Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 130: The Interceptors
Chapter 130: The Interceptors
Jason picked up the card that the agent left on the table and he frowned when he only saw a single phone number written on it. There was no name and no company affiliation. But that didn’t mean Jason hadn’t heard the last words the man said. He mentioned he was from Gaia, didn’t he?
’The same company Dad told me to look out for.’
Jason hadn’t thought about them all this time because he didn’t think they would be this bold. His dad told him that Gaia was a secret organization, so he assumed they would never come out into the open like this, but it was obvious that he had been mistaken.
Jason slid into the chair beside Gina and spoke curiously.
"What did he say?"
Jason already knew some of what the agent had said, but there was a lot he didn’t hear over the phone. Gina spoke with a slight frown as she began to explain what happened to him. She told him about how the agent already knew they were holding an interworld traveler in their house and also how there were going to be ’consequences’ for keeping her.
"He was trying to make me convince you to give her to them. He said she was dangerous and it would be better if they kept her."
Jason narrowed his eyes. He was surprised that they already knew about the interworld traveler. The agent that had been watching him must’ve told them about it, but why were they trying to paint her as dangerous? Jason already knew the truth about her and he was sure she wasn’t dangerous. Was the government trying to get her for some other reason?
Gina continued.
"I told him that he could’ve just gone and taken her when we weren’t around, but he croaked. Did you ever meet with them before? Because I think he’s afraid of you."
Is that so? Jason hummed while folding his hands and leaning back in his seat. Gina had a small grin on her face as she thought about the look on the agent’s face when she mentioned him being afraid and she was sure that even if they weren’t afraid, they just didn’t want to get on Jason’s bad side.
Jason knew that he had never met one of those agents before, so he didn’t know what they would be afraid of.
’Maybe it’s not me they’re afraid of. Is it Dad? Dad said he used to know Gaia and their leader, Cerci. Did he do something to them?’
With how impulsive his father was, Jason wouldn’t be surprised if he really threatened a secret agency to make sure they didn’t mess with his family. But that wasn’t going to be enough anymore. The fact that they approached Gina like this meant that they had their eyes on everyone in Jason’s family.
Jason decided right then that he was no longer going to sit back and watch to see what they would do. Jason was going to start actively looking for the agents of Gaia, and when he found even one of them, he’d make them tell him everything about that fucking organization.
"Oh, hello dear. You must be the infamous boyfriend I’ve heard so much about. Oh my, you two look so good together, it’s so precious."
Suddenly, the old owner of the diner came around and spoke to Jason and Gina with her hands over her cheek. Gina blushed slightly and smiled at the woman, and Jason gave her a kind smile and thanked her. The old woman asked if they would like to order now and Gina nodded and ordered a lot of food since they were both going to eat a lot.
The old woman wrote it down and left to get their order and Jason wrapped a hand around Gina’s shoulder and held her close before kissing the top of her head.
"We’ll have to be more careful from now on so we don’t get caught off guard, alright? I don’t think this Gaia will stay away for long, and when the princess wakes up, they’ll likely come for her again."
Jason spoke up softly and Gina nodded while resting her head on his chest. She knew that they were likely going up against something much larger than anything she had ever faced before, but with Jason there, she had a feeling things would be fine. Jason just had a way of making things feel better. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Gina suddenly hummed and looked up at Jason.
"That’s right, the agent called you ’The King’. What was that all about?"
Jason looked at Gina in mild surprise. Just how much did these people know about him!? If they called him the King, then didn’t that mean they also knew he had the Necromancer System? Jason sighed and decided that he wouldn’t let it bother him too much.
The system already told him that the Necromancer System had been used by someone before, so Jason wouldn’t be surprised if more people knew about it. He had to find out more about this organization one way or another.
Jason suddenly blinked as his mind went back to the system. If the system had knowledge about most of the things in the Primordial Expanse, then why wouldn’t it also have information about Gaia?
’What can you tell me about Gaia?’
Jason asked this question to the system and a tab opened in front of Jason as the system responded.
[The government-funded organization known as Gaia exists with the aim of protecting the Earth from foreign threats from other worlds. Gaia as an organization had intercepted more than three hundred interworld species that planned to enter Earth through the use of Dimensional Tears. Their methods for containing these threats are likely not to be seen as moral or good by the masses, so they have dedicated major efforts to ensuring the general public knows nothing of their existence.]
The system’s response immediately explained everything that Jason had been concerned about. So that was why Gaia wanted the princess. They were the ones who were in charge of making sure no interworld species came to Earth.
Jason had been wondering why there weren’t more stories about aliens and interworld creatures coming here. With how easy it was for the princess to open a Dimensional Tear, it was obvious that other creatures or species would be able to do the same. But it turns out the reason why no one had heard about any creature from another world coming to Earth was because of Gaia.
’They’re like SHIELD in that old Avengers movie. Secret agents that’ll do anything to accomplish their goals. I’ll need to keep an eye out for them. It’s obvious that they don’t want to have any conflict with me for some reason, but I don’t like them watching my every move like this.’
"Jason, are you okay?"
Gina spoke up when she noticed that Jason hadn’t said anything for a while and Jason hummed as he snapped out of his thoughts. He had completely forgotten that Gina asked him a question! He brought Gina close once again and kissed the top of her head with a small apology.
"Sorry about that. I was thinking about something. Yeah, they called me King because of my Gift. I think the person in charge of Gaia might’ve known my father, but I’m not sure how much I can trust them. You did great handling things here, but we’ll need to stay on our toes in case they come at us again."
