Tang San's Twin Sister-Chapter 133
Damian and Gale had a plan. Actually, they have had a plan for a while now. Tomorrow afternoon was more than enough time to put their plan into motion.
Damian nodded at Gale. Gale nodded back. Even if Tang Yin hadn't agreed to be in full support. The fact that she assured them that she would not turn around if Yu Hua mysteriously ended up as a Passagier was all they really needed.
Since Yu Hua had an Arena fight booked for the evening, he went to bed a touch earlier than the two of them, and Gale settled down next to him on the table.
The couch was now unaccessible, covered in work, so he leaned back.
"I informed the Arena." Gale said. "If anyone asks he is sick caught the flu. Did Yin spill which ship she is going with?"
"Got it. No, she didn't, but considering there are only four Captains that go to Haishen, three in the Harbor at the moment, the selection is limited. She is going with the sword Douluo, meaning it can only be one ship. The Tide are associated with seven treasures being an old friend of the current head of trade, the second grandson of a member of their elder council." He concluded and then leaned back. "He is going to hate us for that."
"He'll get over it...eventually...we just need to grovel a lot to get back into his good graces." Gale groaned, and Damian shrugged his shoulders. "How sid you figure out that with the Tide in any case?"
"We aim to sell our stuff to spirit masters, eventually focusing on them as a main target group of our products. I have to know who is who among them, spirit master or not, so I memorized all people knowingly related to spirit masters, especially clans, sects, and unions in Vast Sea City." He looked at Gale. "Networking."
"And you wonder why people find you creepy." Gale raised both his eyebrows. "You do know just how scary that can be?"
"You are not much better when it comes down to it. You are probably the only non-spirit master in the world who knows more about spirit beasts than a spirit master. I proofread your dissertations and scientific texts, remember?"
"Right." Gale sighed. "Who will be doing the deed?"
"You mean downing Yu Hua?" Damian smiled. "I'll do that for free. Always wanted to try. Breakfast on me?"
"Don't burn the toast or mess up and put the stuff into mine. It's made to down stronger people than me." (Gale)
"Don't worry. I would never screw that up." (Damian)
They took a breath of common plotting, and Gale got up. "Let's go."
"Yes." Then Damian rose as well, both of then had jobs to do now, and slipped into his coat. Outside, the sky had grown more ominous, and it was about to start raining. Taking an umbrella with him, he heeded into the streets.
He wasn't as feared as Yu Hua, but people respected and knew him, so no one tried stupid things in the back alleys. While he was by no means a great ambitious warrior, hanging out with the Tang Twins, Xiao Wu, Ning Feng, and Yu Hua, he had picked up his fair share of combat skills, and he did work out to keep his figure.
Both his combat skills and his workout had been helpful before these parts. Robbery was not rampand but neither an unusual circumstance. His hand wandered into his pocket. Inside the seams were needles embedded each tip coated in paralyzing poision.
The Harbor at night was a world on its own.
Between drunk and non-drunk sailors, mixed women of the business from the brothels, the rich who enjoyed a trip on the wild side, and those who earned a living from any of these groups. Admist all of it was the smell of fish and salt from the sea.
He reached the Sea Witches Korner, a mid-ranked establishment not exactly famous for its gentle or accommodating tone of conduct but a solid institution.
It was as old as the Harbor, and the elderly woman who ran the place was a true embodiment of the name behind the store.
He stepped inside, knowing he stuck out like a sore thumb in his clothing and his umbrella. Most here didn't bother with such things. Water was a part of life here. He walked up to the counter and smiled at the young girl working. Placing a silver coin on the table.
"One tea, please." He ordered. He had never been too fond of alcohol, and this was not a place to be drunk in.
The girl blinked and nodded as she made her way to get him his tea.
"You look like you are up to something, Damian." A creaking voice said behind him, and he almost, just almost flinched. He was fairly certain if he hadn't expected it to a fair degree, he probably would have lashed out.
"Baba." He said, turning around to see the one he had come for. Baba, the witch, was old, so it was impossible to tell her age. She had already been old when his father had been a kid forty years ago if the tale was to be believed.
"How are you?" He asked. Just to be polite.
"I am alive," Baba answered, uttering it more like a fact than the state of her being. "Now tell me what you are up to, boy. You are surely not here to drink tea with an old woman."
"I need to know if the Tide is heading out tomorrow afternoon towards Haishen, and if she is doing so, I need to buy a ticket. Nothing fancy, just passage till Haishen."
"For that spirit master boy, you call your friend?" She asked him, and he nodded.
"That's not going to be cheap. There is a really big shot on this ship this time, plus his company rumor mill says. Your acquaintance, the word is out, too.
"Possibly." He answered. Lying or omitting wouldn't have made sense. Letting them draw their own occlusions was better. "How much for the ticket?"
"30 gold for storage." She said, and Damian almost got lost in a coughing fit.
"I can get a first-class passage for that amount." And truthfully, he couldn't afford that. "Don't even start joking with me."
"I said, Very big shot. Booked the entire ship." She informed him, "I don't know who, but they have money like water. I need to offer something of equal value to get that ticket by tomorrow. 30 gold is generous already because I like you."
The entire ship. The Tide was not the biggest around, but the entire ship was still hefty. The sword Douluo truly was a number. Then he smiled.
Baba was no spirit master; she didn't know who big shot was.
Why should she, spirit masters left civilians alone and vice versa. They very rarely used their given names once they had titles too.
He could play with that. If he twisted ot right.
"One gold and a piece of information." He offered, and Baba blinked.
"Now, that must be quite a piece of information."
"You know me; I have my ways." He shrugged his shoulders. "I know things."
"And you asked me once upon a time why people don't like you; you are a miser, Damian."
"Baba." He pretended to be shocked. "I am merely a man who knows his value. A simple Businessman"
"A simple Businessman who just happens to have connections to seven treasures, a spirit master for best friend, and probably knows more about spirit masters then some of them know about their own." Baba snorted. "You are more Clan child then you are a Businessman. One day I will find out which Clan you belong to."
Damian shrugged his shoulders. "Just don't try to die of a heart attack when you do."
