SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 70: The Siege War begins
Chapter 70: The Siege War begins
Moonbeam: "That stupid well is a base of dark faction? I have been roaming here for several hours and didn’t find a single thing odd about it. Is the quest even correct?"
Glorious Light: "Shuddap. Look, our queen Aurora is headed for the well. She knows everything. We just need to follow her."
Holy Butterfly: "Did you guys hear? That villain, Blood God, shot up in rankings because of a zone event exactly like this. No, our event is a lot better. This should definitely push our Golden Lotus guild to the top."
"Let’s go! Golden Lotus! Golden Lotus!"
All the players started chanting. Rallying these many players in three days should have been impossible, but the impossible becomes possible when a common villain emerges.
Aurora walked with a determined expression in front of the crowd. Her emerald eyes shone with confidence, and her golden hair sparkled in the sunlight. Even in the middle of the crowd, she clearly stood out, a strong aura spilling out of her.
Standing next to her was a tall and handsome paladin, his silver armor gleaming under the afternoon sun. His jaw was square, his eyes steel-gray, and his presence in the guild unmistakably strong. Bertram, the vice-guild leader of Golden Lotus.
His paladin matched Aurora’s priest, and the two of them seemed to be a match made in heaven.
Holy Girl: "Kyaaa! Bertram is so handsome! I wish he would reply to my messages already!"
Healer SSS: "Stop trying to steal my boyfriend!"
Light witch: "You both bitches need to back off of my husband!"
Holy Zero: "Shut up, you idiotic women and focus on the event!"
Light Witch: "You shut up! You are just jealous of my Bertram! You cannot even stand next to him without looking like a pig."
Since all the bigwigs of the guild were present today, the crowd was going completely wild. However, the main roster of the guild was indifferent to these types of chatter and had a completely different attitude.
The group of elite ten stood at the front along with Aurora and Bertram, and there was also another middle-aged man with them. The holy symbol of the Radiant Church glowed on his breastplate, pulsing with faint energy.
This was Ser Elias Dorne, the Paladin Vanguard, and one of the few named NPCs strong enough to lead a faction event this early in the game.
Ser Elias Dorne didn’t speak much, but his silent presence was like a mountain. He surveyed the chanting crowd without emotion, eyes fixed on the well ahead as if he could already see the darkness writhing beneath it.
While the players buzzed with excitement, Elias remained perfectly still, fingers resting on the hilt of his glowing longsword. Soon, they arrived closer to the well, and the event started counting down. An invisible barrier stopped them from approaching further.
Bertram raised a hand, and instantly the chanting died down. His voice rang out, crisp and clear. "This is our moment. The Blood God has humiliated us, broken our pride, and stolen from all of us, healer class players. Today, we return the favor. That rat is somewhere here, hiding among the sewers. Today we will kill the rat and purify the city of filth."
"Dark faction players are scum who have dishonorable intentions in their mind. They are the players who steal, rob and kill and make innocent people experience unbearable pain. Many dark faction players are real life scums. They are the thugs because of whom our women cannot walk on the streets safely. Heck, they can’t even play the game safely."
"It is a great honor that we, the Golden Lotus guild have grabbed this opportunity to erase the dark faction players from the game. Let’s kill the scum and the filth. Leave no one alive! Today we will emerge victorious!"
Bertram’s words hit like fire, echoing through the tense silence that followed. The crowd, previously rowdy and playful, shifted. Their posture changed. Faces grew grim. The aura turned militant. What started as a PvP raid had morphed, on Bertram’s tongue, into a crusade.
Adding to his words, Aurora nodded, her staff rising high, casting a gentle golden light over the crowd. Immediately everyone’s natural health regeneration within the area increased by 5%. "Let the Radiance guide our blades," she said softly. "And may no darkness escape judgment."
"Golden Lotus!" Bertram roared again, his sword pointed toward the well. "Forward!"
Behind them, Ser Elias Dorne remained still, but his blade slowly slid free from its sheath. Its edge shimmered faintly with light elemental magic, and the moment it left the scabbard, a notification popped up for every player in the zone.

The next moment the barrier dropped outside the well dropped and the dozens of Golden Lotus guild players charged forward. There were at least 100 or 200 players in the area. They were all mostly priest or paladin type players.
Though they had all joined Golden Lotus guild temporarily for the sake of hunting down the villanious Blood God, they had some sort of team work. The pure healing type players stayed back while the paladins and the mixed combat heals charged forward.
The NPC Elias did not make a move at the moment. However, no one cared about this since the opposite side seemed completely deserted and empty. Where did all the dark faction players go? At this rate, many wondered if they were going to get a free win. It was too easy. Too quiet.
Aurora had a frown on her face. "What is happening? Where is the enemy?"
Bertram snorted in disdain. "I think the dark faction players saw our numbers and logged out."
Aurora nodded but there was clearly doubt on her face. The next second her eyes widened as she saw a figure emerge from the well, completely shrouded in darkness. He was visible barely for a second before disappearing.
Suddenly, a healer from the back line collapsed clutching his throat.
