The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 112: They didn’t even spare the children
Chapter 112: They didn’t even spare the children
Ursula had found almost 70 people and brought them to safety in the servant’s quarters. The sound of broken howls seemed to go on endlessly. They were all huddled up together for comfort and warmth. Children trembling in the arms of staff. See her people like this broke her heart, they didn’t deserve this. They didn’t commit sins deserving of this punishment. These were innocents not soldiers. She had no idea the condition of what laid outside the servant’s corridors, how many people were still alive or injured. Ursula knew they were going to run short on time and only had so long before the vampires would come back and sweep the area clean, taking over this territory.
Alpha Micheal ruined everything, he violated the treaty, he gave the vampires a reason to wipe them all out. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Violet had saved them, even after being kidnapped by their alpha, she still protected her people, or at least what was left, she didn’t seek revenge.
Ursula knew she’d never see her friend again, that the last time she saw her would have been the last. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. None of this should have happened.
Ursula checked her phone again and saw it was already 9am and they only had until night fall to prepare to leave.
"There’s daylight now, the vampires should all be gone. We only have until sundown to leave before they send their cleanup crew. And wipe the rest of us out. We don’t have a second to spare, let’s get up and get moving." Ursula stood first, gesturing for the others to follow. However, they looked around at each other, still stuck in their seats petrified of what awaited for them outside these walls.
Prince Ambrose stepped up and stood next to Ursula "We need to move, were not safe here, there will be a time to mourn our dead after we get to back to the continent, all are welcome to my pack, the Bloodmoon pack. I, your prince, will open our gates for your asylum, if you have another place in mind, please know we can help arrange transportation."
Ursula looked down to Ambrose, who was quiet tall for his age. He was just a foot shorter than her, and she was pretty tall herself. She heard his first shift was at a young and that he had an impressive wolf, it was amazing he survived such a power experience so young. She smiled grateful for his back up.
Following the order of their prince they rose from their seats, some still held small children clinging to them for dear life.
The corridors were an eerie quiet and the smell of iron was thick in the air even in here. They moved swiftly and quietly to avoid making any racket that would give away their position.
As scared and nervous as they were already, absolutely nothing could have prepared them for what they saw once they left the halls.
Many of them gasped at the sight, some screamed in horror, others sobbed, falling to their knees and soaked the floor with their tears.
It was an absolute blood bath. A massacre. Bodies of dead shifters in their human form and their wolf form, some mid transition. Some missing heads and limbs, some ripped in two All of the vampires seemed to have gathered their dead leaving just there peoples. Blood splattered on the walls, glass shattered all over the floor, tables flipped food thrown all around, broken cups and plates were scattered across the floor.
Young Prince Ambrose stood in front of his dead mother’s lifeless body. The color drained for her face, her eyes were glossy and had a sickly yellow instead of white. Her body bloodied. The sight broke something in the little boy. He clenched his fist tightening his jaw. His eyes glowed red and a loud heart shatter roar left his throat, a howl deep from within. one his wolf made along with him. Dropping to his knees, he reached down to hold her face. Her head was heavy and limp, it wobbled in his hands.
"Mom, please... You have to wake up. You can’t just leave me all alone in this world." His was low, desperation laced his voice like poison.
Ursula walked over and put her hand gently on his shoulder. A silence stretched between them, not an awkward one, but one born of understanding and pain. She knew there were no words to help. He just needed to not be alone in this moment. Ursula provided that for him.
He sulked for a moment, looking around and taking it all in.
A scream erupted from outside, so everyone rushed to the sound and that’s when they saw the real devastation. The entire town was burnt to the ground, crumbled black lumber, houses in pieces, smoke bellowing all around them. They saw chewed up corpses and burnt to a crisp bodies laid dispersed all over the ground. The smell of burnt flesh and death hung pungently in the air, assaulting the wolves’ sensitive nose, the blood of their kin soaked the earth, everything was gone, they left no survivors outside, they didn’t even spare the innocent children. The scene was one that would be burned into their minds forever.
Ursula was appalled people she knew, and love did this. Conflicted about how she felt. She knew vampires weren’t all bad, but this? This was too much. Her head was spinning, she felt bile rise in her throat.
"I guess there’s not much to salvage is there." One survivor sadly mentions.
"I will seek vengeance for our people. I will seek retribution. My people, as your prince I vow to get revenge for your loved ones. For my loved ones. For our King and Queen. A debt that can only be paid with blood." Prince Ambrose pledges loudly. "I promise to avenge you mother."
He looked down at his hands soaked in red. Squeezing his fists shut, knuckles turning white. "I will raise our packs to their former glory and we will make those vampires pay for their sins."
