The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 89: Over my dead body
Chapter 89: Over my dead body
Once Ash had finished his work, he went straight to see Violet and Ursula. Planning to get their dinner and snack order for the butler. Ash had grown accustomed to having friends since Violet waltzed into his life, it was unbelievable how social he’d become as well. As soon as he stepped up to the door, he instantly knew something was wrong.
Anger and fear flooded his senses as he burst through the door to see a portal close inside Violet’s room.
"FUCK" Ash howled; the sound of his rage echoed through the house.
Oliver came running when he heard Ash’s violet howl.
"Ash, what the fuck?" Oliver asked urgently.
"Their gone..." Ash growled biting down hard.
"Who’s..." Oliver checking into his surroundings, he realized they were missing two very important people "No... you don’t mean Violet and Ursula?"
Oliver pushed past Ash, rushing into Violet’s room.
Oliver was freaked. How could two girls just disappear inside their home. A home filled with vampires, there’s no way someone could have just walked in and taken them.
"Obliviously who else? They left in a portal of some kind. But I can’t find any evidence of magic here. Theres’s nothing, but I know what I saw." Ash sharply looked at Oliver and his brows furrowed.
"I don’t understand how this could have happened." Oliver’s mind was reaving trying to wrap it around their missing girls.
"Where the fuck is Jeremy? And call Gabriel and tell him to get his ass home. NOW." Ash ordered Oliver.
Almost on command, Jeremy burst from his door, shouting "THE STONE IS MISSING!"
Both Oliver and Ash looked at Jeremy wide eyed, before their brows tightened and the same thought occurred in their minds at the same time.
"Fucking Dogs."
Oliver pulled out his phone and dialed Gabriel.
"What is it Oliver, I’m in the middle of something, so this better be important." Gabriel sounded aggrieved, like it was an inconvenience for his brother to even contact him.
"Violet’s gone." Were all the words Oliver needed to say.
Gabriel’s face fell instantly. The color drained from his already paled face. His eyes burned with an unknown rage. Gabriel has never felt this kind of anger before, it was entirely unfamiliar to him. He was seething.
"You want to repeat that again for me?" Gabriel growled low and deep.
"VIOLET IS GONE!" Oliver repeated loudly with a desperate sense of urgency ringing in his voice.
"Shit. SHIT." Gabriel yelled chucking his phone at the wall.
Gabriel was in a board meeting with other immortals and humans. They were in the middle of discussing a new drug for changed vampires to help them manage their blood thirst.
Changelings found it hard at first to maintain composure around exposed blood sources the. Born vampires learned thirst control at a young age. This experimental drug would be a game changer for many new vampires. This meeting would be a breakthrough for their company and the potential to make billions; because not only did it work for vampire thirst, but it could also help mortals with anemia, more specifically people with sickle cell. It made blood coagulate, giving them a chance at a normal life.
The room of investors and directors was dead silent. The crickets from three blocks away could be heard throughout the room. Gabriel’s aura sucked the light from the room, emitting a violent, murderous intent. Fear pressed the hearts of the men and women in the room with him. No one spoke, afraid to be the object of that wrath.
Gabriel stormed from the room with impressive speed. Leaving everyone breathless.
Gabriel debated on taking the car or running, calculating the fastest outcome. He picked driving.
Carefully weaving through traffic and running red lights, he drove faster than he’s ever driven before, making a forty-five minute drive in nineteen.
Busting through the double doors Gabriel screamed through the house "What’s the fucking plan?"
Ash, Oliver and Jeremy had been discussing the stone and whether or not Ursula was a part of this.
Oliver was defending her, but Ash was skeptical, and Jeremy was flat out convinced she was a traitorous spy.
"I’ve called in back up and every available vampire from TrueBlood to low born assembling right now, I’ve called in some favors from other immortals." Ash answered.
"We’ve been trying to figure out, how they portalled in and out undetected and why the stones missing." Jeremy added.
"Come again?" Gabriel furrowed his brows. Why does the stone matter? It’s useless?
"They used a portal to get in and out, and they didn’t just take Violet, they took her stone too." Oliver repeats what Jeremy just dead.
"Why did they want the stone they gifted Violet? It’s not magical. It’s just a moonstone." Gabriel was confused.
"Exactly. The question is why? Why risk getting caught for a useless moonstone?" Jeremy repeated back.
"I don’t know, cause it’s not useless? Why does the stone matter, it’s Violet that should be our focus." Gabriel snapped.
"You know for someone whose usually so... Calculating... you seem to be missing some numbers in your equation." Jeremy wiped back.
"Watch it little brother." Gabriel hissed.
"Stop it, both of you, none if this is helping us come up with a plan to get Violet back." Oliver shouted at his two brothers.
Jeremy and Gabriel growled at Oliver but backed down, they knew he was right.
"The soonest we’ll have everyone is tomorrow night." Eugene mentioned coming into the room. He knew his master’s wouldn’t be thrilled about how long it was going to take to rescue their Violet.
"That’s bullshit, no, we leave tonight, we can’t just leave her to the wolves." Ash snapped.
"I agreed that seems far too longer, anything could happen by then. We can’t just leave her there. I refuse. I’m going tonight." Ash snarled.
Ash refused to let her stay even a single night there.
"Asher, you will do no such thing. We will all go together, safety in numbers." His father Vladimir the king of vampires said walking through the front doors with their grandmother Lilith.
Ash met that order with a growl. "Over my dead body."
"Asher you will listen to your father, this is serious. This is an act of War, and there are rules to this." Lilith reminded Ash.
"You think I give a damn about your petty rules and laws? No! My woman was kidnapped by mongrels, and you expect me to just hang back? The fuck do I look like to you?" Ash snapped back at his parents.
Ash’s eyes were glowing a crimson red. A murderous aura washed over the room. He’s never disobeyed out right, he was blinded by the anxiety of losing Violet. He couldn’t sit still; he couldn’t see the whole picture. He was unraveling, every collected sane thought he had was disappearing by the second, being replaced with pure unadulterated fury. He wasn’t thinking clearly, about what he would need, what it would take to break through the pack’s defenses and bust Violet out. All he could think about was Violet.
His mind was swimming to the brim with thoughts of Violet. Worry and fear the forefront of his thoughts.
There wasn’t a chance in hell he would leave Violet alone longer than he has too with those dogs. It had already been too long in Ash’s opinion.
"You can and you must." King Vlad stepped forward looking straight into Ash’s violent gaze.
"This is bigger than just your love for her, this is more and if you go into this alone with a clouded mind, it’s not just stupid, but it’s suicide. I won’t have you throw this whole attack because you’re blinded by love for a stupid little girl. You could be King and replace me, act it."
Ash didn’t drop his gaze and his resolve didn’t waver. "If you ever call her stupid again, I’ll rip your tongue from your mouth and feed it to those mutts, so you can fuck right off with that plan." Ash snarled. He was dripping with malice, and he meant every single word he said to his father just now.
For a second, fear flickered in his father’s eyes, and not just fear for himself. But fear for whatever Asher was capable of doing when it came to Violet. The wolf shifters were about to be knee deep in shit, and King Vlad almost pitied any wolf Ash got his hands on. Almost.
