arrive, her green, corrosive flames beat her to the chase. The snipers and their spotters erupted into flames one after another. In the blink of an eye, they were reduced to ashes, and the long-range against the people on the luxury cruise no longer existed.
However, the fight wasn't over yet. Since everyone on the warship was an enemy, Anna spared them no quarter—she killed everyone in sight.
The soldiers on the warship took out various modern weapons to fight back, but unfortunately, Anna was completely immune to physical attacks. They were left with no choice but to either die or jump into the sea out of desperation.
Bodies fell one after another as Anna conducted a slaughter on the warship.
Anna turned to the bridge and dashed toward it. Her plan was to engulf the warship in flames. Before she could begin her plan, however, a purple beam of light shot over from the right, colliding with Anna's barrier.
Anna turned and saw the other side's leader. He was the same square-faced man sporting sunglasses from earlier, and his face was solemn as he stood in front of Anna while pointing a pitch-black, three-fingered claw at her.
"Oh, you look familiar. Aren't you the one who said that humanity will soon welcome their new gods?" Anna mocked with one hand on her hip. "How much did you drink before coming here? You really think you're qualified to say that?"
Daniel was well aware of just how powerful the Asian woman before him was; Anna was strong, and to make matters worse, those powerful people earlier were her subordinates.
He knew that they had hired a team of hunters, but he hadn't expected this group of hunters to be so abnormally strong. Weren't hunters supposed to be bullies who only knew how to prey on the weak but cower before the strong?
Daniel took a deep breath and lowered the withered, three-fingered claw in his hand, saying, "Hey, friend, there are no grudges between us, so how about we talk this out? My lord can pay double the amount he offered you."
If one couldn't beat one's enemies, then one ought to negotiate instead. It was a reasonable course of action, but obviously, Anna had no plans to negotiate with him.
"I can kill you, so why should I talk this out with you?" Anna asked, and the glint in her narrowed eyes sent a chill down Daniel's spine.
"I have to admit that you're strong; you can manipulate flames, and you can phase through things as well. You're also extremely good at wielding your abilities.
"However, if you think that you can defeat us with just that, then I'm afraid you're overestimating yourself!" Daniel declared, looking solemn.
Flames? He saw me use my green, corrosive flames? Anna quietly marked Daniel for death.
"Or what? Are you telling me that you still have a trump card? You can't set off a nuclear bomb on a ship, can you?" Daniel asked, smiling coldly. Then, he threatened, "Your special abilities are from Anomalies, but not all Anomalies are suitable for human absorption.
"Some particularly dangerous Anomalies remain particularly dangerous even after being absorbed. One of those anomalies is currently being held in the lower hold of this ship. With just one word from me, it will be released, and we'll all be done for!"
"And that's why I'm giving you a chance—leave now, and it's a win-win for all of us."
Anna pondered over it for a few seconds before laughing. "Oh my, is that so? All right, then. Actually, I'm not really that loyal to that fat guy. I'm just protecting him in exchange for money.
"Do you have a speedboat or something on this ship? Give me one. I'll take my people and leave. You can then deal with that however you like."
"Of course." Daniel nodded and cautiously retreated toward the corridor behind him. "Please follow me."
Just as Daniel turned around, a beam of purple light flew out of his armpit and pierced Anna's glabella.
At the same time, Anna made her move. A cluster of green, corrosive flames stuck to Daniel's back, setting the latter ablaze.
Right before the corrosive flames could reduce him to mere ashes, his figure split open, and an antique bronze door burst out of him, devouring Anna's corrosive flames.
When the antique bronze door closed, Daniel's figure was restored. He looked at the woman in front of him with a solemn face. She had clearly taken a direct hit from his strongest attack, but she was still unscathed.
The two had clearly given up on talking this out. Since they were deceiving each other, a conversation was useless. There was only one thing they ought to do—fight to the death!
With a mere thought on Anna's end, clusters of green, corrosive flames manifested and flew toward Daniel.
In response, Daniel took off his top, and the same antique bronze door from earlier appeared on his chest. He made use of that door to devour the corrosive flames.
The battle was a fresh experience for Anna, as this was the first time she encountered someone unafraid of her corrosive flames. After all, the corrosive flames she could manifest were from a god in the Subterranean Sea.
Anna deduced that the bizarre door within Daniel wasn't from an Anomaly.
Amidst Anna's relentless attacks, Daniel wasn't idle. He raised the withered, three-fingered claw in his hand, and different beams of light flew toward Anna.
A beam of blue light phased through Anna's figure and struck a wall lamp behind her. The circular wall lamp transformed into a toaster and slid off the wall, falling to the ground with a loud clang.
Realizing that her corrosive flames were useless, Anna raised her gun and fired.
Bang, bang, bang!
The sound of metal colliding against metal echoed as the bullet struck Daniel in the face.
Just where did these guys come from? Anna muttered to herself.
