The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 111: is this real?

"Are you for real right now, Mi hija?" Rosa practically jumped out of her chair when Violet dropped the baby bomb.

"Yes. Her name’s Odette." Violet smiled softly and rubbed her tummy.

"How do you know her name?" Rosa asked.

"She told me that was her name. And she said that she picked me." Violet couldn’t help but turn pink at the thought. This baby picked her to the mother of all the women in the world, it was Violet, the little girl picked.

"She’s special, I can tell." Violet held her stomach in bliss.

"So, wait what does that mean now?" Rosa’s mind was jumping with joy from hearing the news, but then she remembered the whole deal with the brothers.

A flash of possessiveness and a strong aura of dominance descended upon the room.

"It means she is mine now." Ash growled. Ash hasn’t forgotten that Rosa slept with his Violet before, so with having been a threat to him once, he wanted to make it very clear it won’t happen again.

"Finally, you mean to tell me I can step off this throne and hand you the heavy crown?" Vlad had a sound of relief in his question. As if he already knew the answer.

"The child is due the last day of October." Lilith mentions.

"Ahh, so in 3 months I’ll be free of the damned burden." Vlad smiled and Uncle Hyde looked at his longtime friend. "So, you’re finally going to chase after Karissa, then?"

"Yep, how about it, Gabe? How’d you feel if your mom and dad got back together again?" Vlad chuckled.

"I don’t care, but I think she’d be stupid to take back a cheating, lustful, greedy bastard, as yourself, but it’s none of my business." Gabe shrugged, digging into his meal. Gabe never forgave his father for sleeping with other women

Not only because Vlad didn’t deserve it, but because he couldn’t find a reason to care about such trivial things.

While everyone was talking, Violet looked at Rosa and Rosa starred into Violet’s eyes. Unable to find any malice or resentment. But Violet knew, slithering into Rosa’s mind she told her ’It’s okay, Rosa, I wish you the best with Jeremy. He deserves happiness just as much as you, but be patient with him, he still has a long way to go.’ Rosa’s eyes flooded with tears. Blinking them away she looks deeply at Violet and nods.

Jeremy was arguing with Uncle Hyde about a chemical combination being good or bad when he was blindsided by Rosa. She grabbed his face, and her lips crashed into his claiming him in front of the entire table.

Everyone sat in stunned silence, which only broke when Violet burst out in laughter.

The room shifted their gaze from the sudden show of affection with Rosa and Jeremy to Violet who was laughing so hard she couldn’t breathe.

Violet was laughing because Rosa surprised her and Jeremy’s emotions in that moment were too much to swallow. His panic and excitement and surprise were palpable. It tickled her. Jeremy was silent a lot, but it wasn’t because he didn’t have words, he just often had nothing he cared to say. But she witnessed his mind go completely blank, and Jeremy, the ever controlled and well-behaved brother was out of sorts and unseated from his throne of control.

Viktor and Viktoria looked at each other having the same thought at the same time. ’Is this real?’

Violet was pregnant, Ash was tamed and would be King, and Rosa just dominated Jeremy at the dinner table after the King announced his retirement. This was the most eventful dinner at this table they’d ever seen.

There was an unsaid sadness that sunk in for Viktoria. Would she ever have a mate of her own? She looked at her twin brother with pain in her heart. Violet now becoming too keen of everyone’s emotional state with her new gift strength quickly noticed Viktoria’s change.

’You’ll find someone one day, Viktoria, I just know it.’ Violet whispered into her mind. Viktoria couldn’t help but smile, like she knew to just trust Violet, because she was probably right.

Once dinner Gabriel was the first to leave, followed by Vlad and Uncle Hyde , who left for their guest house out back, the twins took to their room on the first floor.

Oliver looked at the two couples at the table and decided this wasn’t it for him, he wanted to check on his gaming accounts.

"Well, this will get awkward, me being a fifth wheel and all. So, I guess I’ll catch you guys later." Oliver scooted his chair across the floor, creating a loud screeching sound.

"Always one for the theatrics, Oliver." Ash mumbled, clearly annoyed by Olivers antics.

"Would I even be me, without my drama? I don’t think so." Oliver walked over to Violet and bent down on one knee. "My Queen, have a blessed remainder of the night, for I must retire to my humble abode." Kissing her hand and giving a sideways sneer to Ash and winking.

Ash hissed and nearly jumped from his chair to rip off Olivers head when Violet rested her other hand delicately on his knee.

"Shh, he’s taunting you. Relax a little."

"Ta-ta everyone," Oliver gave a dramatic princess wave as he exited the dining room, leaving just Rosa with Jeremy and Violet with Ash.

"So, when did you start ducking your duties for Rosa? Explains why I haven’t had to share Violet with you."

"The night you guys showed up to my concerto." Jeremy answered flatly.

Ash was stunned by his quick confession and how easily it came out. Like he was answering a question about his flowers out back.

"I knew I sensed something between you two after that. And that was even before I could read feelings." Violet clapped with glee.

"I’m so sorry mi hija. Truly." Rosa lowered her head apologetically.

"What are you so sorry for, Rosa I’m confused?" Violet tilted her head raising her eyebrows in the front giving Rosa a concerned look.

Rosa looked down at her hands while she fumbled with her words "I took away one of your suitors."

Violet snorted trying to hold back a laugh, "Rosa, it was never love. Jeremy is my friend, and I would have been honored to have him if that’s what fate and the gods had in store for me. But my heart has always belonged to Ash. I’d probably die of a broken heart if Ash was the man you loved and not Jeremy." Violet said rising from her seat and approaching Rosa.

She took Rosa’s hands in hers and gazed softly into her eyes.

"You did nothing wrong, and you never hurt me." Violet reassured her.

"But... But girl code? It’s the one code that should never be broken, and I... I... I broke it!" Rosa finally broke down, unleashing all the her tears, the ones she’s been holding in for far too long. Tears of betrayal and of guilt, for feelings of self-hatred and self-doubt. Tears for the fear of what the cost of her love would be. From the fear of losing everything she hold dear. As well as the ones from last night. Rosa started crying for all the bodies of children she saw bloodied and burnt on the ground. The sight of people ripping other people to shreds. She cried for fearing what happened to her best friend, her lovers, even her father, who she hasn’t told anyone she saw.

Violet took a seat on the other chair next to her and took Rosa into her embrace. She glared at Ash and Jeremy giving them a forceful look and she inserted in their minds ’Go.’ Sending them away, allowing her to comfort her friend and ease her pain.

Ash nodded understanding and wasn’t about to argue with his pregnant woman about something as frivolous as this.

"Get up, don’t fight her, she’ll just force you out. Violet’s temperament is little, edgy lately and her abilities are stronger." Ash mentions directing him to the doorway.

"You think it’s the pregnancy?" Jeremy rose from his seat reluctantly.

"Has to be, funny is, I don’t know if it’s her hormones or the baby." Ash rubbed the back of his head nervously.

"What will you do if your daughters like you? An asshole?" Jeremy chuckled at his joke at Ash’s expense.

Ash shot him a stare as sharp as daggers and growled, "Tread lightly, don’t talk about my little princess."

Jeremy rolled his eyes, it’s a joke where I mock you, idiot. Hope she’s at least smarter than you." Jeremy kept poking fun at Ash.

Ash fumed at first, but he had an idea, why set the fun ablaze when he could play with the fire too?

"You know, having two of me wouldn’t be the worst, imagine a little princess running after you just to trip you and laugh at you. Or putting paprika in your cinnamon again?" Ash sent a jab at Jeremy, reminding him of Ash’s old pranks.

"Oh, please gods, please don’t let her be like her father. Make her gentle and loving like her mother. Plus, her fathers a complete idiot. We need less idiots in the world not more." Jeremy joked.

Ash jumped after him and chased him arounds the first floor and up and down the stairs, over furniture.

It had been so long since the brothers had played and acted like brothers. Mocking each other, chasing each other, affectionately bullying each other.

Rosa just melted into Violet, if she could have fused with Violet, in that moment she would have. And Violet let her liquify in her arms holding the puddle together like a cup. After letting her friend feel her feelings, Violet slowly started to pull Rosa’s pain out of her. Violet rubbed Rosa’s back. "Shh... There, there... It’s all okay now..." Violet repeated like a mantra.

Rosa started to feel the weight of her pain lessening; the air became breathable again. Rosa sniffled leaning up and rubbed the snot from her nose. Violet grabbed her cheeks forcing Rosa to meet her penetrating gaze.

"Now you listen to me, I am your future queen, which means what I say is law. Rosa, you did nothing wrong, and you’re an amazing friend because you were bothered, because you struggled, and because you felt guilt. A bad friend wouldn’t care. This much I know. Thank you for witnessing what happened last night so you could be a part of the rescue efforts. I am truly blessed to have you as a friend. Rosa."ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
