60: Chapter 60 I See a Blood Light Disaster for You_1

60 -60 I See a Blood Light Disaster for You_1

Adan Gilliam and his wife, along with Ethan and his wife, all turned their heads together, following Samantha Tate’s gaze, and saw Carson Flores who stood out amongst the crowd.

Adan’s face showed astonishment.

Why is he here?

Upon seeing Vincent Ward by Carson’s side, Adan immediately understood.

He had heard that Carson was getting quite close to Vincent.

Perhaps he asked Vincent to bring him along?

After all, it’s pretty normal for a renowned doctor to have an assistant or two with him, right?

Did he come for little Samantha?

Adan felt a surge of disgust in an instant.

Hadn’t you sworn that you were disinterested in this banquet, pretending you didn’t care at all?

Yet behind our backs, you schemed and begged Vincent to bring you in.

Isn’t that two-faced?

Is this to engineer an encounter with little Samantha?

As for the excuse, it must be that Vincent brought you, and you’ll claim you had no idea this was Leonard Reid’s banquet.

What a coincidence to run into each other here!

Hmph!

The smile on Ethan’s face froze.

Carson Flores!

Why is he here?

Why can’t he just disappear for good!

Ethan instinctively turned his head and saw the radiant smile on Samantha Tate’s face.

Compared to the perfunctory and listless way she behaved with him just earlier, Ethan suddenly felt as if he had swallowed a fly.

Drake Bernard is really dragging his feet on this, isn’t he?

It’s been almost a week; why hasn’t he gotten rid of Carson Flores yet?

I’ll have to push him later!

Thinking of Carson, who would soon be dead, brightened up Ethan’s mood again.

Keep swaggering, let’s see how long you can keep that up.

Samantha had already rushed over to Carson, exclaiming in surprise, “How come you’re here?”

Carson smiled and said, “I came with Old Vincent to see a patient.”

Samantha sweetly greeted, “Hello, Old Vincent!”

Vincent Ward got up with a chuckle, “You two chat, I’ll go catch up with a few old friends.”

Samantha sat down next to Carson and said with a beaming smile, “It’s great that you’re here.

Otherwise, tonight would have been so boring.”

Carson chuckled, “With all these rich and handsome young masters around, capable and charismatic, how could it be boring?”

Samantha pouted, “Forget it, I don’t like their kind.

Let’s not discuss their capabilities for now, but they are so pretentious it’s nauseating.”

Before Carson could reply, Ethan walked over, speaking sarcastically, “Look who it is if it isn’t Carson Flores.

What’s with the getup?

A T-shirt and jeans?

The whole outfit doesn’t look like it costs more than five hundred bucks.

For such an upscale banquet, your attire is a bit embarrassing.

If you’d said something earlier, I could’ve lent you a suit, you know, to keep up appearances at least.”

Samantha interrupted with displeasure, “What my boyfriend wears is his business.

It’s none of your business.”

Blocked by Samantha’s retort, Ethan’s face turned a deep red, choking out, “I just think he’s showing a tremendous lack of respect for the host of the banquet, very impolite.

Look at what he’s wearing, it’s totally out of place here.”

Carson smiled, “You’re dressed pretty nicely today.

No risk of wetting your pants this time, I hope?”

Ethan’s face turned the color of liver as Carson’s words tore open his wounds, jabbed them twice for good measure, then rubbed salt into them.

Ethan snapped, “There is great fear between life and death; so what if I lost my composure then?”

Carson laughed, “Nothing much, except you seem to have forgotten that it was I who saved your life.

Without me, you would have been wolf food by now, probably turned into a heap of dung.

Here you are, not showing the slightest gratitude to your savior, and instead, you repay kindness with malice, mocking your life-saver.

Tell me, is that something a human being would do?”

Their dispute had already drawn the attention of the surrounding crowd.

Ethan felt as though the weird looks from everyone were like arrows piercing into him, making him utterly uncomfortable.

Ethan stared bitterly at Carson, “Keep being arrogant.

I want to see how long you can keep it up!”

Carson gave a slight smile, his expression subtle, “You’ve got a dark mark on your forehead; I fear you might be facing a bloody disaster soon.

You’d better watch out.”

Bloody disaster for me?

Ethan sneered, “Coincidentally, I can read fortunes too.

I see that you’re covered by dark clouds; afraid you won’t live past three days.”

“Ethan!”

Ethan’s father walked over with a stern face, “What are you even talking to him about?

You’re not afraid of lowering your standards.

Come with me, I’ll introduce you to some elders.”

Ethan sneered, raising three fingers and repeating, “Three days!”

Carson smiled and didn’t reply anymore.

After Ethan left, the on-looker Adan Gilliam approached, “Carson, you said earlier there weren’t any spare invitations for you, yet here you are.”

Carson smiled, “Old Vincent brought me over to see a patient.

I didn’t even know this was the same banquet that uncle mentioned before.

That’s quite a coincidence.”

Coincidence?

Adan responded with a forced smile, “Indeed, quite a coincidence.”

Carson looked at Adan’s reaction and was momentarily puzzled, then he understood.

Adan thought he had deliberately asked Vincent Ward to get him into this event, eager to bump into them here to prove he was still someone with capabilities and connections?
