The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 127: the child of a god
Chapter 127: the child of a god
Things at Violet’s lunch went well. Her heart was swelling with joy seeing her best friend with her now brother-in-law, officially. They were surprised when Lilith accepted Rosa, being halfling wasn’t considered good enough for anything ’real’ usually. But Lilith adored Violet and would do almost anything to see her smile. If Rosa becoming her grand-daughter in-law would please her favorite person, it was easy. The girl wasn’t a whole human. That would be too much. She despised humans in most cases. Finicky, she called them. Dishonest and disloyal. Because they live such short lives their feeling and aspirations are fleeting and unreliable. But half vampires, had most of the perks of being a full fledge vampire, or a Changeling vampire, which are different from the Turned. Changelings were turned with a blood exchange, however people who were bitten and don’t receive a blood exchange, they either die or turn into something sick, twisted and evil.
Lilith could tolerate a halfling.
Once the luncheon was over Violet pulled Ash aside, "I am meeting up with Arya to talk to her coven about the binding spell. I asked if you could come, but they said no. I’ll tell you everything that happens when I return." Violet leaned up to kiss Ash on the cheek. However, Ash turned his quickly, capturing her lips instead. For a moment they dove into a deep affectionate kiss.
Their moment was interrupted by Arya walking in and clearing her throat to alert the two of her presence. the pungent smell of dirty blood hit Ash instantly.
Ash ignored it, so consumed with claiming Violet’s lips. Violet tried to pull away Ash kept her mouth on his until Arya cleared her throat a second time and said. "Excuse me but I’m covered in guts and would like to change. If I could please, your majesties, have a moment of your time?"
She was as sarcastic as she could be when she asked for their attention.
Violet and Ash pulled apart and looked at Arya, who was indeed covered in guts.
Ash now focused and more alert could smell the rogue wolf all over Arya.
"What the hell happened to you?" He asked plugging his nose. No longer face to face with Violet’s intoxicating smell, his senses were assaulted by the smell.
"I was attacked by a fucking rogue wolf in your city. What are you going to do about it?" Arya snapped crossing her arms across her chest and tampering her foot. Looking at Ash with a hard scowl.
"A rogue wolf? In my city? Undetected? No, that’s not possible." Ash dismissed Arya.
"You’re to prideful, you know that. Why else would I smell like this if I didn’t run into a rotten dog? Hmm?" Arya had become slightly prejudice towards wolves after what they did to her best friend.
"Ash, don’t be so bullheaded, she’s covered in guts for goodness sake." Violet moved away from Asher and leaned into Arya wrapping her arm around her.
That’s when Arya noticed she was trembling. How long had she been trembling for?
"I will be back Ash." Violet turned Arya and started walking away, but Arya halted and turned back.
"Oh, I forgot to mention, there’s pieces of a dead body in a taxi out front. I needed to get back, and didn’t know what to do with a body. Figured you guys would."
Ash stood in shock.
A dead body?
Pieces of a dead body?
Violet tried to pretend she didn’t just hear there was a chopped-up body out front. She shuddered trying to push the thought out.
When they arrived in Arya’s room, Violet did her thing, turning on the shower and letting the steam warm up the room, she asked for a servant to bring them a warm towel.
Arya didn’t know how scared she actually had been until she stepped into the steam of the shower and watched all the blood wash offer her hair, face, legs, and arms. She was attacked. She started to whimper quietly in the shower, though the sound didn’t go unnoticed by Violet.
Arya stood in the hot water for 20 minutes just letting the water fall over her like a baptism. She shook herself and wiggled her limbs around, shaking off the fear and washed her skin, trying desperately to remove the stench of rogue blood.
Violet left her to shower privately when she heard Arya’s whimpers. She called for another servant girl to bring them warm food and hot chocolate. The servant happily obliged. They were already loving their new Queen; she was kind and gentle and strong. The servants had all heard about her display of strength when she killed that horrible pureblood. They knew this queen would change things for them.
Violet set up a soothing space for Arya when she came out. Arya was touched by the effort Violet put in to comfort her and after she dressed herself, she sat with Violet.
Violet knowing what would happen if she touched Arya asked her first "I can take your fear away. Would you like me to do that?" Violet wanted her consent.
"Oh, goddess, would you please. Arya snatched Violets hands ready and willing to accept Violet’s aid.
Violet smiled and drained the fear from Arya and replaced it with a sense of euphoria Arya needed after such a gruesome event.
"Can you tell me what happened?" Violet asked still holding Arya’s hands.
"I met with my coven leaders to request the meeting, and on my way back a taxi driver tried to kill me. It turns out the driver was a rogue. One that masked its scent so I couldn’t perceive right away. But after I became alert, I could smell it faintly. It wasn’t strong like it was just now. It was barely there he almost didn’t have a smell at all. He tried to drive away. And the guy must have been stupid or something, cause he thought I was human, it was like he was completely unaware of my magical aura." Arya was explaining "He threatened me, and he wouldn’t let me out, I told him if he didn’t something bad would happen. And well he pulled a gun out and pointed it at me. I did the only thing I could do I forced him to turn the gun on himself and blow his brains all over the car. Then drove it here."
Arya’s confession rocked Violet; all of these scary things keep happening.
"What was up with all these kidnappings? Are the villains all reading the same handbook." Arya let go of Violet’s hands and stood up. "I need to call the coven we’re already late, and The Mother hates tardiness."
"I’m sure your mother will understand, you were almost kidnapped." Violet claimed.
"Haha, she’s not my mother. And she will except no excuses. I could die and she’d bring me back just to yell at me. She’s honestly scary as all hell." Arya joked, but the hint of truth wasn’t hidden, she meant exactly what she said.
"Oh, wow, that stinks. But then why do you call her mother?" Violet was confused.
"Everything, will be explained once we get there." Arya insists.
"How will we go there? Isn’t it dangerous with rogues roaming the city?" Violet asked nervously.
"You’ll be fine, between your Divine Fyre and my amazing skills, we can take ’em." Arya joked. Patting Violet’s shoulder.
"I don’t know, are you sure I can’t bring Ash? He should be there." Violet pressed on, nervous and unsure of herself.
"No. men have no place in the witch’s circle. He won’t be welcomed." Arya was deliberately sharp and firm, leaving no room for negotiation.
"Alright. Let’s do this then. How are we doing this?" Violet asked anxiously.
"Stone portals." Arya winked.
"What are those?" Violet raised her eyebrows like a curious little girl.
"This stone," Arya shows Violet, "only works with fae rings. I’ll use some magic words, and the stone will dematerialize us and rematerialize in a fae ring. Theres all types of crystals for teleporting."
"I’m kind excited. A fae circle. Are fairies real?" Violet asked with a childlike innocent gleam in her eyes.
"Yes, but they don’t live in our world, but they come here now and then, that’s what their rings are for. We just learned how to utilize them. We can’t cross the worlds, but we can use them in ours." Arya said.
"Ready?" Arya checked with Violet before tossing the stone on the ground. Arya closed her eyes, whispered a few words, ones Violet couldn’t decipher. Unexpectedly, Violet felt this tingle and a tug, and she looked down, her body was turning into pink dust and being drawn into the stone like a cyclone.
The world around her spun and then evaporated leaving nothing but a static white when she suddenly rematerialized in a deep green forest. The sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling settled around her in rhythm that was beautiful and peaceful.
"Wow, it’s so incredible here. It’s like a dream; I don’t get to visit a lot of forests." Violet gazed in wonder at the surrounding wooded area. She felt like she was in an enchanted forest.
Which it was. It was enchanted; the witches cast a spell to make it so.
When they arrived at the circle. Three women stood waiting inside.
"We’ve been waiting."
