SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God-Chapter 83: Next step
Chapter 83: Next step
The saber-tooth lunged, claws outstretched, fangs gleaming with saliva. It was fast, but Damon was faster.
He vanished mid-step using [Blink], reappearing behind the beast in a crouch. Both shadow daggers slashed out in an X formation, cutting across the monster’s hind legs just as it landed. A spray of blood and shadow burst into the air.
[Ding! Critical Hit! Saber-Tooth – 1090 damage dealt.]
[Ding! Shadow Wound applied.]
The beast shrieked and twisted, swiping its tail like a whip to knock him away, but Damon ducked low and slipped under it, his daggers dancing across its underbelly in a flurry of shadowy arcs. The hits could be better but they were good enough to get the job done.
The saber-tooth tried leaping back to reset the fight using its wind affinity and increasing its speed, but Damon activated [Shadowstep] and reappeared mid-air above the beast, both daggers pointed down.
"Not happening."
He plunged the blades deep into its spine as he dropped down, driving it into the dirt with a crunch. Shadow energy rippled through the impact zone, coating the earth in writhing tendrils of darkness. Damon ended the beast and absorbed all of the blood energy he could get his hands on.

[Target: Saber-tooth Mauler]
[Ding! You have extracted the ability: ’Wind Zone’]
[Ding! You have killed the Saber-tooth Mauler]
[Ding! You have gained experience points.]
Damon shoved the loot into his ring and tested the new skill, Wind Zone.
[Wind Zone (E Rank, Active)] – Creates a localized area of turbulent wind around the user, expanding up to 10 meters in radius. All enemies within the zone have their movement speed reduced by 20%, while the user’s speed increases by 30%. Duration: 12 seconds. Mana Cost: 60. Cooldown: 90 seconds.
Damon raised an eyebrow as he read the description. "Now that’s interesting."
He activated the skill, and in an instant, the air around him burst into motion. Leaves and dust swirled in a tight circle, forming a low, roaring cyclone around his body. The wind wrapped around him like a living cloak, making his hair whip wildly and his clothes flutter.
He darted forward, testing the effect—and sure enough, he felt lighter, quicker. Each step had a spring to it, and his acceleration was noticeably sharper. "Damn. This pairs beautifully with blink and shadowstep."
The swirling zone persisted as Damon moved, following him like an aura, and he imagined it in a crowded battlefield—slowing enemies down while he zipped through them like a blade in a storm. It was a mobility spell and a disruption field rolled into one.
"Definitely keeping this." He deactivated the skill and let the winds die out, the world returning to stillness once more. He checked the friend list again and Mark and Kate were still greyed out.
Damon did not like it. He clenched his fists and pumped up his speed yet again as he started farming more saber-tooths.
"Why does it have to be these cute kitties~~" Blood Reign whined but Damon did not answer her. After shadow element, he decided to farm some wind element skills as these could really complement his current combat style. Shadow for stealth and burst, wind for speed and control and blood for power. It was an absurdly lethal combo if he could master it properly.
The next saber-tooth didn’t even get a proper roar out before Damon zipped in with Wind Zone activated, chaining Blink into Shadowstep and carving a spiral of cuts across its flanks. Blood Reign cooed, "Oh, I do love when you’re quiet and deadly. So focused. So cold. Are you mad, darling?"
Damon didn’t answer. The saber-tooth fell. Then another. And another. Damon farmed like a storm given form, wind swirling at his heels, shadow dancing at his fingertips. The forest began to quiet, the local predators thinned out, their mana cores claimed, their blood harvested.
[Ding! You have extracted the ability: Wind Blade]
[Ding! You have extracted the ability: Swiftstep]
[Ding! Dexterity +1]
[Ding! Wind Affinity +1]
Soon Damon hit level 35 and he stopped farming. He did not want to increase his level any further without finishing the special body tempering quest. He checked the quest details again. A drop of elven blood and a drop of divine blood.
He already had the drop of divine blood and now for the elven blood...
Damon decided that randomly farming players hoping that someone would be of elven descent was a fool’s errand. He needed a proper plan of action.
These past couple of days he had thought about this and the best strategy he could come up with was to target the half-elven princess of the Valewyn Dynasty, Princess Lirae Sylvaris.
The King had an affair with an elf and the result was Lirae. Though publicly acknowledged as his "adopted niece," everyone who mattered in the royal court knew her true identity.
Her existence was a political powder keg, neither fully elven nor fully human, but possessing the bloodline of both royal houses. It was also why she was quietly assigned to a remote outpost near the Emerald Veil, far from the capital’s attention. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
In Damon’s last life, she had only become relevant to players much later, during the Forest War arc, when high-level quests revealed her bloodline and strategic value.
She had actually died as a part of that quest and many players lamented her death as one of the great tragedies of the game, considering how alarmingly beautiful she was.
Damon did not want to touch this part of the storyline just yet because there were several treasure chests and other drops to be farmed here. If he messed up with anything, then he might lose a lot more.
But now he did not want to wait any longer. With the sword still hanging over his neck and his execution date set at the end of the month, he was risking a lot more by not taking this shot.
Damon packed up his hunt in the saber-tooth territory and started making his way back to the Niera city teleportation portals. It was time to go to Valewyn Dynasty, the neighbouring kingdom.
