SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 82 - 3 Day Wonder
Chapter 82: 3 Day Wonder
Damon got out of the dungeon after thoroughly farming each and every mob inside. His level did not increase much, but overall, he had gained 10 extra stat points, 3 in intelligence, 4 in agility, and 3 in strength.
It turned out that beasts lower than his level gave him fewer stat points on bloodline extraction. His plan of farming level 5 wolves for bonus stat points went right out the window.
But the dungeon grind was worth it nevertheless. He had a much better understanding of shadow element skills and execution, and he had gained a couple of new skills to boot. He also managed to level up three shadow element skills.
Last but not least, he scored about 45 mana cores.
Overall, the trip was productive. But he needed more of all of those. So Damon continued going. His next target was a dungeon an hour away. The city was still quite peaceful, and Damon cruised through the forest casually.
On the way, he checked the local chat, and just like he had expected, some things had finally come out. Many players had started guessing certain things. One important thing being the existence of vampires in the game.
Thanks to Varnyx’s exaggerated show back in the battlefield, many players had seen the blood field and the pure crimson aura wafting off him. It was not difficult to put two and two together from there, considering the vivid imagination certain talented gossipers had.
Of course, his name, Blood God, also added fuel to the fire. With a name like that, he might as well have added, I am a vampire to his tag.
Though Damon wanted to keep this piece of information to himself as long as possible, he did not mind trading it in for the spoils of the little siege war. Besides, no one knew how to convert to the vampire race just yet. So they might be able to guess his race, but there was little anyone could do about it.
Another interesting development Damon noticed was two additional system-wide notifications that had popped in while he was in the dungeon. One was a dungeon record set by the guild, Celestial Bastion, and the other was a world boss clear set by the guild Black Valor.
Both the guilds were famous guilds from Damon’s last life. Though these two were not part of the super 10, they were still top-tier guilds. It was comforting to know some things were still the way they were meant to be. If he altered the timeline too much then new variables beyond his control might rise up without his knowledge.
Well, it was already too late to worry about this so Damon let that go and continued reading. Soon his lips tugged upwards into a grin. It looked like his stalkers had suffered a terrible fate.
The Golden Lotus drama was funny to watch. As more and more Golden Lotus guild members respawned, they began to quit the guild and move onto other cities. Local chat was filled with players mocking them mercilessly. Their members had started quitting in droves.
Even the guild elites were leaving, demoralized after getting flattened repeatedly during the siege. Word was spreading: the infamous "Blood God" questline was a death sentence.
The cherry on top? People had started calling Golden Lotus the "Day Three Wonder"—a guild that soared to fame in one day, and imploded the next.
Aurora’s sudden death right in the beginning of the battle also didn’t help. The bonding and camaraderie in the guild was a joke to begin with as it had only been 3 days into the game. As such, the Golden Lotus guild became a big joke.
Aurora’s death had shattered what little cohesion the group had. With no loyalty, no strategy, and no leadership... the guild that once boasted elite aspirations had become a laughingstock.
"3 day wonder huh?" Damon couldn’t help but smile. He was pretty sure there were still some players with Aurora but atleast his city should be free and clear now without holy and divine platers swarming everywhere. Not that he minded farming them for more skills.
A roar sounded in front of him and Damon quickly closed the system screen and focussed on the beast in front of him. He was now in saber-tooth territory and the big cat was already crouched low in the bushes, its amber eyes fixed on him like he was dinner delivered on a silver platter.
Naturally, he had already sensed the beast a mile away thanks to his heightened senses. "Easy there, kitty," Damon muttered, cracking his neck as he conjured a shadow dagger.
Umbra’s lesser shadow magic gave him a lot more control over the shadow element than he had expected. He wanted to give this method a try.
[Ding! You have learned a new skill: Umbra’s Shadow Dagger]
Description: Conjure a dagger made from condensed shadow energy. Costs 30 mana per use. Deals 200% weapon damage + 10% bonus per Shadow Affinity point. If used from stealth or shadowmeld, deals an additional 50% bonus damage and applies [Shadow Wound] for 10 seconds, reducing healing received by 25%.
Damon’s eyes gleamed as the shadow dagger shimmered into existence in his hand—sleek, black as void, and humming faintly with power. He spun it once between his fingers, testing its weight. Light as air, but the pressure in the air said otherwise.
"Can I do two?" He tried making another one and immediately another shadow dagger materialized in his left hand.
Damon had never really tried double weapon combat before but now that he had the dagger mastery skill, he had a general idea of how to use two daggers to attack. If he leveled up the skill, he should get a better idea of the combat skill.
"Thanks for waiting kitty. Let’s go."
The level 45 saber-tooth who was threateningly prowling all this time revealed an angry expression hearing his remark. How dare this human treat it as a joke? The beast roared and pounced the next second.
