Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 132
Yu Hua stared at her. Then he shoved the rest of the food into his mouth. "I won't," he said. "I still have responsibilities to fulfill." He clarified and earned a side look from Gale and Damian.
"But if you knew they are settled, you would come?"
"Once I have assured myself of it, yes," he said. Next to him, Damian made a gesture as if praying, while Gale smiled wryly.
"You want to?" she clarified again, and he gave her an indignant look.
"Yes. Eventually," he said, looking coolly at Damian and Gale. Gale, once Yu Hua was looking away, formed the word:
Kidnapping.
Tang Yin looked at him. She understood where he was coming from but made a helpless gesture. On the other hand, Damian merely held up his hand as if to tell her to wait, and then he held up a pack of expensive stationery. Tang Yin looked at him as if he could bribe her with that. Then he had it vanish when Yu Hua looked at him.
Chen Xin observed the silent communication happening with keen interest.
After they had finished eating, Damian drew her aside and leaned down. "I've thrown in a Gale Special costume to your desire."
"You are not bribing me to kidnap our fellow friend," she insisted, and he looked at her.
"Please, you owe me one anyway," he pointed out.
"Seriously, you're calling that up now?" she hissed. Indeed, she did owe Damian one, but it wasn't a big enough favor to kidnap Yu Hua. She liked her life and their friendship.
"But if we get him on your ship, and you depart, and he is there anyway, you would take him along... I mean, you won't just suddenly turn back, will you?" he asked, and she nodded.
"Sure, if you can manage that."
"Alright. Deal," he said, and she felt distinctly like she was just made into an accomplice to something. But even with Damian and Gale, she highly—indeed highly—doubted they would manage to down Yu Hua so thoroughly that they could smuggle him on board the ship she was on.
Gale patted her shoulder and then dragged her along on a true foodie tour. Even Uncle Jian eventually got drawn into it, listening rather amazed to Gale as he explained his and Damian's business. They were, in fact, focusing on making easy-to-use everyday machinery that anyone could use with or without a smidge of spirit power, calling it spirit tech engineering.
The focus was on one day making prostheses for injured people or people who had lost their limbs or had difficulty using their limbs—eventually, that specific field was mainly geared towards spirit masters.
Tang Yin grabbed her right arm, which moved but was completely without feeling at this point. She felt warm inside as Gale hugged her from behind with a smile.
"We also intend to help normal people eventually, but for now, making fully fledged prostheses for spirit masters is the end goal."
"You could make impressive weaponry with those skills," Chen Xin pointed out, and Gale shook his head.
"No," he announced. "No weaponry. I don't want that. I want to make common tools to help people—not injure or harm them. I have no problem fighting or helping people who are truly important to me, but... I don't want my inventions to harm others. I don't feel comfortable with that anymore."
She looked at him and then smiled. Gale had only twice made a weapon: her sword belt—the one she had broken—and Ning Feng's shields, which had sharp, blade-like edges.
She considered asking him if he could repair her sword for a moment but then stopped herself. No, better not. He didn't want to make weapons, so she wouldn't ask that of him.
"That is an admirable view on things. Many will come eventually, especially if you make customized prostheses. I know a fair number of very talented spirit masters who had to give up their careers because of having lost a limb—very few manage to recover from that."
"Thank you." Damian grinned as they once again shifted the topics. Eventually, they ended up again in front of the hotel, and Tang Yin found herself in firm hugs. Gale whisperingly asked her, "When do you intend to start?"
"Tomorrow, sometime around midday."
"Gotcha," he said and then fumbled something from his pocket, handing her a small sign made of iron and wood cleverly melded into a flower petal with a swirly pattern. "It's a VIP sign of our shop. We aren't big enough to have VIPs yet, but you know, one can dream. This is the first of them—the swirls are blue silver grass, and the petal is made like one of Yu Hua's. Each of these will be customized, so don't lose it."
She caressed it and then nodded before putting it into her storage. "I will keep it close, and when I come back from Poseidon, you better be well-known, big, and important so I can brag about my amazing friends and have the envy of all when being treated as a VIP in your place."
"Deal." She gave Gale a high five and waved goodbye as the boys headed away until they vanished behind a street corner.
"You have very good friends," Uncle Jian said. "You do not find people like them every other day."
She looked up at him. "I know. That is why I treasure them so much." She smiled. "I won't find people like them ever again. They are my family—the one I chose."
"I see," Uncle Jian nodded as they returned to the hotel.
