Chapter 270: Competition Start (7)
"Ah, don’t speak nonsense." James rolled his eyes. He pushed his glasses up. "I won’t lose so easily either, though."
Aya sensed the mana fluctuation and immediately stood in front of Leon. Mana flowed into her hand and then she said, "If you dare to make a move here, I don’t mind punching you out of the building."
James stopped his mana and looked at Aya with narrowed eyes.
People from the Ruler Family would have enhanced mana perception. At this moment, he could tell that Aya is a very dangerous person and his chance of beating her was close to 0.
’So strong?’
James remembered all the students who participated and he didn’t see Aya’s name. Moreover, he had long known that Aya was strong when they were in the academy back then. But he never paid too much attention to it because Aya completely focused on physical strength.
He never fought against Aya directly, but at this moment, he felt that if he dared to fight, there was even a chance for him to die.
This girl is really dangerous.
He had never felt this way unless he was facing those magic warriors who were already well known or very powerful like his teacher.
"I can deal with him," Leon said in dissatisfaction.
"If you make a move outside the arena, you will be disqualified," Aya said lightly and Leon immediately shut up. Even though Leon believed that he was stronger than James Ruler, he didn’t want to be eliminated even before fighting.
It was too embarrassing.
"Alright, alright, don’t fight here." the Green Family Patriarch patted James’s shoulder and looked at Silas. "Sorry, my students are a bit impulsive."
"It’s normal for them to be competitive," Silas replied with a shrug.
"Right...."
"Let’s meet again tomorrow."
They talked a bit more before going their separate ways. It was clear that they didn’t want to meet with each other for the time being.
"Get ready for your last round today," Silas said to the three children.
"Yes!"
Aya watched from the side and there was no upset.
The three of them passed the competition quite easily. However, it was clear that they had to start using rank 2 magic spells or they would not be able to pass. These people who participated in the academy also used rank 2 magic spells.
It was clear that the people left were already rank 3.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to use rank 2 magic spells repeatedly.
"Good job everyone." Silas smiled when he saw that they all managed to pass. "Shall we go back and rest first? How about if I treat you all to food?"
"Really?" Evan’s eyes lit up.
Aya looked at Silas with a strange expression and asked, "Do you really want to treat us to food?"
From what she remembered, Silas was not very rich right now. He did finish some missions over the past few days, but he was using most of his money to buy his own meal. Besides, he didn’t do many missions when he spent his time in that deep forest.
The strength of his puppet was limited and if Silas were to take harder missions, the puppet would be scrapped first.
Out of that consideration, Silas could only take some other missions.
But because of that, the amount of money he collected was not much.
Considering their appetite... would he not make himself bankrupt just from one meal?
Silas looked at Aya and coughed. "Let’s go to the outskirt and have a picnic."
"Hahaha!"
"Yes!"
The children laughed when they saw Silas’s expression and agreed right away. Anyway, they were used to fish there from time to time.
...
The first day passed by quietly.
Aya returned with Aren and Evan, feeling satisfied with the meal. They picked a lot of fishes and then roasted them all. The three children also followed behind and tagged along for the meal. At that moment, they realized why Silas had that expression.
Silas and Aya ate too much!
"How did your appetite increased even more?" Evan asked speechlessly as he looked at Aya.
"When your physical strength is stronger, your appetite will naturally increase," Aya replied calmly. She looked at her cousin and smiled faintly. "Good luck tomorrow."
"Don’t worry, I won’t lose so easily."
Evan rubbed his hand and pursed his lips. His element was only wind, so he has been practicing some other variety of wind magic spells. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to fight properly against his opponent.
"Right, Aren, what’s your magic element?" Aya remembered something and looked at her younger brother.
"It’s wind and water," Aren replied.
He was just like Aya, having two elements. Thanks to this, his magic spells were definitely more diverse than Evan but it couldn’t be compared to Aya.
"I see." Aya nodded and felt a bit doubtful.
If Aren only had two elements, why did she have so many elements?
Did something happen to their mother when she conceived her?
But no matter how much Aya was confused, she knew that this was not something for her to be concerned about. She could only push the thoughts back and didn’t think too much about it.
Anyway, two elements were quite good.
"Then use water for defense and wind for attack. It’s the best combination of these two elements," Aya replied.
For Aren, whose body was quite weak, he had to have sufficient defense in battle. Otherwise, his weak body would be an easy target for whoever saw him.
"I know," Aren replied calmly.
Evan looked at the two of them strangely. He didn’t have much interaction with Aren but now, he felt that the relationship between Aren and Aya was also very stiff.
"Let’s go back for now."
"Yes."
"Do you want to watch again tomorrow?"
"Father said that I can watch until the competition is over."
"Ok."
Aya thought about the White Family patriarch and had to say that she truly didn’t understand what her father was thinking.
