"The event just started? Someone died already? How could this be possible?" A player shouted. When everybody turned back to look, a black shadow disappeared from the scene of the crime. Before they could think about this, another notification popped up.

The entire guild was left completely speechless. The well in front of them looked as deserted as always. No one had even seen the enemy yet. How could their side players be dying before the battle even began?

Screams erupted from the rear ranks as panic spread. The tightly packed formation of priests began to fray. Some turned to look for the attacker—others instinctively cast healing spells into the air, confused and terrified.

Aurora’s voice rang out, urgent but steady. "Stay calm! Formation, stay in formation! Paladins, spread out and form a screen!"

"Where the hell is he?!" Bertram growled, spinning with his blade drawn.

"Wait—there! I saw something!" Moonbeam shrieked, pointing toward a tree. But by the time others looked, there was only a flicker of darkness melting into nothingness.

Panic started spreading through the rearline. The healers, who were meant to be safely nestled behind the paladin wall, were dropping like flies.

Aurora’s brows furrowed. "This isn’t possible. There’s no spell range that long. No assassin could move this fast..."

Then, the siege war leaderboard popped up.

A deathly silence gripped the players. "BLOOD GOD!" someone finally screamed, pointing at the figure standing behind one of the healers and slicing the guy’s throat. A blood red glow could be seen on his palm, and before long, the glow, along with Blood God, disappeared from the scene, the healer’s lifeless body falling to the ground.

Bertram growled, eyes scanning the battlefield. "That bastard is already inside our lines. He’s picking off the weak one by one!"

"He’s alone," Aurora whispered, her eyes scanning furiously. "It’s just him." She repeated the words almost as if she couldn’t believe what was happening.

A single player dared to stand and fight in a siege war against a hundred-plus players? Wait, the system acknowledged his power? How else could this Siege War even be issued in the first place?

Bertram’s expression darkened. "That fucking bastard is so slippery. Paladins start casting Holy Chains now! Don’t let that bastard escape!"

Aurora added to the command. "Light healers! Target the shadows. Start casting ’Let there be light."

Before the commands could even go out, another two players dropped dead.

A golden rain of light spells lit up the battlefield like fireworks. Dozens of healers began casting Let There Be Light, a wide-area holy spell meant to illuminate hidden enemies and burn shadow-aligned units.

But the problem was, there were shadows everywhere.

The players were desperate and did not give up. They continued casting the spell until finally every single inch of the battleground glowed with bright golden radiance. The spell flared against every crevice and ruin, until there were no shadows left in the entire region.

Such a sight was completely breathtaking. The entire field shimmered like daylight poured from the heavens. Every nook, every ruin, every crumbled wall was drenched in the light faction’s divine magic. There was simply nowhere Damon could hide anymore.

The players let out a sigh of relief, many finally gaining confidence. Their eyes began furiously searching for the godamn Blood God! It was only a matter of seconds before that bastard was caught and thrashed!

And just like everyone expected, a figure finally revealed itself in their midst.

But it wasn’t what they expected.

The figure that emerged from the light wasn’t flailing or running. He wasn’t blinking in panic or trying to hide behind rocks. No, he was standing straight, tall, and absolutely unfazed.

"Looking for me?" Damon smiled.

A dozen spells immediately hit the spot where he was standing but his speed was above a notch. His figure already disappeared from the area.

"How is he doing this? We just took out all the shadows?" Someone shouted.

"Shit! He is going to run and escape!" Someone else shouted.

While everyone prepared to rush to the perimeter to prevent the villain Blood God from running away, right in front of everyone, the figure which disappeared appeared again.

Everyone was shell shocked!

Blood God appeared smackdab in the middle of the dozens of priests and paladins. In fact, he was standing among the elites of the Golden Lotus guild.

No, he was standing right in front of Aurora, the guild leader of the Golden Lotus guild.

Aurora’s heart skipped a beat. In the shadow of his presence, she suddenly felt a little small, a little nervous and a little scared. Her emerald eyes anxiously darted to the eyes of the man who had terrorized this game right from the beginning, the man deemed as a monster and a villain. The man who had problem with killing anyone who stood in his path.

Aurora’s lips parted as she sucked in a small breath. This was not the first video game she was playing. She was a guild leader who commanded many and stood at the forefront of many battles. And now... she was standing like a rock.

Of course, this game was different because of how realistic everything was. Despite that, she never expected to just stand there like a statue in front of this man.

She had been actively hunting the damned guy and he was right in front of her now and yet all she could do was stare at him. His eyes... why was it crimson?
